Chapter 218: After the modification: Chapter 217 You Have No Heart

Ivy River started the car and waved out the window, "Help me tell Dad that I’ll visit him next time I’m back."

"Alright, hurry up and go, drive safely on the road."

Jonah Wiles waved and turned away, not looking at Ivy River.

Ivy looked at him through the rearview mirror. Jonah’s figure stood there like a deity, yet very lonely.

She held back her tears, "I’ll call my brother later and explain, don’t be upset, Dad. I’m leaving!"

After the car drove off.

Jonah turned around. His expression was indifferent, and his eyes were dull.

Upon closer inspection.

You could still see some tears hanging in his eyes.

Just after Ivy’s car left, Callum Taylor’s car steadily stopped at the door.

"Old Wiles, why are you standing at the door? Are you here to welcome me specially?"

Jonah didn’t respond, secretly turning to wipe away his tears.

Callum, sharp-eyed, couldn’t help but tease, "Wow, so moved to see me that you’re crying? No need to get so emotional. Whenever you miss me, just give me a call, and I’ll be there."

Jonah laughed and scolded, "What are you doing here?"

"I’m here to see my eldest grandson and granddaughter, and I’ve brought gifts for them."

Callum walked into the house with the gifts.

Jonah deliberately waited until he had run around the house before slowly saying, "Ivy left with the kids, just left, you came a step too late."

Callum, panting, wasn’t having it.

He sat down right on the floor, pointing at Jonah’s nose and cursing, "You old coot, you’re really something, watching me run around the house looking for the kids without saying a word."

"Well, you didn’t ask me."

Jonah sat down on the floor too, his tone heavy, "Something happened in Seaton, so Ivy left early. The kids are grown up and have their own careers. Can’t stop them, just can’t stop them."

"Spit, you didn’t want to stop her. Eight years ago, if you hadn’t let her marry that brat, would this have all happened now?"

Jonah smiled bitterly, "The kids agreed. If I had another chance, even if Ivy hated me for a lifetime, I wouldn’t have let her marry into the Blake Family."

"Those three years were really hard on the kids!" Callum sighed as well.

Jonah suddenly asked, "What gifts did you bring for Ivy?"

"I’m not telling you. I want to give them to the kids personally. You, old coot, don’t even think about stealing them."

Callum continued, "Did Ivy say anything about missing me or something when she left?"

Jonah nodded, "She said she’d personally visit you next time she comes back. And also take some of your treasures."

"Oh! I sneezed on the way here. I knew someone was thinking of me. I didn’t expect it to be Ivy!"

Callum excitedly slapped his thigh.

Jonah agreed, "The kids will be back in a month. By the way, do you have any resources recently? Alaric and Gale are both at home, time to arrange a match."

As expected.

With no kids around, the old ones started to focus on the big ones.

"Yes, yes, yes, without children at home, it just doesn’t work." Callum took out his phone and started studying.

Jonah looked around and couldn’t help but sigh, "These two little ones made the old house a lot livelier these past two days. The house needs some liveliness. Hurry up and push. Whether it’s Alaric or Gale, let them give us a child to play with first."

Callum cursed, "Exactly, that brat has been abroad for so long just to avoid being pushed into marriage. Now I’ll force his hand; even if he doesn’t want to find someone, he has to."

Jonah sighed, "The two of them have been close since childhood and are about the same age. Could they be secretly together?"

"Dammit! Impossible!"

But Callum continued, "But then again, you never know. If they really end up together... Oh no, I’d have to become in-laws with you..."

Jonah glared at him, got up in a bad mood, and went straight into the house.

He’s in good spirits...

"Definitely not, don’t worry, I trust my son!"

Callum also shakily stood up and chased after him.

Meanwhile.

Gale Wiles and Alaric Taylor both sneezed.

...

Ivy River parked the car steadily at Madeline Woods’ house.

After passing the toll station, she had briefly explained the situation to the two little ones.

"Once inside, you two act according to the situation. I don’t know Ann’s current mood, so don’t be too lively."

Walking towards the house, Ivy instructed.

Emmy, feeling down, nodded her little head casually and walked inside.

In the living room.

Madeline Woods was crouched in a corner comforting Ann, "Baby, don’t ignore Mommy, it’s okay, Mommy will always be with you. Tell Mommy what happened at kindergarten."

Ivy walked up quickly, "Madeline, let me handle it."

Madeline turned her head, her red eyes flashing with surprise, "Ivy, you’re back!"

Ann’s body shook when she heard this, but she didn’t lift her head.

"Ann, Ann, lift your head and see who’s back? Your godmother, your godmother brought your brother and sister to see you, Ann..."

Ivy shook her head, stopping Madeline from saying more.

"You go unload the groceries from my car, I’ll handle this."

Madeline hesitated for a few seconds before nodding. She supported herself on the wall to slowly stand up; her legs were numb from crouching too long.

Once she was steady, her head still felt a bit dizzy. She instructed, "When Ann gets up, take it slow. She has low blood sugar, I’m afraid she can’t handle it."

Watching Madeline leave.

Ivy softly spoke, "Ann, your Mommy has gone out. Now it’s just your godmother. Do you want to look up at me?"

Ann had a slight reaction.

"Godmother missed you a lot. So did Emmy and Fatty. When we were in Seaton, we still thought about you. We even brought you gifts. Do you want to see?"

Ivy signaled to Fatty and Emmy with her eyes.

Fatty immediately spoke up, "Ann, don’t you want to know what we got you?"

"It’s super, super pretty. It’s a little princess. Doesn’t Ann love little princesses the most?" Emmy’s voice had a hint of temptation.

Ann sneaked a glance at Ivy, who was smiling at her.

Immediately, she buried her head back down.

Seeing Ann’s red eyes, Emmy’s heart tightened, and she began to cry loudly, "Mom, you have to find out who bullied Ann at kindergarten, she hasn’t cried like this in a long time!"

Fatty felt bad too, trying to comfort her, "Emmy, don’t cry. Ann’s already having a hard time. Do you want her to comfort you?"

Emmy wiped her tears, sobbing, "I, I can’t help it! Ann is so cute, who, who would be so heartless to bully her! It’s so infuriating!"

Ann heard this and sneaked another glance at Emmy.

Ivy saw and signaled to Fatty.

Fatty understood and intentionally scolded loudly, "Emmy, stop crying! Ann is more important now. Can you not be so unreasonable? Ann will get annoyed and dislike you!"

Emmy, shocked, glared at him and shouted, "Vincent River, you have no heart! I’m already so sad, and you’re being so mean, stirring things up, go away!"

With that, Emmy pushed Fatty.

Fatty, caught off guard, fell to the ground.

"Fatty!" Ivy exclaimed in surprise.

Ann also looked up in concern.
