THE BILLIONAIRE'S CRYBABY -
Chapter 21: BRUTAL DISMISSAL
Chapter 21: BRUTAL DISMISSAL
The doors to ’Spade’ slid open, ushering Ace in. As he stepped into the lobby of his company, everyone around briefly stopped what they were doing.
His empty hand went into his pocket, as he strode towards his personal elevator.
"Good morning sir," echoed round the room, with everyone stretching out their necks to take a proper look at him.
The women, both old and young, fawned, and so did some of the guys too.
He didn’t acknowledge anyone, rather, kept a straight face as he entered into his elevator.
"He’s so hot!" He heard, just as the doors closed. His lip curved into a cocky smirk, as the elevator journeyed to the top floor.
It stopped, and he got out of it to find his assistant, Grant, waiting for him.
"Good morning Sir," he said, stretching out his hands to collect the briefcase from his boss.
"Why didn’t you meet me downstairs?" He asked, letting the briefcase fall to the ground.
Grant’s palm turned cold, as he dodged the fierceness of his boss’s gaze, by bending to pick up the briefcase.
"I have a really good explanation for that," he said, when he finally gathered the courage to straighten up.
"Not interested in hearing it." He continued towards his office.
"But I really think you should hear it," Grant hurried to catch up with him.
"It’s not important anymore. Save it," Ace warned.
"But sir, you—" his words were intercepted by the appearance of Ace’s personal secretary.
"Good morning sir." The blonde woman greeted.
"Morning Grace. Have any idea why that idiot is acting strange?"
She looked past him towards Grant, who nodded his head, and gestured with his empty hand to carry-on. She shook her head in response, her lip quivering.
Ace sensed something was wrong, but wasn’t in the mood to figure it out. Instead, he walked past her, and pushed the doors of his office open.
As he stepped in, his eyes fell on a woman sitting with crossed legs on the couch. Her head was turned away from him, but she was someone he would recognize even in his dreams.
"Sir—" Grant was calling, when he shut the door behind him. The other man yelped, the door almost slamming into his face.
"You’re so dramatic." Grace rolled her eyes, and returned to her office.
But Grant remained, pushing his ears against the door to eavesdrop.
"Why are you in my office?" Ace moved around to stand in front of Reign.
"Grant let me in," she said in a sultry voice, as she raised her head up to meet him. "You look dashing as always, darling," she drawled.
He took a deep breath, and pressed his hand into a tight fist. Taking a moment to regulate his temper, he pushed the closed fist into his pocket, and threw her a direct gaze. "Grant would never allow you into my office. He’s slow, but not foolish. Grace wouldn’t either. Why are you in my office?" He asked again.
"Because I can? Common baby, are you still mad at my daddy?" She said, rising to her feet.
He cringed at the words ’daddy’ to describe her father. Maybe because she used to call him that when they got intimate. But he couldn’t deny how hot she was. She oozes sexiness, and it was her biggest selling point. She was also a manipulator, so that counted for something too.
"Why would I be mad at your father? I just want to know why you’re here." He remained physically unaffected by her appearance, but deep down, he grew a little hot.
Her leather skirt, shorter than Grant, and that silk shirt tucked into it was simply lethal. She had paired it with stilettoes that elevated her already long legs. She was out for murder this morning, and he knew it would take a big portion of control to be able to withstand her inevitable advances.
"Because he was mean to you?" She said, and took a step closer. "I don’t approve, by the way. He should have been nicer to you," she took another step closer. "And for why I’m here? It’s because I miss you so much. I had a dream about you last night. It got me really hot and bothered." She stopped in front of him, her almond eyes widening like a deers, then very slowly, bit her lips.
There was something about lip biting from a woman that drove him crazy. Only that this time, he wasn’t thinking of the actual person that did it. Instead, an image of Fay appeared in his head, followed closely by the memory of how good her lip tasted. He instantly swallowed hard.
Reign confused his reaction for a green light. Raising her hands, she wrapped them around his neck. "Did you miss me too?" She took another step, until she was body to body with him.
His hands remained in his pocket, as he stared blankly at her. This was usually the time he threw caution to the wind, and bent her over. At this point, he was supposed to be panting hard with his fingers seeking pleasure from her depths.
Contrary to hers, and his own expectations, neither of these things happened. All he could see was Fay. Shy Fay, blushing akin to a tanned skin.
"Step away," he said in a bored tone.
"Why baby? Don’t you miss me?" One of her hands crept down his shirt. Further down it continued, as she maintained eye contact with him. It went past his abdomen, and was about to grab his crotch, when he stepped back.
Her eyes bulged in shock, as she glared at him. "What are you doing right now?" She questioned harshly.
"Oh now you want to ask questions? I asked why you’re in my office, and you’re yet to give me a reasonable response." He hissed.
"I said I came to see you. You used to love it when I made these unplanned stops. What changed Ace? When did things change?" Her face spread into a confused frown, as she waited for an explanation.
Unknown to her, it was a question he asked himself too. He used to want her a lot. Her body was good for times he needed urgent release, and vice versa. They had explosive, mind-blowing sex, but that was it.
Their conversations were always shallow. She began to insert herself into too many aspects of his life. Her father wanted to control him. And to top off the ever growing list, he suspected she worked with his Aunt, even if she knew how much they despised each other.
"Things change," he said dismissively, as he turned around and walked to his table.
"Things change? That’s what you’re telling me right now? It’s because of that wench, isn’t it?"
"Who?" Ace’s brow lifted, as he leaned against his table, staring at the raging eyes of his ex lover.
"The girl you wifed up."
"Fay?" He chuckled in amusement. "You think I broke up with you because of Fay?"
"Then explain why. It seems to me you were seeing her whilst still with me. That’s fucked up!" Her voice broke, and for the first time, he saw a really vulnerable side of Reign.
"Fay had nothing to do with any of this. We had already ended before I married Fay."
"You think I’m not aware of that? It’s the fucking principle Ace! You were seeing her whilst seeing me too. Except you’re telling me now you met her once, and decided to get married to her," Her eyes immediately lifted in suspicion. "Please don’t tell me you randomly met her and decided to marry her," she said in an accusatory tone.
Ace was stuck. If he told her the truth, she would run to his aunt. The only available option was to admit he did a double on her. Making up his mind to do what he had to do, he looked straight into her eyes. "You’re right, Reign. I was seeing Fay at the same time we dated. Happy now?"
She whimpered, and took two staggering steps back. "You cheated on me?" She asked in disbelief.
"You did first," he countered, shoving the hypocrisy of the moment in her face.
"We were just starting out. Not necessarily exclusive. And we moved past that, didn’t we?"
"Maybe you did, but I didn’t. The truth is, whether you did or not, it wouldn’t have changed anything. The second I saw Fay, I knew I had to have her. It wasn’t just the same with you." He shrugged, twisting the dagger already in her chest.
"You bastard!" She spat.
"You’re kinda right about that, considering ’daddy’ is dead. Now if you’ll excuse me, I have work to do." He pulled away from the desk, and went to his seat.
"You’re despicable!" She said, in total disbelief and disarray.
He didn’t respond, and it further made her blood boil. "This isn’t over Ace. You better watch that whore of yours. If I ever see her, I’ll tear her skin with my nails, and send pieces of her flesh to you as a souvenir."
His eyes instantly darkened, as rage surged through him like an electric current. "You wouldn’t dare!" His teeth clattered.
"Watch me!" She swiftly turned around, and marched out of his office. The aftermath of her gory threat, floating in the air.
