THE BILLIONAIRE'S CRYBABY -
Chapter 239: SEEING DREAM
Chapter 239: SEEING DREAM
Fay walked into Dreams dressing room, just as her attendants put the finishing touches on the birthday girl.
"Oh my God, is that my baby?" She gasped as she walked in.
Dream’s nanny led her forward, so she could stand in front of her mother.
"How do I look, mummy?" She asked, twirling her princess gown.
"Like the princess you absolutely are," Fay replied, bending to the ground.
"You look pretty too, mummy," she replied, and smiled toothily.
Fay looked up, and everyone in the room got the message.
One after the other, they walked out, until it was just Fay and Dream left.
"You look so beautiful, Dreamy," she said, poking her dimples.
"Is it going to be very fun, mummy?" Dream asked.
"Well of course, it will be. You’ll meet your grandmother, and great grandmother. You’ll meet your aunt’s and uncles too. I think it’ll be very fun," she replied.
"And daddy too. You didn’t mention daddy."
Fay’s heart did a double take, and her palms instantly grew sweaty.
She didn’t want to disappoint her daughter on such a special day.
How could she tell her Ace had bailed on her on such an important day?
It was too unfair, too gruesome, and just terrifying.
"Right, I know," she said, managing a weak smile.
"Alright mummy, can we go now?" She asked, excitement filled in her tiny voice.
"Let’s go my beauty."
Fay straightened up, and together, they walked out of the room.
On arrival at the top of the stairs, they Saw Seth Luxe waiting for them.
His eyes shone with love, and admiration, when he looked up, and saw his granddaughter, and great granddaughter descend down the stairs.
This was his legacy. He couldn’t believe he got to preserve his actual legacy.
It was the kind of luck not many people had. And because he was one of those lucky few, he was eternally grateful.
"You two look absolutely stunning!" He said, when they walked up to him.
"I do, PawPaw?" Dream asked, holding her gown.
"You most especially."
He crouched, and placed a kiss on her forehead.
"Is it time to go?" Fay asked right after he straightened up.
Their eyes locked, and there was a brief communication there.
She drew strength from the fact he was going to be there. In turn, he reassured her that everything would be fine.
As they stepped into the open, a car had already been opened up for them.
Gerald was driving the one that would take them to their destination, but the other car had Cade driving it.
In that car, they had their bodyguards ready, just in case there was any turbulence.
Dream’s nanny was also in the car with the bodyguards.
"Are you nervous?" Fay asked Dream when they drew closer to the Atticus mansion.
"No mummy, I’m just excited. I can’t wait to see my gifts."
Fay laughed. "Is that the only thing you’re interested in? Your gifts?"
"The people too," she bobbed her head. "But the gifts, and my cake."
Seth cackled proudly. "That’s my great granddaughter," he said with a smile on his face.
The gates were wide open when they arrived, causing Fay’s heart to lurch.
"I said I wanted this to be private," she whispered to Seth.
"Don’t sweat it. I talked to the matriarch. She said everyone has signed an NDA. The press are none the wiser, I promise."
She swallowed her nervousness, and nodded.
If the matriarch was on it, then she just had to have hope everything would turn out fine.
"Oh My God, I think it’s them!" Sophie screamed.
"What?!"
Everyone turned towards the entrance at the same time, catching the moment the two cars pulled into the compound.
The matriarch signalled the gate guy. As far as she was concerned, every invited guest had arrived already.
The gate was instantly closed, just as Fay’s car parked, and they began to descend from it.
Seth Luxe stepped out first, with a smile on his handsome face.
"That’s the grandfather," Blaire said.
"Oh he’s so hot!" Claire replied.
"Decorum you two!" Gabrielle chided.
Next, Fay stepped out of the car, but didn’t move into complete view, as she waited for Dream’s Nanny to walk up to them.
"I think it’s Fay! It’s her. Lots of red hair. I know it’s her!" Sophie clapped excitedly, ready to dash towards her.
"Hold it, young lady. She’s going to get to us soon," the matriarch stopped her, but couldn’t hide the anticipation in her voice.
The nanny came forward, and Fay gave her a few instructions, before carrying Dream out of the car.
She turned to see her grandfather waiting for them.
He threw her a reassuring gaze, and she took a deep breath.
"Are you ready, Dreamy?"
"Yes mummy," Dream said, just wanting to get this party started already.
Confidently, they stepped beside Seth, and together, they made their way forward.
