Chapter 286: Revised: Chapter 285
Ivy River directly said, "No need for so much nonsense, can we speed it up?"
Edwin Blake sneered at Alexander Hodges, "The more arrogant you are now, the more miserable you’ll be in two hours."
Alexander Hodges remained unfazed.
He immediately started a flurry of photography.
Ivy River watched with great amusement, subconsciously said, "Edwin Blake, make a V sign, let me see."
Edwin Blake said helplessly, "My arms are full of Silver Needles, big sis, how do you expect me to make a V sign?"
"Then just smile, the ancients said women shouldn’t show their teeth when they laugh, but you’re a man, show all eight teeth, smile and show them all."
Seeing Ivy River having so much fun, Edwin Blake decided to play along.
Half an hour later.
Alexander Hodges finally produced a "masterpiece" that Ivy River was satisfied with.
"Now I have to remove the Silver Needles from you. You must control your emotions and not get too excited, or else it will backfire."
After saying that, Ivy River began removing the needles.
Edwin Blake watched emotionlessly as Alexander Hodges bolted away.
Ivy River packed up her medicine box, "You can clean up this mess yourself later, I have to go pick up the kids, I’m leaving now."
"Alexander went to pick them up."
Edwin Blake said casually.
Ivy River was shocked, "Impossible, didn’t Alexander just run away? Besides, even if she went to pick up the kids, they don’t know her, also..."
"The teacher will definitely call to confirm. If he’s gone, you don’t need to go, just clean the house."
Edwin Blake confidently arranged everything.
Ivy River snorted coldly, "Fine, since he’s gone, I’m relieved, I’m going home."
Edwin Blake grabbed her arm, smiling, "Help me up, I’m all sore."
"Get up yourself."
"If you’re sure about making me get up myself, I can’t guarantee what I’ll do."
"You’re so pretentious, do people outside know President Blake is like this?"
Ivy River helped Edwin Blake up.
Then she threw his clothes on the bed and left immediately.
As if driven by something inexplicable.
Ivy River walked to the study next door, pushed the door open and saw it was exactly the same as before.
On the desk in the study was a single photo of her.
She was smiling very happily.
Only she knew how that smile came about.
Back then, when they had their wedding photos taken, Edwin Blake was late.
She couldn’t wait, and the makeup artist and photographer kept asking her to pose first, saying they would take joint photos later when Edwin arrived.
Ivy River agreed, at first putting on a proper expression, until she could no longer smile, and just decided not to smile at all.
So there was a solo wedding photo hanging in the master bedroom.
Unfortunately, the master bedroom no longer had it now.
Even the only high-tech post-processed photo of the two of them was cut apart by Edwin Blake.
The more Ivy River thought about it, the sadder she became. Just as she turned around, she saw Edwin Blake leaning against the door frame.
He wore a casual smile at the corner of his mouth.
"Can’t look anymore? Feeling nostalgic?"
Ivy River replied calmly, "What’s there to feel nostalgic about, it’s all in the past. If anything, I think President Blake is the one feeling nostalgic, being able to move things over exactly the same, truly impressive capitalist."
"Did you notice something missing from the house?"
Ivy River said directly, "No, this is your house, not mine, how would I know if something’s missing?"
"Your solo wedding photo in the master bedroom is gone, and so is our joint photo, currently being restored. I wonder who cut our photo apart."
"Really? What does that have to do with me? President Blake doesn’t need to inform me."
Edwin Blake said, "Don’t you want to know who cut our photo apart? And it’s not just that one, all the photos involving me were smashed to pieces."
"Don’t want to know, it wasn’t me anyway."
"It wasn’t you, but it was your child, you have an indirect responsibility."
Ivy River frowned, "You need to be responsible for what you say, how come I don’t know about this?"
Edwin Blake directly presented the evidence.
"This is the evidence from moving day, Fatty and Emmy were here."
Ivy River silently sighed, her kids were really something.
They didn’t even think to cover their tracks.
Well, now they were caught red-handed.
She remained calm and lied, "That’s just the entrance camera footage, there’s no clear evidence from inside the house. How can you prove my kids did it?"
"Why would they come to my house for no reason?"
"Yeah, you said it yourself. They were curious during the move and came to take a look, what’s wrong with that? Besides, didn’t you also climb over the wall to my house? Even climbing into bed at night!"
Ivy River’s face turned red as she spoke.
"So you’re not admitting it?"
"Yeah, unless you have unmistakable evidence, I won’t admit it."
Edwin Blake sneered, "Fine! Fine, since you’re being stubborn, let’s go to your house and see."
"What for? What’s there at my house worth your concern?"
"To find evidence!"
Edwin Blake said through gritted teeth.
"I won’t let you, that’s my private space. If you enter without my consent, that’s invading my privacy, you know how serious that is."
"Using the law to suppress me? Fine, Ivy River, seems like you’ve grown up."
Ivy River raised her eyebrows, "Glad you understand."
"What if I insist on going?"
"Try and you’ll see, besides, what if you don’t find any evidence?"
Edwin Blake directly said, "If there’s no evidence, I’ll move out immediately, won’t live here anymore, and won’t appear in front of you except for medical check-ups, deal?"
Ivy River looked at him skeptically.
"Really, if I’m lying, you can tell Grandma."
Ivy River finally believed him, leisurely said, "Okay, go ahead."
"And if there’s evidence in your house, what then?"
Ivy River said confidently, "If there’s evidence, Fatty and Emmy will apologize to you, so what? They are your kids, I don’t believe you’d hit them."
Edwin Blake: "..."
He felt a moment of exhaustion.
"Didn’t you say they weren’t my kids before? Now you’re admitting it?"
"Yeah, when my kids are about to get in trouble, you’re definitely their biological father. If you dare, then go ahead and hit them."
Ivy River’s attitude successfully angered Edwin Blake.
He turned her around, gripping her chin and staring at her intently, "Ivy River, do you know you’re being hypocritical!"
"I know, but I’m just stating the facts."
Forced to look up, Ivy River’s gaze met Edwin Blake’s dark eyes.
On an impulse, she stood on tiptoe, whispering in his ear, "Of course, if you hit Fatty, do you think Fatty would let you off?"
Then she turned and walked away.
Edwin Blake’s ears suddenly turned red, he grabbed Ivy River, his voice tinged with a hint of restraint, "Ivy River, do you understand the principle of a child’s debt being paid by the mother?"
