Chapter 95: Chapter 95 Am I the First One?
Song Yansheng’s mood improved, naturally making the atmosphere at the dining table much better. Finally, the meal was eaten in relative harmony.
Even though he controlled his alcohol intake, Shi Yuanbo still felt a bit dizzy after the meal and needed to rest.
Shi Nuan didn’t want to stay at the Shi Family much longer. As Shi Yuanbo left, she quickly said, "Dad, I... we are going to leave soon!"
Since they had just registered their marriage in the morning, it was only natural that the young couple would want to spend some time alone in the afternoon. Shi Yuanbo did not stop them.
Yu Dou also took the opportunity to say goodbye, mentioning there was still work at the company. Shi Yuanbo gave a few instructions and, feeling quite muddle-headed, allowed the servant to help him upstairs.
Shi Nuan wanted to go upstairs to her own room for another look. The last time she packed in a hurry, she might have left something behind. From now on, there wouldn’t be many chances for her to return to the Shi Family.
She had already become Song Yansheng’s wife, living at the Song Mansion, and there was no changing that.
Yu Dou was the first to say goodbye to the couple. Song Yansheng was in a good mood and did not show a stern face. They politely shook hands and said their goodbyes.
After Yu Dou left, Shi Nuan wanted to go upstairs, but it was obviously inappropriate to leave Song Yansheng alone downstairs, so she invited him to come along.
Song Yansheng naturally agreed with a smile.
Shi Nuan’s room was at the end of the corridor on the third floor, quite secluded. On the way to the room, they didn’t encounter anyone.
At the room door, Shi Nuan entered, her eyes lightly scanning inside, her gaze subtly trembling.
Although she hadn’t been back in a few days, it was clear the place was regularly cleaned, and nothing inside had been moved.
Shi Nuan felt a mix of emotions, quickly steadied her thoughts, and stepped aside to let Song Yansheng in.
Song Yansheng didn’t hold back, stepping in with his long legs, his gentle gaze curiously observing the surroundings, maintaining a calm and neutral expression.
The room was simply arranged, yet there were quite a few odds and ends inside, but everything was neatly organized, without the slightest sense of disorder.
Song Yansheng walked around the room, the sound of his shoes against the floor clearly reaching Shi Nuan’s ears.
It indicated just how quiet and coolly desolate it was at that moment.
Shi Nuan felt slightly uneasy, unsure of what to say, and finally decided not to speak at all.
She busied herself with tidying up her belongings, ignoring Song Yansheng’s presence.
...
"Are all these yours?"
Song Yansheng’s voice came from behind her, making Shi Nuan pause and turn her head.
She saw the man in a deep blue shirt standing in front of her bookshelf, holding a CD with his fingers, asking her with his charming eyes.
Sunlight spilled in from outside, filtering through the window frame and casting over the man, outlining his figure in a soft, dreamlike, drop-dead gorgeous manner.
Shi Nuan lightly coughed and shook her head, "...No, those are all Shi Jiaojiao’s!"
Shi Nuan’s room had been used by Shi Jiaojiao as her own storage room, tossing anything from her room that seemed extraneous into Shi Nuan’s room.
Shi Nuan didn’t want to start an unnecessary argument over something like this, knowing it wouldn’t accomplish anything.
So she organized these items one by one, making the room feel cluttered yet not chaotic.
Song Yansheng nodded. He initially had an interest in looking through the CDs, but it faded quickly as he headed towards her bed instead.
Song Yansheng had drunk quite a bit at noon, and Shi Nuan thought he might lie down for a while. Just as she was about to suggest it, Song Yansheng unexpectedly looked over at her.
In the man’s glittering eyes, there was a faint trace of tenderness, the black of his eyes inscrutable.
He asked, "Nuannuan, am I the first man to enter your room... hmm?"
——
Song Yansheng asked Shi Nuan if he was the first man to enter her room.
Shi Nuan felt somewhat embarrassed. In fact, he wasn’t. Her room wasn’t particularly off-limits; her father and Song Yichuan had both been inside.
But he was the first man she had actively invited in.
Shi Nuan’s face turned slightly red, not knowing how to respond for a moment.
In Song Yansheng’s dark eyes, there was a flash of disappointment. He shrugged and said, "If I can’t be the first, then being the last isn’t bad, either!"
Shi Nuan blinked, understanding his implication: that no other man would be allowed in her room in the future? How could that be possible?
She softly spoke, "Second Uncle, why don’t you rest for a bit? I’ll pack up, and then we can leave!"
Song Yansheng was quite satisfied with her use of "we" and didn’t pursue the matter further, replying warmly, "Okay." fre ewebno(v)e\l.(c)om
...
Perhaps due to the lingering effects of the drinks, Song Yansheng also felt a bit tired and soon lay sideways on Shi Nuan’s bed to rest.
Her bed wasn’t large, but it could fit two girls. Yet, for some reason, with Song Yansheng lying on it, the bed seemed to have shrunk.
Shi Nuan watched as the man slowly closed his eyes, his breathing evening out, and sighed with relief as she quietly went about her business.
Most of the important things she had already packed last time, and now she only had some odds and ends left to organize.
Shi Nuan found a small bag to pack them in.
After confirming there was nothing else in the room she was attached to, she turned to look at the man sleeping on the bed.
Shi Nuan frowned slightly, not sure how to wake him up, but hesitant to disturb him without knowing how long he’d sleep.
Shi Nuan approached the bed softly, hesitated, then reached out and gently pushed the man’s shoulder, calling, "Second Uncle..."
The man, eyes closed in sleep, fluttered his lashes. Because his collar button was undone, the fair collarbone beneath his dark blue shirt was beautiful, with elegant lines.
Yet, the man did not wake up.
Shi Nuan felt troubled: was he truly that drunk?
"Second Uncle... ah!"
Just as Shi Nuan called out, her wrist was grasped, and a force pulled her body towards the man on the bed.
And she, aside from a startled cry, couldn’t do much else.
The light scent of alcohol wafted into her nose, and Shi Nuan could hear the man’s strong and steady heartbeat, clear and resounding.
But more clearly she heard was her own heartbeat.
Her face flushed with embarrassment as she tried unsuccessfully to free herself from his embrace.
Shi Nuan raised her head to meet the man’s eyes filled with laughter. At that moment, she felt both shy and indignant!
She exclaimed, "Second Uncle... let me go!"
Song Yansheng, of course, did not let her go. He smiled faintly and asked, "We’ve already got our marriage certificate and become husband and wife. In this situation, do you still need to call me Second Uncle?"
Shi Nuan bit her lip, silent, her heart flooded with various emotions, her eyes gradually dyed with a reddish hue.
Seeing this, the slight joy in Song Yansheng’s heart dissipated instantly. He loosened his fingers, and Shi Nuan quickly escaped his arms, standing up and turning her head away.
