Chapter 298 - 297
Chapter 298: Chapter 297
"Okay, if you want, I can have someone record a video for you later; anyway, there are so many people on-site, surely someone will post it online."
Ivy River said and then turned to leave.
Once she arrived at the observation room.
She walked up and took the cloth out of Cyrus Brown’s mouth, smiling, "Did you see the whole process just now?"
Cyrus Brown remained silent.
"Not speaking means you saw it. So, what now? The routine check-up is done, Old Sir Jones doesn’t have any issues," Is there anything else you want to say? I’ll wait for you to finish before I proceed with the punishment."
Ivy River was known for holding grudges.
Ryan King, who knew Cyrus Brown, had arrived at the scene at some point.
He stepped up and tried to persuade, "Just admit your mistake, Cyrus. Ivy River doesn’t fight battles she’s unsure of. If you show a good attitude, maybe she’ll let you go."
Cyrus Brown’s mouth became stiff, and he glared at Ryan King, "A cat crying for a mouse’s sake is hypocritical; don’t say useless things here. If you’re speaking for Ivy River, then please leave."
Ryan King was worried sick, "Believe me, continuing to fight Ivy River won’t benefit you in any way. Think it over carefully; the conclusion is already settled, you’ve lost. So, have a better attitude and try to save your job..."
Cyrus Brown snapped, "Ryan King, I’m telling you for the last time, I don’t trust you. Get lost, and don’t appear before me."
Griffin King shook his head and pulled him aside, "Ryan, you need to know not everyone’s words can be listened to, let’s just watch."
Ivy River cheerfully asked, "Doctor King, why are you here? Surely not to see me in trouble after hearing the news?"
"No, that’s not it. Evelyn is competing; I came to watch my niece’s competition. I only found out about the situation after I arrived. You have to believe me!"
Ryan King was scared and waved his hands.
"Alright, Evelyn King did well in the competition—should be wrapping up. Their operations are all minor surgeries."
Ivy River curiously asked Griffin King.
Griffin King quickly replied, "Almost done, Evelyn King is finishing up, Fiora King has already ended and is in post-op checks. There are two others who are relatively slow."
Upon hearing this, Ivy River showed disdain, "So slow, such minor surgeries should be controlled within forty minutes. If it’s a series of car accidents, then there wouldn’t be enough operation rooms and doctors."
Griffin King was stunned, then realized, "They’re mainly young doctors, their speed will gradually improve."
She thought: You can’t truly expect everyone to be like you!
Forty minutes, that’s years of clinical experience!
Anesthesia, pre-op examination, plus opening the abdomen and suturing all take at least an hour.
Even a C-section takes forty minutes!
"This makes it seem like I’m being sensationalist; when public opinion ferments, I hope the judges can testify for me. I should have taken my time with the surgery; blame my speed."
Ivy River’s self-praise induced awkwardness in everyone.
Especially Lewis Chadwick.
He was extremely awkward; initially, Ivy River had pretty much won him respect today, but now that’s all gone.
With just one sentence, he wanted to bury himself.
How can one be so narcissistic!
"Cyrus Brown, speak, when are you planning to post your comments on the forum? Check them before you post to avoid weird remarks, otherwise I’ll directly counter on the forum, and your reputation will be even more worthless."
Hearing this, Cyrus Brown was taken aback and said in shock, "That patient hasn’t fully recovered, who can say if there will be relapses in a few days."
"But that’s not what you said earlier, Doctor Brown, are you planning to default?"
Ivy River lazily spoke; she stood there with a relaxed posture, yet her eyes were sharp.
As if she could kill at any moment.
Sure enough.
"But it doesn’t matter if you default, I can wait, I must have this apology letter. Old Sir Jones should be discharged in five days, so let’s trouble Doctor Brown to stay at our Medical University for a week. I won’t let you return to Phoenix City."
Ivy River finished speaking and turned to leave.
Cyrus Brown shouted angrily, "You’re illegally detaining me! This behavior is wrong, hope you understand!"
Edwin Blake raised an eyebrow slightly and walked up to him, "Doctor Brown, the Medical University needs you for a few days, is there a problem? Phoenix City Hospital should have issued a notice; take a look."
Cyrus Brown glanced at the rope on his body, "Untie me."
Edwin Blake coldly said, "Someone get her phone out and show it to him, or the doctors at Phoenix City Hospital open your work emails and take a look."
Ryan King appeared directly, thoughtfully unlocking it and placing it before Cyrus Brown.
"Take a look, it’s real! My gosh, then you’ll be around Seaton for a while; we can have meals and drinks together!"
Ryan King suddenly lowered his voice, "Don’t make a big deal out of this; I’ve suffered losses from Ivy River. So did my apprentice."
Cyrus Brown looked through, gritting his teeth and said, "You’re abusing authority!"
"Alexander, record it all, he’s slandering me. Later, when things are settled, or if there’s stock fluctuation, he’ll bear legal responsibility."
Alexander Hodges immediately warmly spoke, "Everything’s recorded, leave it to me and don’t worry."
Upon hearing this, Cyrus Brown’s face turned pale, he stammered, "I didn’t mean to, President Blake, I’m sorry, that was a slip of the tongue."
Edwin Blake’s voice was indifferent, "Okay, then stay here, and I’ll come see you in five days."
He said, then turned to leave.
Cyrus Brown instantly felt like the sky was falling...
Edwin Blake was such a figure, not to mention what kind of existence the Blake Clan Group was, everyone knows.
Offending this man meant bleak future prospects.
Ryan King looked at him pitifully, sighed, "Initially, I advised you to listen to me and simply apologize to Ivy River, then nothing would have happened; your job would be safe. Later, find someone to boost your public image, praise you for daring to act responsibly, wouldn’t it be over?"
Cyrus Brown blankly replied, "Did you leave the Medical University because of Ivy River?"
"Really not listening, huh. Sigh, I said I fell under her hand, yet you chose to be stubborn with Ivy River. Now, Edwin Blake has intervened, what will you do then!"
Ryan King was helpless.
"Previously, you were doing well at the Medical University, and suddenly resigned, saying you were going home to retire, all because of Ivy River, right?"
Cyrus Brown earnestly inquired.
Ryan King helplessly replied, "Yes, all because of her. If I hadn’t paid a heavy price, how would I know she’s formidable? I used to be as arrogant as you, now seeing Ivy River makes me jittery!"
This was true.
He now had a physiological fear of Ivy River.
"So what should I do now?"
Cyrus Brown finally felt a bit scared.
But it was too late.
Ryan King lamented, "Maybe you should go and apologize submissively to Ivy River? Admit your mistake and yield a bit; better than leaving Phoenix City, right? Once you leave, you can only start a small clinic like me..."
"I’m not going; I don’t believe Ivy River can destroy me!" Cyrus Brown couldn’t bring himself to do it.
"Fine, hold on to your dignity, then I’ll just wait and see your joke!"
Ryan King prodded Cyrus Brown a few times before turning to leave.
Cyrus Brown yelled, "Don’t leave, come and untie me! It’s so uncomfortable!"
