Chapter 339: Chapter 338

Old Lady Blake’s voice suddenly rose, "You said Ivy had an accident? What happened? You better explain it clearly to me!"

Edwin Blake’s voice was full of exhaustion, "Everything is resolved now, don’t worry, Grandma. I’m here; rest assured, Ivy River is no longer in danger."

"How can I not worry, no wonder you ran off so quickly earlier. My heart was racing for hours, it just felt off, sigh."

The Old Lady let out a long sigh at this point, "Next time, inform me earlier about these things. Now get the car ready; I want to go see Ivy."

"No need, don’t come over. Stay home and wait for me and Ivy River to return and visit you."

Old Lady Blake was relentless, "No way, I must go see Ivy. What if Jonah Wiles, that brat, finds out and thinks I don’t care about his daughter?"

"Ivy River is fine; she beat up all the kidnappers herself and didn’t get hurt."

Edwin Blake’s words were completely ineffective.

The Old Lady shouted angrily, "When I say I’m going, I’m going. Are you not understanding my words?"

"Okay, you can come, but what about those two kids? How will you explain to them that Ivy River had an accident? Have you thought about that?"

The Old Lady fell silent at this.

Mainly because Fatty and Emmy are too clever; if Edwin Blake doesn’t come back and she goes to Seaton herself, it’s hard for those two little guys not to think something’s up.

"I’ll take them to kindergarten tomorrow morning and then head to Seaton."

The Old Lady waved a big hand, directly making the decision.

Edwin Blake felt like his head was splitting, "I’m going back to Seaton tomorrow morning. Please don’t come; you’re not in the best of health, so why do you insist on running around all the time?"

"You’re going home? Just try going back, then when I get there, we’ll go back together—it’s decided."

The Old Lady seemed to think of something, "Where’s Ivy? Open a video call with me; I need to see if this girl is really okay or if you’re fooling this old woman."

Hearing this, Edwin Blake was both amused and helpless.

"Grandma, I have no reason to deceive you, right? You know what Ivy River is like, don’t you?"

"No way, I want to see. Will you show me or not?"

The Old Lady played the rogue.

Edwin Blake helplessly coaxed her, "I’ll chase after Ivy River and show you later, okay, Grandma? Right now I’m not beside Ivy River; I’m dealing with some things."

"What things?"

"Bryson Chaser sent people over to support, now that everything’s done, I need to get them all back in place and make some arrangements."

Edwin Blake explained briefly.

The Old Lady understood immediately upon hearing Bryson Chaser’s arrangements.

She confirmed again, "Is everything really resolved? You’re not off to gather people for a rescue operation, are you?"

Edwin Blake directly hung up the call.

He made a video call back to the Old Lady, "Grandma, take a look; aren’t these the people in black? Didn’t a fight just happen here? I’m not lying to you; now we really need them to go back."

Seeing this, the Old Lady felt even more unsettled.

"Oh dear, why does it look so bad? Where’s Ivy? Is she okay?"

"Let me see her; I can’t be sure my granddaughter is alright if you don’t show me. Edwin Blake, you can’t be so selfish!"

Listening to the Old Lady’s increasingly intense voice, Edwin Blake directly flipped the camera.

He grabbed someone and directly said, "Can you tell if Ivy River was in any trouble earlier? Be honest; I just grabbed this person without any prior arrangement."

The person he grabbed said directly:

"I don’t know who Ivy River is either, but I know those guys in black, who were beaten badly by us."

Edwin Blake said, "Well, she was the woman in charge just now, who managed to control Lady Demon, and she came in tied up with ropes and then directly started beating up the guys in black."

"Oh, when you put it that way, I know—no issues at all. She can eat and drink with the traffickers, like a godsend."

Edwin Blake continued to ask, "Was she beaten to a pulp by anyone?"

The soldier immediately showed a fearful expression, "She was the one who beat others to a pulp; she didn’t have a scratch."

"Grandma, you heard that, didn’t you? If not, I’ll continue to let others talk bad about your granddaughter."

Upon hearing these words, the Old Lady’s heart instantly settled.

She smiled, "Alright, alright, my heart can finally rest easy. As long as Ivy is okay, later, when you find Ivy, remember to video call me."

Edwin Blake checked the time.

"Grandma, you should hurry up and rest. It’s late at night now; aren’t you going to sleep?"

"No, my heart has been troubled all night. If you don’t answer, I’ll have to call Harry Ross."

The Old Lady touched her heart as she spoke, "I just said, I haven’t heard anything about a big project at the company lately; why did you run off suddenly?"

"I’m sorry, Grandma. Next time, I’ll be sure to let you know beforehand so you aren’t worried."

Edwin Blake dutifully began apologizing.

The Old Lady knew Edwin Blake was handling things now, so she said no more, "Alright, I won’t sleep; call me after you finish handling things so I can see Ivy tonight."

"Alright, I know, you should go rest now!"

After Edwin Blake hung up the phone, he breathed a sigh of relief.

Then began arranging things.

Outside the factory.

Ivy River instructed Noah Wilson, "Take only this pig-headed guy back to Seaton. The rest of them probably don’t know the key stuff; send them to the police station."

"Edwin Blake is probably not leaving now. Can’t he take this fat pig back when he goes? Why do I have to escort him?"

Noah Wilson wailed in agony, "I never want these sad tasks to fall on me anymore."

"True, so Noah, wait for Edwin Blake out back, then come to my place later."

Ivy River said, patting Noah Wilson’s shoulder, giving an encouraging look.

"Here, you’re the person I trust the most. You’re worth it! Only you can handle this right; the others can’t."

Noah Wilson was reluctantly tearful, "What the heck is Edwin Blake doing back there? Why is he taking so long?"

Ivy River waved her hand with a smile, "We’re off for now. I’ve been worn out this evening; now I have to visit the hospital, you wrap things up."

"Go ahead, I know I have to stay here with Noah Wilson."

Leon Peterson stayed behind quite consciously.

After Ivy River and Gale Wiles left, he said shamelessly, "See, in critical times, it’s me who sticks by your side. So treat me better after this!"

Noah Wilson glanced over, already in a foul mood, and with Leon Peterson’s incessant chatter nearby.

Her internal anger just kept growing.

She raised her hand sharply and landed a heavy blow on Leon Peterson.

Leon Peterson sighed deeply, "Noah Wilson, you’re not a woman! Damn, hitting so hard! We’re friends fighting side by side."

As he ran away, he spotted Edwin Blake and immediately dashed over, shouting urgently, "Edwin Blake, what took you so long to come out!"

Edwin Blake looked bewildered.
