Chapter 235: Chapter Two Hundred Thirty-Four

Request to change leave to a business trip

Before he could make sense of it, Ivy River had already explained everything and walked directly behind him.

She used a needle to restore Alexander Hodges’ upper body sensation.

"Sorry, the pen accidentally hit your numb point just now."

Alexander Hodges regained his senses and grumpily said, "I couldn’t move at all because of a numb point? Sis, what are you doing!"

Ivy River calmly replied, "You’re too weak. A normal person, like Lewis Chadwick, if he touched it, he could still run and jump, maybe just feel a numbing sensation in the arm. But you, you couldn’t move at all, tsk tsk."

"Exactly, Director River is right, I totally agree with her."

Lewis Chadwick quickly chimed in. This rare opportunity to tease him was something he absolutely wouldn’t let slip by.

Alexander Hodges was furious, "That’s impossible! How could I be weak!"

Ivy River glanced at him lightly, "Maybe you really are weak, Eldest Young Master Hodges. How about you go and get a registration number, I’ll write you a prescription to help out with that."

Alexander Hodges closed his eyes and took a deep breath.

Do not mess with her.

Absolutely don’t make Sis angry, or Second Brother will come after me again. He calmed himself and said with a smile, "Sis, whatever you need to discuss with Lewis Chadwick, go ahead, I’m fine now."

Ivy River glanced and directly asked, "The traditional medicine competition is starting soon. Who are you giving the other spot to?"

"Well... Evelyn King can’t participate now, should we have Doctor Smith take part instead?"

Actually, Lewis Chadwick had already guessed about this.

The traditional medicine competition was imminent, and the Medical University needed to submit names quickly.

Ivy River immediately refused, "Let Evelyn King participate, Doctor Grayson isn’t skilled enough, or how about giving this spot to Riverland Hospital?"

Lewis Chadwick’s pupils contracted.

He firmly refused, "No way, absolutely not. I’d rather send a trainee than let Riverland Hospital have it. That would make people think our hospital has no one."

"Then let Evelyn King participate. She has some ability, or you can arrange some people for me to choose from."

Lewis Chadwick instinctively replied, "Then let Evelyn King participate. The preliminary round is only two days. If you don’t want to see her, you can avoid the dates."

"Mm, and by the way, am I on leave or on business trip these days?"

"Business trip?" Lewis Chadwick was very confused. Where did this talk of a business trip come from?

Ivy River nodded, "Why did you go to Riverland City a few days ago?"

"For a business trip."

"Then when I met you there, I was still treating patients at Riverland Hospital. Tell me, should my leave be considered a business trip or not?"

Lewis Chadwick finally understood Ivy River’s point, "Business trip, business trip. You were on a business trip with me and then we encountered that car accident."

Ivy River continued, "So I should get business trip allowance too, right?"

Lewis Chadwick froze, then quickly reacted, "Yes, you should. Director level receives a daily allowance of five hundred bucks. I’ll get someone to add it in later."

"So those few days I was on business trip should count as adjustment leave, no salary but I can take holidays off?"

Lewis Chadwick nodded vigorously.

"Okay, then I’ll take a day off tomorrow."

Lewis Chadwick was nodding, but then froze the next second, "You just got back from leave today, and you’re asking for leave again tomorrow?"

The underlying tone was, don’t you want this job?

Ivy River nodded, looking fearless, "Yes, I have a matter tomorrow, can’t I take leave? I requested three days’ leave, so even if weekends are considered overtime, I should get a day off yesterday. Why are you..."

Alexander Hodges interjected appropriately, "You can take a break, rest tomorrow. Lewis Chadwick already agreed. If there’s a problem, I’ll take care of it, Sis."

Ivy River gave him a fake smile, "Thank you, President Hodges, and don’t forget the overtime pay and rescheduled leave."

Lewis Chadwick: "..."

What a situation.

One is a shareholder’s buddy, slightly displeased could withdraw investment.

The other is a star doctor, always asking for leave, even more impossible to provoke.

If he had known, he wouldn’t have let Alexander Hodges over. Not only did he not help but made things worse.

Ivy River saw he was silent, "President Chadwick, oh no, Director Chadwick, is there a problem? If I can’t take leave tomorrow, I might as well resign."

Lewis Chadwick thought Ivy River would say, I won’t take a break.

Who knew she was so stubborn!

But with her current medical skills, if she wanted to leave, countless people would want her.

Even Riverland Hospital would offer a high salary to hire her.

Thinking of this, he could only suppress his displeasure and smile, "No problem, I was just considering who would cover your work when you rest."

"Work? I have no work tomorrow. It’s a sharing class, and I’ve already arranged for Isabella Yeaton to take over tomorrow."

Lewis Chadwick felt even worse hearing this.

After preparing everything, she told him.

He spoke gloomily, "Okay, anything else?"

Ivy River shook her head, "No, you can go now. I’m about to start calling patients."

"Alright."

Lewis Chadwick said and walked straight out.

Didn’t care about Alexander Hodges’ situation at all.

Alexander Hodges called out from behind, "Lewis Chadwick, could you care about me? You are really heartless."

"Get out quickly, patients are coming in soon. Either shut up or get moving."

Ivy River issued an order to leave.

Alexander Hodges could only nod repeatedly, taking small steps to chase after him.

Ivy River started seeing patients, the morning passed quickly.

Madeline Woods came back from shopping, practically collapsing on the couch.

"Ivy, I’m so tired!"

Ivy River looked at the spoils scattered around, "I’m tired too. How about we switch, you see patients here, and I’ll go out shopping. I definitely wouldn’t complain."

Madeline Woods giggled, "How went your morning? How many patients did you see? This afternoon, I’ll accompany you and watch how you treat them."

"As long as you don’t cause trouble, anything’s fine."

In Ivy River’s mind, as long as Madeline Woods didn’t create chaos, she’d be thankful.

"Oh come on, how can you say that about me? Doesn’t your conscience hurt?"

Madeline Woods quickly got up, walked beside Ivy River, and began whining, "By the way, who was that jerk this morning!"

Thinking of Alexander Hodges’ actions towards her, she was furious.

"Alexander Hodges, the eldest son of the Hodges Family, Edwin Blake’s childhood friend, grew up together, and he’s ranked fourth,"

Ivy River said flatly.

Madeline Woods was shocked, "No wonder I didn’t like him at first glance, felt so repelled. Turns out, he’s linked to Edwin! If I’d known, I would’ve made sure he couldn’t have kids!"

"If you made sure he couldn’t have kids, then Ann would need a surname change, and Old Master Hodges would never forgive you."

Ivy River stood up, "Come on, stop thinking about it. It’s already done, thinking won’t help. Let’s go eat."

"What to eat?"

"Cafeteria."

Ivy River said and walked out, Madeline Woods mumbled but quickly caught up.

Hospital cafeteria.

The staff meals are quite healthy.

Ivy River and Madeline Woods got their lunch and found a place to sit.

Madeline Woods suddenly exclaimed, "Ivy, look, isn’t that Edwin Blake?!"

Ivy River quickly looked up.

Their eyes met briefly.

Ivy River quickly looked down, her face slightly flushed.
