Chapter 148: Chapter 148: The Bewitching Power of the Tear Mole
"You dare kick me?" Evelyn King gritted her teeth, feeling like she was falling apart!
Ivy River spoke lightly, "I just said, my ears are under attack. Your shouting is too loud, so you owe my eardrums an apology."
"You!" Evelyn glared at Ivy, "If you have the guts, let me go!"
Ivy sneered, "Do you really think you can take me on?"
"You’re just bullying me with your power; I advise you to let me go immediately."
Evelyn continued to threaten Ivy.
Ivy untied the ropes binding her.
Evelyn regained her freedom, but her body felt sore from being tied up for so long.
"I’ll wait for your numbness to pass," Ivy said and then turned to look at Edwin Blake.
Harry Ross was waiting anxiously nearby, and upon seeing her approach, he asked, "Ma’am, why hasn’t the president woken up yet?"
"He should have by now."
Ivy’s eyes deepened as she suddenly thought of something and leaned over to Edwin’s ear, "Edwin?"
Her voice was very gentle.
It was incredibly alluring to Edwin, softly tickling his ear.
Unconsciously, his ears reddened.
A slight smile appeared at the corner of his mouth before quickly disappearing.
Ivy didn’t miss this subtle expression, and directly slapped him on the shoulder.
"If you’re awake, get up and transfer the money."
Edwin continued to play dead, remaining motionless.
"Still pretending? Do you want to keep up the act?"
Ivy took out a Silver Needle and played with it lightly, "If you don’t open your eyes, this Silver Needle might end up somewhere it shouldn’t, like making sure you have no descendants, or perhaps..."
In the next second.
Edwin’s fingers twitched slightly.
He then slowly opened his eyes, feigning a weak cough.
Harry was overjoyed, "President!"
Edwin weakly said, "What happened to me?"
"You suddenly passed out earlier. Fortunately, ma’am was home, otherwise, you might have gone over to the other side. How do you feel now, any discomfort?"
Edwin nodded slightly, thanking Ivy, "Thank you, how long was I unconscious?"
Before Harry could speak, Ivy interjected, "You slept for a whole day and night."
"That long? Didn’t that delay a lot of work?"
Ivy scoffed, "Didn’t realize President Blake had the talent to be an actor. Should I introduce you to the entertainment industry?"
"What do you mean?" Edwin feigned confusion.
Ivy replied irritably, "You know exactly what I mean. Get up and remember to get this bed out of here. I want a new one."
As soon as she spoke, Edwin began coughing urgently.
After a while, he weakly said, "I feel a tightness in my chest; can you take a look?"
"No," Ivy refused directly.
Harry worriedly suggested, "Ma’am, please help the president. You were very concerned when he fainted. What if, I mean, what if he suddenly collapses again?"
"Just let it be; if he faints again, we can directly prepare for the worst. No need to call me; just meet at the Crematorium. Fatty is too young to go to such a place, so a simple bow in respect should do."
Listening to Ivy’s sharp tongue, Edwin couldn’t help but shout, "Ivy, are you trying to kill me?"
"See? You’re full of energy, unlikely to die soon. Don’t worry."
Ivy patted Harry on the shoulder and walked towards Evelyn.
As she walked, she said, "Problems and trash need to be dealt with one by one. No rush, Ivy."
Evelyn was terrified, especially when Ivy patted her.
She began trembling, "Dir, Director River, what are you doing?"
Ivy laughed loudly, "What did you just call me? Director River, did I hear wrong?"
"No, you heard right. Do you have something else? If not, I’ll leave now," Evelyn nervously swallowed.
"Don’t rush off just yet. Weren’t you acting pretty cocky just now?"
Ivy patted her shoulder with each word.
Each tap brought Evelyn a new wave of pain.
Until she couldn’t bear it anymore, "Ivy, what are you doing? I’m really trying to talk to you nicely, why are you doing this?"
"Oh?" Ivy leaned in, her grip sudden and firm, speaking slowly, "What am I doing?"
At that, Evelyn burst into tears from the pain, trying to shake free but failing.
Through sobs, she asked, "Ivy, what do you want?"
"You know my patience is limited. Talk to me properly, or I’ll make you wish you were dead."
Ivy spoke lightly, playing with Evelyn’s hair.
She looked innocent and pure.
But to Evelyn, she looked like a Satan, and she knew Ivy wasn’t joking.
Her shoulder throbbed in pain, feeling like it was dislocated, "Okay, okay, I’ll talk."
"Director River... please ease up a little..." Isabella Yeaton spoke worriedly from the side.
"Don’t worry; even if her arm dislocates, I can reposition it. It’s not a big deal for me."
Ivy stated nonchalantly and even patted again.
"I’m wrong, I’m wrong! I admit my mistake! I won’t trouble you again."
Evelyn couldn’t stand it anymore and desperately pleaded.
"Didn’t you accuse me of using hospital supplies for personal work? Go ahead, take my phone, take some photos for evidence, and take me to court."
Ivy offered her phone while walking over to Edwin.
She held up the Silver Needle, making a ’V’ sign.
Edwin played along, indulgently saying, "Go ahead, take a photo."
Evelyn shivered and turned off the phone, "No, no, no, I was just joking. You misunderstood."
Ivy slapped Edwin’s hand off her waist, glaring at him.
She handed the Silver Needle to Evelyn, "I didn’t misunderstand. Take a look; is this needle from the hospital?"
Evelyn was caught in a dilemma, unsure whether to take it or not.
Ivy’s patience wore thin, speaking forcefully, "Take it and look!"
Evelyn took a deep breath and gingerly accepted the Silver Needle.
She examined it repeatedly, becoming more alarmed.
This needle wasn’t from the Medical University.
It was much more durable than the hospital’s standard issue, yet very flexible in hand.
She tested it on her own arm.
It worked exceptionally well.
Evelyn looked at Ivy, filled with surprise, "Where did you buy this needle?"
Ivy saw the excitement in her eyes and refused to answer, "Is this the hospital’s Silver Needle?"
"No, no, all of this was my mistake. Please, can you tell me where to buy it?"
Evelyn asked excitedly.
Ivy refused bluntly, "No, I have no obligation to contribute to you. Besides, this needle is expensive; the Medical University won’t spend money to buy it for you all, rest assured."
"Tell me the supplier, and I’ll handle the rest. This needle is incredibly useful."
Evelyn almost begged Ivy.
Ivy shook her head, glanced at her phone, and called to Fatty, "Open the door, there should be an uncle outside."
Evelyn saw the charming look in her eyes and sensed something bad might happen.
She cautiously asked, "Who’s here?"
Ivy arched an eyebrow, her red lips parting slightly, "Someone you can complain to has arrived."
"Director Smith?"
Ivy didn’t respond, just smiled at her.
The tear mole at the corner of her eye made her look particularly alluring.
