Chapter 280: Revised: Chapter 279

Cyrus Brown naturally noticed the situation.

He gave Fiora King a look and then started playing with his phone.

The patient continued to rant, "If you keep this up, I’ll go see Ivy River instead. I feel like she treats patients faster than you, and here I am enduring your nonsense!"

"It’s ridiculous. Do you treat patients like this at Phoenix City Hospital too?"

Fiora King felt very aggrieved and could only say, "Get in line to see the doctor, don’t waste my time anymore, hurry up."

The patients grumbled and reluctantly continued to wait for their turn.

Not long after,

Ivy River’s side began to fall into chaos.

Fiora King sneered, "What do you have to say now? Isn’t your precious Ivy River having problems too?"

Ivy River rubbed her forehead and said, "Lucian Knight, I don’t want to waste time talking to you. If you keep causing trouble, I’ll ask you to leave."

"Heh, causing trouble? Why are you so slow with your diagnoses? I can’t wait. I have a million-dollar project meeting soon. If it gets delayed, can you take responsibility? If not, then hurry up and see me!"

Lucian Knight immediately started stirring up trouble.

Ivy River laughed, "I can take responsibility. Whose contract is it that you’re negotiating, moving from Phoenix City to Seaton? I want to see what kind of deal it is. If you don’t succeed, I’ll give you two million myself."

Hearing that,

Everyone was stunned.

Especially the doctors, who were outright shocked.

"Medical University is famous for its good benefits, but this is too good!"

"Not sure. I saw on Twitter that Ivy River is well-connected. She treats the Traditional Medicine Department to high tea, and the worst she gets is Sapphire grade, with no limit, even buying for their families. And she pays out of her own pocket!"

"That’s so generous... I’m in South City, not far from Seaton. I might change jobs to Medical University just for that high tea!"

Lucian Knight heard the murmurs around him.

For a moment, he didn’t know what to say.

Ivy River directly said, "You can think about it, either get in line or leave. Don’t worry, I’ll handle the consequences. Nineteen patients or not, I’m not afraid."

Lucian Knight was at a loss.

Just then,

his phone rang.

He glanced at it, and with a determined expression, said, "No, you’re seeing me next. Oh no! You have to see me now. If you don’t, then none of the people behind me will get to see you."

Ivy River didn’t indulge him, "Is that so? I’ll give you one last chance. Think carefully before you answer. Do you want to follow the process and get treated properly, or cause trouble and risk losing everything?"

With that, Ivy River’s gaze pierced through the crowd, coldly staring at Cyrus Brown.

Cyrus Brown met her gaze fearlessly and shot back.

Lucian Knight was stunned, "Wha... what do you mean by losing everything? I don’t understand! Can you explain? I need you to see me now!"

"I don’t understand, but you have three seconds to think. Either get in line or face the consequences."

Ivy River finished, then began counting,

"Three, two..."

Just as she was about to say one,

The surrounding patients erupted in anger:

"Who are you? Are you deliberately causing trouble? At first, we didn’t say anything, but now you’re getting worse, threatening the doctor?"

"Are you jealous of Doctor River? Are you a spy sent by a rival hospital?"

"It’s only the first round. Even if Doctor River is in the lead, it doesn’t affect you. Can’t you just sit still?"

Especially the patients who had been seen by Ivy River, all gathered together to condemn Lucian Knight.

"Ridiculous, Doctor River was very professional when she saw me. She diagnosed the issue and moved on to the next person."

"We need doctors like her. What do you want instead, to flatter the doctor and beg for attention? Then get a minor illness blown out of proportion as a serious condition?"

The patients were relentless with their words.

Ivy River pinched her brow, "One."

As soon as she said it, Lucian Knight hastily said, "I’ll get in line, I’ll get in line!"

Watching him obediently get in line.

Ivy River glanced lightly at Cyrus Brown, silently saying, "You’re not enough."

Cyrus Brown looked at the time.

He chuckled.

Fiora King’s progress was already three-quarters done, while Ivy River had only completed two-thirds due to the delay.

The remaining patients had more severe conditions, as per the competition’s rules.

So Ivy River’s quick progress at the start might not continue.

And he still had a trump card to play.

The championship title of this round had to go to Phoenix City Hospital.

Fiora King held her breath, hurriedly diagnosing and writing case notes in a very sloppy manner.

For some patients, she barely made any effort to investigate thoroughly.

She just addressed whatever discomfort they mentioned.

Ivy River, however, wasted no extra words, "No major issue. Go get a colonoscopy, then follow up at Medical University. No need for Traditional Medicine treatment."

"Next, you have no major issues. Your heart races because you like exciting things. Watch less at night, more in the morning. You’re in your sixties, don’t treat your body like it’s in its twenties."

"Get a brain CT scan. Seems like early-stage cerebral infarction. If you can’t afford it, you can put it on my tab. For the prescription, buy and take the medication. It’s not expensive, sir."

...

With each "Next" from Ivy River,

It was soon Lucian Knight’s turn.

Ivy River glanced at him and deliberately said, "So soon, it’s your turn? Sit down, let’s see what’s wrong."

Lucian Knight sat down nervously.

He looked over at Fiora King’s side where there were still five patients.

Ivy River’s diagnosing speed was astonishing.

Most doctors couldn’t keep up with her pace, no wonder she completely crushed Evelyn King in the last competition.

With only five left, how could he delay it further?

Suddenly, Ivy River stood up and said, "You must be thinking about how to delay time. It’s fine, I’ll wait 20 minutes and then come back. No need to worry."

Lucian Knight was at a loss, unable to stop Ivy River.

The host saw Ivy River get up and quickly followed, "Doctor River, you still have one patient left. What are you doing now? Looking for something?"

"No, I’m going to the audience seats to lie down and rest for twenty minutes, give other hospitals some more time."

"Um...you could finish and then rest. We’re in a competition now, please go back and see the patient," the host suggested with a smile, "If you’re quick, you could be first!"

Ivy River replied nonchalantly, "I’m not interested in being first. Besides, I think some people don’t want me to be first. It’s not good to take someone’s cake. I’m a smart person."

The host quickly interjected, "Doctor River might just be tired and needs a break. But I see the contestants are almost done, so it’s better if you don’t stay away too long."

"I worry that Director Brown will be unhappy. It’s better if I leave now."

Ivy River didn’t hide her words at all.

The host was stunned...

Lewis Chadwick, watching anxiously from the audience, glanced at the man a few rows away, Edwin Blake.

His handsome face was dark.

He stared intensely at Ivy River on stage.
