Chapter 206: Chapter 205: Protect the Bird
Jonah Wiles quickly blocked, "If the kid isn’t fully awake, just let him sleep. Did we wake you up when you were sleeping?"
"Then how did Emmy wake up? Boys should not be spoiled."
Gale Wiles sat nearby, chiming in.
Emmy nodded and said coyly, "Grandpa, don’t worry about it. Let Mom go deal with brother. The sun’s already shining on his butt, and he’s still not out of bed. He just wants to get scolded!"
"Aaargh—"
Fatty screamed, "Mom! What are you doing!!! Why did you pull my blanket off!"
Emmy was too excited, "Grandpa, Grandpa, put me down. I want to go see."
"You, you, you just want to see your brother get scolded."
Jonah Wiles gently poked Emmy’s little nose, then picked her up and walked to the room door.
Gale Wiles also got up to follow.
The three of them gathered at the door, watching Fatty’s embarrassed look.
Ivy River spoke lightly, "Your sister’s already up. Why aren’t you? What did I say yesterday?"
Fatty blushed with shame, uncomfortable with everyone staring at him.
Gale Wiles teased, "Let uncle see if the sun has tanned little Fatty’s butt."
"Why are you shy, what are you hiding from? Whatever you have, your uncle has too, just a bit bigger..."
He didn’t finish the last sentence.
Gale Wiles’s butt and back were suddenly smacked hard.
Jonah Wiles frowned, covering Emmy’s ears, scolding, "In front of Emmy, what nonsense are you spouting!"
"Gale Wiles, are you asking for it? See how I would beat you if you lead my child astray!"
Gale Wiles, having been hit, didn’t speak anymore and could only think to himself: In a few years, Fatty will understand everything. What’s there not to get?
Fatty, hearing this, was so embarrassed that his face turned red. He burrowed into his blanket and refused to come out.
"The smart little guy will figure everything out soon. Why else would he be so shy?"
Gale Wiles, after finishing, quickly dodged, continuously flirting with the edge of being hit.
Ivy River gave him an annoyed look, then pulled the blanket away again.
Fatty clung to the blanket, pleading, "I’ll get up right now, Mom. Can you all... please leave first..."
"Especially Uncle!" Fatty pointed angrily at Gale Wiles with a small hand.
Gale Wiles suddenly stepped forward and yanked the blanket off before Fatty could react, then his gaze lingered on a certain spot.
Fatty’s already rosy face turned even redder.
He covered up and yelled, "Mom! Can you make Uncle go away? I can’t change with you all here!"
Ivy River, amused, nudged Gale Wiles out of the door.
Seeing this, Jonah Wiles also took Emmy out.
Emmy curiously asked, "Grandpa, why is brother’s face so red? Is it because he’s shy about getting up late?"
Jonah Wiles let out a hearty laugh, "Yes, baby. You can ask him when he comes out later."
Fatty, already shy, became even more so upon hearing this.
He glanced at Ivy River, who hadn’t left, and pretended to play dead in bed.
Ivy River got interested and sat straight down, "Are you getting up or not?"
"Mom, please leave first," Fatty said quietly.
"Not leaving. I told you to go to bed early last night and you didn’t. You must’ve played on the computer after I left. It’s already eleven, and you’re still lazing around. Tell me, how late did you stay up? Speak up honestly."
Fatty argued, "I wasn’t playing. It’s just that I’m not used to sharing a room with my sister."
Ivy River didn’t believe a word of it.
Knowing her own kid, she knew exactly what he was up to.
She unmasked him directly, "If you use Emmy as an excuse, I’ll call your uncle in."
Fatty muttered softly, "It’s true, it’s really because of Emmy... But also because I was up late fighting with that jerk from the Blake Clan Group."
They had battled until five in the morning.
Due to his excitement, he only fell asleep at seven in the morning...
"Gale Wiles... Gale Wiles, come in here."
Ivy River ignored him, calling Gale Wiles loudly.
Fatty immediately panicked, "Mom, I was wrong, really. After you left, I did play on the computer for a while, but I swear, Emmy being in my room did affect my sleep quality."
Ivy River looked at him with amusement, speaking calmly, "Didn’t you say you didn’t play?"
Fatty: "..."
Why ask questions you already know the answer to?
Women are so troublesome.
He changed the subject, "Mom, can you leave? I need to change clothes."
"Not leaving, I’ll just watch you. I even took you to the women’s bathhouse when you were a kid, so what are you shy about now?"
Fatty retorted angrily, "Mom! I’m a big kid now. Can you stop treating me like I’m still a child? Doesn’t everyone look forward in life?"
Ivy River nodded seriously, "Yes, we should look forward to the money."
"Then please leave!"
Fatty only had his head sticking out, with his hands covering his crotch.
He looked helpless.
"Money, not forward. Your mom loves USD most." Ivy River said as she started walking out.
Fatty understood instantly, gritting his teeth, "Mom, I’ll give you the money I earned from the stock market recently. Is that okay? All of it."
Ivy River remained unmoved.
"There’s over ten million. Mom, you’re really not tempted?"
Ivy River stood up and headed out, "I’m not bending for money. It’s just about to be lunchtime. Grandpa is waiting outside. Remember to transfer it to me. Thanks."
Fatty was both amused and exasperated. Once he confirmed no one was around,
He quickly got up, dressed, and washed up.
Today, he lost both face and money, and had to pay a hefty price.
His dear mom was truly a money-grubber.
Even willing to trick her own son’s money!
As he stepped out of the room,
He immediately raised his phone, "Transferred, Mom. Check it."
Ivy River instantly smiled with fake cheer, "Oh son, you’re so quick~ Let me see. Got it. Love you~"
Fatty: "..."
He could be slower, but he had seen her expression clearly when he stepped out.
If he hadn’t transferred, she might have attacked him next.
Jonah Wiles, seeing him come out, carefully put Emmy down, "Let’s go home to eat."
"Grandpa, to the house where Mom grew up?"
Jonah Wiles nodded, "Yes, Grandpa will give you a good tour, but we need to eat first."
Emmy clapped her hands excitedly.
Fatty said nothing, just followed everyone out.
Ivy River got into a car without the local license plate in Riverland, "Gale, can I borrow a car? I don’t want to buy one."
"No."
Gale Wiles refused without hesitation.
Jonah Wiles gave him a look, then smiled at Ivy River, "Take any car you like. As long as it’s from our family, it’s yours."
"What do you need the car for?" Gale Wiles guessed his sister needed it urgently.
Ivy River didn’t answer, just searched him, took his car keys, and left.
"Dad, I’ll follow you home later. I have some business."
Gale Wiles was stunned, "Dad! Look at your daughter!"
"Ah, kids grow up, can’t control them. You siblings sort it out yourselves."
As Ivy River reached the hotel lobby,
She ran into Edwin Blake and Isla Sutton.
She frowned, feeling unlucky, just about to sneak away.
"Ivy River!"
Edwin Blake’s sharp eyes spotted her, calling out loudly.