Gabrielle couldn’t keep it together anymore.
The second she caught a glimpse of Dream, she dashed forward.
"Mum, I thought you said we were being dramatic!" Sophie called.
She was already within them in a few seconds.
"It’s her, isn’t it? This is my granddaughter," she said with tears in her eyes.
Fay nodded, as she let go of Dreams’ hands.
"You’re my daddy’s, mummy?" Dream innocently asked.
"I am, baby. I am your grandmother," she replied, pulling her in for a hug.
Sophie couldn’t stand not being part of the action.
Leaving everyone, she followed her mother’s action, and ran to them.
"Fay!" She called first, and hugged her tightly.
"Hello my darling. You look beautiful!" Fay said, as they separated.
"I knew it was you the second I saw lots of red hair," Sophie said enthusiastically.
Fay chuckled heartily. "I guess it does introduce my presence."
Sophie turned to Seth Luxe who still had his contented smile on his face.
"Hello sir, I’m Sophie Atticus. It’s nice meeting you," she said, stretching out her hands.
He shook her firmly, having heard a lot about the girl a little too intelligent for her age.
"It’s an honor to meet you," he replied.
She turned next to Dream, who Gabrielle had barely let go of.
"Hey Dream, I’m Sophie. We’re going to be best of friends, because I love your mother," she said.
"You’re pretty," Dream said, and smiled.
"Come with me then."
Sophie gently stepped ahead of her mother, and grabbed Dream’s hand.
"Hey Sophie, she’s not yours alone, you know?"
The rest of the family who had come out called, as they all rushed to introduce themselves to Dream.
Amidst the chaos, Leighton pulled Fay aside, and hugged her tightly.
"You shouldn’t have cut ties again," she said as they pulled away.
"I’m so sorry, Leigh. Everything happened so suddenly," she explained.
"I understand. But Dream? She looks exactly like her father," she gasped.
"I know, right?" Fay said solemnly.
"Yeah, Landon told me. I’m so sorry, Fay. You deserve so much better."
"It’s okay. I just need to be strong for my daughter. She deserves to have fun today."
"She does. Common, let’s go."
The family stepped into the party ground, and Fay was stunned.
They had gone above and beyond with everything she saw.
Children running about, bouncing castles, toy stops, candy machines, a child’s dream!
She turned to Dream, and discovered she was already making her way to the candy machine.
The matriarch laughed beside her. "I can see sweet tooth runs in the family," she said.
"It sure does," Fay replied.
"How are you holding up?" She asked.
"Fine for now. She hasn’t asked for her father yet."
"Don’t worry too much about it, Fay. She’s going to have a great birthday."
She patted her back gently, before moving away to greet some of the invited guests.
"Hey, I brought you a drink."
She turned her head, and saw Landon holding up a drink for her.
With a smile of gratitude, she accepted the cup.
"Thank you."
"I’m sorry, Fay," he said.
"Don’t do that please," she replied, after taking a sip out of the cool drink.
"Do what?"
"Apologize on behalf of your friend. It just makes things worse," she said.
"Alright. I didn’t mean to make things worse. And not to excuse Ace, but I hope you don’t give up on him. He’s a lot, but I promise, he has good intentions. He loves you a lot too."
"Yeah, I can feel that love. Especially today of all days."
She scoffed, and walked away, done with any conversation that had to do with Ace.
The party was going on smoothly, and even as Fay tried to mingle, she found her eyes going to Dream at intervals.
Dream was clearly having the time of her life, and for that, she was extremely grateful.
Two hours into the party, Fay suddenly couldn’t find Dream anywhere..
She stopped Sophie who she had last seen her around.
"Hey, have you seen Dream?"
"She made a friend, and they’re somewhere jumping around. I introduced her to my best friend’s younger sister. They hit it off immediately," Sophie replied, grinning from ear to ear.
"Oooooohhh, I didn’t know you had a best friend."
"I do. Should I stop by your house when you’re not busy so I can tell you everything that has happened in the last four years?"
"Of course, love. Text me when you want to come, alright?"
"Okay!" She hopped excitedly.
"Good, now I have to go find Dream. She needs to eat something stronger than sweets."
"Should I come with you?"
"Go play, Soph. I’ll go with Fay," Leighton said, walking into them.
"Okay doctor Nice!" She screamed behind her shoulders, as she ran away.
"Shall we?" Leighton asked, and Fay laughed, as they walked ahead in search of Dream.
