Chapter 153: Chapter 153: Restlessness

Fatty was very scared. He quietly shuffled over to Madeline Woods.

"Godmother, why don’t you take me, Ann, and Emmy upstairs? It’s not safe to stay here too long; our lives might be at risk."

Madeline Woods had the same idea.

She glanced at Ivy River, "We’re going upstairs. You stay here and continue, I won’t disturb you."

"Thank you. Once you get up there, help them wash up and play with the toys. Didn’t we get many freebies today?"

Ivy River looked around.

Harry Ross immediately picked up the toys and headed upstairs, "Ma’am, I’ll take them up and help assemble them."

He had no desire to stay in this creepy place.

Chilling!

A slight mistake could impact the fish tank.

Isabella Yeaton urgently followed, "Then I’ll go up and help too."

Madeline Woods took the children’s hands, "Say bye to your mommy."

Fatty, Emmy, and Ann said in their sweet voices:

"Mommy/Godmother, bye-bye!"

Ivy River gave a gentle smile, "Okay, be good, I’ll come up to accompany you soon."

Madeline Woods watched them run upstairs, and standing at the stairway, she added, "Honestly, Edwin Blake isn’t worth mourning over. Just remember not to let him die at this house; it’s bad luck! Alright, I’m leaving."

Ivy River was already angry.

Hearing what Madeline Woods said instantly brought up her past sorrows.

Might as well settle both new and old scores together.

Ivy River casually picked up a bowl, filled it to the brim, and drank it all down.

"Edwin Blake, tell me, how do you want to die? I can offer you many options, but none of them will be happy endings. You’ll have to suffer before dying."

Edwin Blake felt a pang in his heart.

"Do you really hate me that much?"

Ivy River shook her head, "I stopped hating you long ago. The moment I knew I was having children, I just wanted to bring them into this world and raise them well."

Edwin Blake’s handsome face darkened. He immediately grabbed a bottle of wine and started drinking.

Ivy River saw him.

She slapped the bottle away with a smack.

"Edwin Blake, do you know how hard it was for me to save your damn life? If you really want to die, go die outside! Don’t die in my house!"

Edwin Blake chuckled, got up, and walked over to Ivy River.

He pinched her chin.

Smiled suggestively.

Ivy River shoved him away, retreating step by step.

Thus.

The two engaged in a chase, with one fleeing and the other pursuing.

Ivy River was cornered against the wall.

Her gaze shifted, seeing Edwin Blake’s predatory eyes, she coldly asked, "What do you want to do?"

Edwin Blake smiled without speaking.

He pinched her chin and kissed her fiercely.

Ivy River struggled to push him away, but it was futile.

She could only endure the kiss.

After a long time, Edwin Blake released her and pulled her into his arms.

"Ivy River, stop denying it. You still like me."

Ivy River, dazed from the kiss, went limp in Edwin Blake’s embrace, speechless.

Coming to her senses.

She broke free forcefully and slapped Edwin Blake across the face.

"Edwin Blake, can you have some decency? I stopped liking you long ago. Next time, if you touch me again, I’ll make you regret it!"

Edwin Blake shamelessly replied, "Do as you wish. Anyway, I now have a son and daughter, so dying isn’t regrettable."

"But," he added, "with your actions earlier, I could tell you still have feelings for me."

"Bullshit!"

Edwin Blake pointed to the shattered wine bottle on the ground, "Then why did you smash this bottle? If you truly wanted me dead, why not let me drink it and die, leaving you with no future troubles."

Ivy River was stunned.

Why?

She didn’t even know what drove her earlier, it felt like a subconscious reaction.

Still have feelings?

Probably not!

After pondering for a while, she stubbornly replied.

"That’s because I don’t want you dying in my house. Seeing that would leave a shadow on the children’s childhood."

Edwin Blake sneered, "Your son is braver than you, and you’re claiming a scene like that would scar his childhood? That excuse is flimsy, don’t you think?"

Ivy River felt her heart pounding.

She gritted her teeth and said, "Think whatever you want, just leave my home now. I’ve given you the prescription, come for acupuncture once a week and remember to pay my medical fees!"

"We’re so familiar with each other, and you’re still willing to charge me fees?"

Edwin Blake didn’t budge, staring straight at Ivy River.

Ivy River felt uneasy under his gaze, "Who’s familiar with you? Not a single penny less on fees."

"How much?"

"What?"

Edwin Blake chuckled, "The medical fees, how much?"

Ivy River looked down.

Calculating in her mind.

How much is appropriate?

Edwin Blake isn’t lacking money anyway, so let’s be bold!

"One billion."

Edwin Blake exclaimed, "What? How much?"

"One billion, is your life not worth that much?" Ivy River said calmly.

Edwin Blake remarked in disbelief, "You really know how to drive a hard bargain. Of course, my life is worth it, but can’t you offer a discount, considering we were once married?"

Ivy River let out a cold laugh.

Which sounded particularly sharp to Edwin Blake’s ear.

"Why laugh? If no, then no; it’s not like I have to rely on you for treatment."

Ivy River raised an eyebrow, sternly saying, "Does your life mean so little to you?"

"Do you think I’m lying to you, or do you think I’m not worth that price?"

"You were so willing to spend money on Isla Sutton. One hundred billion is a generous hand. You handed it over without batting an eye, but when it’s for yourself, you’re stingy."

Edwin Blake had no chance to butt in.

He seized an opportunity, "Ivy River, you’re jealous."

Ivy River yelled, "One billion! If you’re unwilling, then find someone else. I can’t cater to you!"

Edwin Blake grinned, eyeing her closely, "Admit you’re jealous; don’t hide it with anger."

Ivy River was already furious, and she’d also been drinking.

The alcohol made her even angrier. She shouted loudly, "Harry Ross, Harry Ross! Get out here and take Edwin Blake out of my house."

Harry Ross heard the call but didn’t come down.

He acted as if he heard nothing.

Edwin Blake closed in on Ivy River, "He won’t come down."

"What do you want to do?" Ivy River tried to run to the side.

But Edwin Blake extended his arm, pulling her into his embrace.

He clasped her waist.

With one arm holding her in place, she couldn’t move.

Ivy River couldn’t escape, "Let go of me..."

The alcohol gradually took over.

The pheromones emanating from Edwin Blake further clouded her already dazed mind.

Edwin Blake gave a teasing smile, holding Ivy River as he sat on the table, "No."

Ivy River stopped struggling, lazily leaning against Edwin Blake.

She comforted herself.

After all, it’s not her first time leaning on him.

Seeing she wasn’t resisting anymore, Edwin Blake’s mood brightened, "Weren’t you enjoying drinking earlier? Let’s drink some more."

Saying that, he took a sip of the alcohol.

And kissed her again.

Ivy River couldn’t dodge, could only drink up.

One sip after another.

The alcohol soon completely clouded her mind.

Unhappily, she pursed her lips, her tone soft, "I don’t want to drink anymore..."

Edwin Blake coaxed, "Okay, then no more."

Now Ivy River only felt hot and uncomfortable.

She blindly groped.

The cold feeling in front of her attracted her, and she subconsciously snuggled up to it.

Edwin Blake froze, looking at his shirt pulled open by Ivy River, and that soft body leaned in against him.

Hardened...

He struggled to control himself, pulling away from her embrace.

"Ivy River, who am I?"
