Chapter 276: Chapter 276 New Year’s Blessings

Looking at the perfect couple in front of her, along with their three adorable babies who looked like angels, as if they were treasures left on earth by God, the female reporter’s eyes sparkled with stars.

As a reporter who had traveled far and wide and met countless people, this was the first time she had encountered a family that left such a deep impression on her.

However, her strong professional training prevented her from reacting like a regular person with loud exclamations...

She remembered very clearly that they were still on a live broadcast.

Composing herself, the female reporter smiled and asked, "Excuse me, are you here as a family to celebrate the New Year?"

"Yes."

Xiao Fei nodded with a smile and spoke into the microphone held out by the female reporter.

"We are a family. These are our children, and both of our parents are here as well, just over there."

Xiao Fei pointed to the four individuals nearby.

And so, the grandparents and in-laws were also brought into frame.

Wang Fang was ecstatic. In all these years, this was the first time she’d ever been on TV.

With a bright, beaming smile on her face, Wang Fang kept waving at the camera lens.

"Hello, hello~! Hello everyone~!"

"This lady seems very happy."

The female reporter smiled at Wang Fang, but was immediately taken aback.

Just now, Xiao Fei had mentioned "both of our parents," which meant that this stylish, graceful-looking woman in her thirties was in the grandmother generation?!

She started questioning reality.

"Ahem, sorry to interrupt, but may I ask, are you the sister of one of these two?"

"I’m his mom~!"

Wang Fang replied mischievously, pointing at Xiao Fei. "His."

"Wow, Mom looks so young!"

The female reporter exclaimed with admiration. After a brief moment of envy and amazement, she quickly steered the conversation back.

"The New Year is fast approaching. Is there anything you’d like to say to the audience watching in front of their TVs across the country?"

She held the microphone out towards Xiao Fei again.

But before Xiao Fei could say a word, Da Bao in his arms suddenly spoke into the microphone with a sweet, childish voice:

"Wishing everyone a Happy New Year~!"

Then, Sanbao clapped her little hands and echoed, "Happy New Year..."

Seeing what her brother and sister were doing, Er Bao, nestled in Tang Yuxin’s arms, wiggled over eagerly, waving her tiny arms and legs.

"Happy New Year, Happy New Year... goo-gah!"

The children’s sudden outburst brought immense delight to the adults.

Laughing happily, Xiao Fei lifted Da Bao and Sanbao slightly, aligning his head with theirs, and then said:

"May everyone, in the coming year... excel in their pursuits and find their perfect match."

"May every home be filled with treasure, and may peace and happiness reign across the land."

Unexpectedly, Xiao Fei had come up with an impromptu rhyming verse.

While the verse wasn’t particularly refined, it was still impressive that he had composed it in just a few seconds.

"Wow, who knew this dad was so talented with words..."

The female reporter complimented him, growing even more envious of Tang Yuxin leaning beside Xiao Fei.

To have such a perfect husband and three adorable children, with their affectionate manner suggesting an extremely strong relationship—it seemed like she could live without regrets if she were in Tang Yuxin’s shoes.

After the brief interview, the female reporter moved on.

After all, this was just a segment of random interviews with the crowd celebrating New Year’s Eve, and she had to cover many people. She couldn’t keep the camera focused solely on Xiao Fei’s family.

Finally, midnight drew near.

As the countdown reached its last minute, the spectacular fireworks that had been blooming earlier suddenly stopped altogether.

Around the Bund, all the glass facades of the surrounding skyscrapers transformed into dazzling light displays. These lights shifted and gradually converged into the numbers for a countdown.

The crowd could not help but shout out the diminishing numbers on the building façades together.

"Thirty! Twenty-nine! Twenty-eight..."

"Seventeen! Sixteen! Fifteen..."

"Three... two... one!!!!!!"

"Happy New Year~!!!!!"

"Woohoohooohoooo...!!!!!"

Bang! Bang! Bang! Bang! Bang! Bang! Bang!

At the instant the countdown hit zero, the previously halted fireworks burst forth once more.

This time, the display was even more magnificent than before.

And not only that...

"Daddy... what’s that!?"

Da Bao suddenly pointed to the sky ahead and asked.

Xiao Fei looked over and then smiled.

"Sweetie, that’s called a drone."

"There are lots and lots of drones putting on a show."

"What’s a drone?"

"It’s like a little aircraft that can fly in the sky."

"Is it like the ones we have at home?"

"That’s right~"

Xiao Fei nodded. "But drones don’t have people inside, and you can’t ride them because they’re really small..."

The little ones nodded their heads, their big eyes filled with curiosity and delight as they watched the drone show in the night sky.

Countless drones painted patterns across the sky, one after another.

"Wow! It turned into a bunny!"

"It’s a flower! It changed into a flower!"

"A cow...! A cow...!"

It was the children’s first time seeing a large-scale drone performance. As though they had discovered a new world, they were enraptured, doing nothing but craning their necks to stare at the mesmerizing shapes made by the drones.

"I really envy kids these days."

Watching this, Xiao Jun couldn’t help but sigh.

"They’re born into such wonderful times, with endless fun and excitement. Back in my day, when I was a kid, where did we have things like this? Just having meat to eat for the New Year already made us overjoyed."

"Life is always getting better year by year."

Tang Yuxin smiled as she picked up on Xiao Jun’s words.

"Forget about the current generation of babies—even kids a little older than them are growing up in an environment completely different from ours."

At this, Tang Yuxin suddenly thought of something.

For those of the ’80s and ’90s generations, their formative years were shaped during a time when Yanxia was often on the losing end on the international stage. Militarily, economically, culturally—all of it was heavily influenced by external forces, leading to some people of that period growing up with inherent fear and longing for the West.

But for the children of the new era, their environment was entirely different, especially for the little ones born in recent years.

They are being raised in a country that speaks with increasing authority and acts with growing confidence. Consequently, the way they view foreign influences is inherently distinct from that of previous generations.

Their youth drives their confidence. Their composure is unmatched.

Their futures will undoubtedly bring greater challenges, but the opportunities and resources available to them will far surpass those of the prior generations.

With these thoughts, Tang Yuxin turned back to look at the children.

"Mommy...?"

In her arms, Er Bao noticed Tang Yuxin’s gaze and turned to look at her.

"Babies, you’re all very lucky," she said warmly.

Er Bao didn’t quite understand what Mommy meant but instinctively replied:

"Because we have Mommy and Daddy!"
