Chapter 889: Chapter 880: Tail (6)
“I didn’t expect you guys were following us?” Xia Siyu replied nonchalantly.
Wei Jingjing gasped in shock and couldn’t help but start coughing.
Xia Siyu had a sharp eye and had recognized her way back at the snack street before the fireworks.
However, it didn’t matter to her after recognizing them; her relationship with Bo Yan was known to everyone in the company, and they would never behave inappropriately on the streets, openly and honestly.
Bo Yan noticed even earlier, spotting Song Fengzhi at the subway station exit. Although he valued privacy, Song Fengzhi and Wei Jingjing were no strangers to him. Over the years in the entertainment industry, they were closer than family and friends.
He didn’t mind them following secretly as long as they didn’t disrupt his date, so he didn’t bother asking.
Wei Jingjing and Song Fengzhi looked dejected, having followed them all the way, braving the cold wind all evening alongside the annoying partner, only to get caught in the end.
But the conversation didn’t stop there, Song Fengzhi even asked, “Why did she ask if I brought my ID?”
Could it be that they planned to wreak havoc somewhere and then let them take the blame?
This whole night’s surveillance was a complete failure!
Song Fengzhi wanted to ask more but couldn’t bring it up with Xia Siyu, and Bo Yan didn’t respond, so he just had to wait until they met to discuss it.
Meanwhile, Xia Siyu was busy sending messages, not noticing anything else. The night being New Year’s Eve, many people were posting on social media. Xia Siyu made a post on Weibo too. Wang Zisu and Hu Juyue, with whom she had collaborated once, and directors and actors she had worked with before, all sent her greetings. Xia Siyu was replying to the personalized messages; those sending generic or money-requesting messages could cool off elsewhere.
While she was chatting away merrily, suddenly a voice came from above, “What’s making you so happy chatting here?”
Xia Siyu looked up to see Bo Yan’s smiling face. He had just queued up to buy hot fruit tea, a warm cup he pressed against her face.
They had passed by the snack street earlier without getting water due to the concern of finding a restroom later while watching the fireworks.
Xia Siyu happily took it and took a sip. The rich warmth, combined with the fruity sweet taste, spread across her tongue and glided through her heart, making her feel as if she was floating on air.
Then, Xia Siyu noticed a small stall on the roadside, manned by an elder with a bucket, no cry to attract attention, hence overlooked by many. However, Xia Siyu smelled the enticing aroma of roasted sweet potatoes and couldn’t resist tugging on Bo Yan’s sleeve, “I want that.”
Bo Yan looked and nodded, and they walked over together.
Upon approaching, they discovered the elderly man was selling traditional roasted sweet potatoes in a large bucket. The elder didn’t usually set up a stall, as now the city’s appearance was paramount. His setup rarely passed inspections, only daring to operate in quieter spots late at night.
Although there were many people watching fireworks today, few noticed this place. The elderly man did not call out, but despite selling faster than usual, there were still some left.
