Chapter 233: Chapter Two Hundred Thirty-Two

Come to my office in a bit.

The principal was very puzzled. "Aren’t you going to threaten my wife?"

"Yeah."

"Then what leverage do you have against us? Could you give us some leniency? If my wife did anything wrong, I apologize on her behalf. I’m sorry!"

The principal immediately stepped back and bowed at a ninety-degree angle.

Ivy River paused but did not stop his actions.

After a while, she spoke calmly, "Your wife has done nothing wrong. What I sent her were evidences of Vesper Johnson’s infidelity and your cover-up crime."

"What cover-up crime?"

"Helping to conceal the surveillance and still attempting to keep her working at school, doesn’t that count as a cover-up?"

The principal wiped the cold sweat from his forehead and quickly replied, "Yes, yes, of course it counts."

Madeline Woods, standing nearby, asked in confusion, "Ivy, how did you get the surveillance footage?"

The principal’s gaze immediately focused on Ivy River.

Ivy River spoke lightly, "I had nothing to do last night, so I accessed your backend system and conveniently copied a video."

The principal’s mouth twitched.

Conveniently?

Was it really convenient and not intentional?

"Oh right, I also fixed a bug for you. Normally, I charge a lot for bug fixes, but this time I won’t, since my kids go to your school."

The principal was at a loss for words but had to keep smiling, "Thank you, Emmy’s mom, you’re so kind."

"About the uniforms, could you help cover part of the cost? With so many students, I’ll go bankrupt."

The principal cursed inwardly but kept a calm face, "The school can fund it, but if we do, it might have to be for all the students, to be fair. Can your factory handle that?"

All of them?

Ivy River snorted coldly, "I mean, can’t you chip in a bit from your own pocket?"

"Well... well..." The principal hesitated but finally decided, "Alright! You calculate the cost and I’ll transfer the money, but let’s keep it confidential. Just say it was a donation from you."

The mess Vesper Johnson caused was no small matter.

He could still afford the tens of thousands for the uniforms.

If spending money could buy peace, he was willing.

Ivy River readily accepted, "Fine, as they say, better to give up some money than your integrity. Just let Vesper Johnson leave normally, without rumors of her being fired."

Hearing this, the principal’s smile almost reached his ears, "Thank you."

"No need to thank me yet. Just remember to reimburse me for half—or rather, 30% when the uniforms are made."

Ivy River still felt a bit guilty.

The principal was even happier, "Alright!"

After Vesper and Ann apologized, Ivy River grabbed the reluctant Madeline Woods and left.

In the car.

Madeline Woods grumbled, "You didn’t let me say much today. I’m really angry."

"Then be angry. Once you get out, go handle your responsibilities. I need to drop by the hospital. I haven’t been to work for days; need to show my face to avoid a pay cut."

Ivy River started the car.

Madeline Woods was still displeased, "I’m going to the hospital with you. I have questions for you on the way."

Ivy River glanced at her and drove off.

Madeline Woods’ mouth did not stop moving.

"Did you do this on purpose? Was everything part of your plan? Why didn’t you tell me you watched the surveillance video yesterday?"

"Why didn’t you let me speak today? I’m also Ann’s mom. Why?"

"What you did to me was so unfair. Do you know how awful it felt to be kept in the dark?"

Seeing Ivy River driving with a cold face, she attempted to explain herself.

"Transferring Eamon King, making the teacher resign—you didn’t discuss any of this with me. What if I lost control of my emotions? Things couldn’t go according to your plan. Can you just give me a heads-up next time?"

Ivy River nodded slightly, braking at a red light. She turned and said seriously, "There’s no situation where you lose control. I let you take Relief Pills, and I’ll take emergency measures if needed."

"Ha, emergency measures means knocking me out, right?"

Ivy River nodded, "Yes, smart girl. There’s water next to you; drink some for your throat. We’ll talk later."

Madeline Woods snorted coldly, "You really are unpredictable. Now you find me noisy? Fine, go find someone who doesn’t annoy you."

Ivy River shot her a cold look, "Behave yourself, or I’ll seal your mouth!"

"Alright, then tell me when you learned medicine and hacking. I only knew you designed and were somewhat skilled in medicine. Now you’re a doctor too?"

Madeline Woods did not know Ivy River’s true identity.

She was carefree and knowing too much was not beneficial for her.

Ivy River improvised, "Yeah, I only know a bit of it. I’m not proficient. I got the hacking skills from my brother. Don’t forget my real identity. Now it’s exposed, so be low-key at the hospital."

"Hmph, you should’ve revealed your true identity earlier so they wouldn’t bully you!"

Amidst Madeline Woods’ complaints, Ivy River drove into the hospital’s underground parking lot. In the elevator,

She couldn’t rest assured, "Maybe you should go shopping instead of staying here. I’m worried you might scare the patients."

"No, can’t you trust me?"

Ivy River frankly said, "I don’t trust you. Your mouth infuriates people. Today I have appointments, don’t cause trouble, okay?"

Madeline Woods gestured an ’I got this’ signal. The elevator door opened and she walked out without waiting for Ivy River.

Ivy River quickly caught up and signaled her to behave with her eyes.

She greeted the nurses’ station, "Good morning, ladies."

The nurses collectively responded, "Good morning, Director River. Olivia is in her office."

Ivy River nodded and dragged Madeline Woods into her office.

"Behave yourself. I need to attend a meeting soon, don’t cause trouble."

Madeline Woods nodded but couldn’t help sneering, "Why is your office so big? Will there be patients coming in later?"

Ivy River nodded, quickly putting on her white coat.

While grabbing her notebook to leave, she turned back, still not trusting,

Madeline Woods obediently said, "I know, I’ll behave. Don’t worry."

Ivy River went to Lewis Chadwick’s office, knocked, and directly entered, "Lewis, I have something to discuss."

Lewis Chadwick was eating breakfast with Alexander Hodges.

They couldn’t hide the food in time when someone entered.

"Who comes in without being told to..."

Alexander Hodges didn’t finish his sentence, quickly changing his tone, "Sister-in-law, have you eaten? Lewis and I discussed something last night and stayed at the hospital. Want to eat?"

Ivy River frowned, "No, you two carry on. I’ll come back later."

Lewis Chadwick quickly stopped her, "What’s up? President Hodges is not an outsider; he can listen."

"You two look untidy. Wipe your mouth, Alexander Hodges. And Lewis, don’t wear gloves while eating."

Ivy River’s disdain was evident.

She didn’t bother to hide it.

"Come to my office later to talk. I’m leaving."

Watching the office door open and close again, Lewis Chadwick doubted, "Alexander, was that Ivy River who just came by?"
