Chapter 152: Chapter 152: Are You Two Having a Field Battle Here?

"That Daoist is amazing!"

"So accurate with the fortune-telling!"

Walking out of the temple, Tang Yuxin was still buzzing with excitement, chirping non-stop like a little bird beside Xiao Fei.

They walked for quite a long distance.

Finally, Xiao Fei chuckled and said, "You’re so easily fooled, and you don’t even realize it."

"Be careful you don’t get conned into buying dodgy health products when you’re old."

Tang Yuxin blinked her beautiful big eyes in confusion and asked,

"Huh? What do you mean?"

"Didn’t the Daoist get everything right?"

"We met unexpectedly, and I suppose I’ve endured hardships to finally find happiness... Aren’t those correct?"

"Those are correct."

Xiao Fei let out a small snort.

"But the thing is, they’re *too* correct."

"These kinds of statements apply to pretty much everyone."

"Fortune-tellers are skilled at reading people; they can glean a lot from just a glance at your expressions or subtle movements, then throw out generic statements that feel oddly specific."

"If you take the bait, you’ll naturally give them the cues they need. From there, it’s easy for them to keep building on it..."

Listening to Xiao Fei’s explanation, Tang Yuxin’s cheerful face began to fall.

"So it was a con, after all..."

She pouted gloomily, kicking at the small rocks by her feet.

Xiao Fei comforted her: "But he did get one thing right."

"Hmm?"

"You’re someone destined for good fortune."

Xiao Fei lifted his head a little smugly. "With a husband like me, aren’t you the luckiest person alive?"

Tang Yuxin scratched the back of her head, then let out a silly chuckle.

"You’re right... Hehehe... I’m so happy!"

By the time they returned to the campsite, the sun was already setting.

The evening glow painted most of the sky in shades of red.

The three little ones, possibly too excited from camping, were supposed to take a nap during the day but had stayed wide awake and full of energy all this time.

It wasn’t until after dinner, when stars filled the sky, that the little ones finally drifted off into a deep sleep.

Inside the massive tent Tang Yuxin had specially bought, Xiao Fei gently laid the children down on a blanket, making sure they were tucked in snugly.

After all, the nighttime temperature in the mountains could get pretty cold; catching a chill wouldn’t be good.

Stepping out of the tent, Xiao Fei noticed that Su Qingyan and Guo Yong were nowhere to be seen.

He didn’t think too much of it.

Under the moonlight, he immediately spotted a familiar silhouette standing by the river.

Quietly, he walked over and wrapped his arms around Tang Yuxin from behind.

"What are you up to?"

"Stargazing! Hubby! You can see so, so many stars here!"

Tang Yuxin pointed up at the night sky.

Xiao Fei leaned forward from behind and kissed Tang Yuxin’s cheek.

In front of them, the river flowed with a gentle gurgle, its surface reflecting the bright moonlight.

Suddenly, Tang Yuxin felt an urge to play in the water.

But since she was wearing a dress, stepping into the river would get it all soaked.

"Let me help you."

Xiao Fei took off his shoes and socks, then bent down to help Tang Yuxin remove hers. He found a clean towel, rolled up his pants, and, to her surprised squeal, gently lifted her dress hem just slightly.

"Let’s go~"

"Ugh..."

Blushing deeply, Tang Yuxin carefully stepped into the shallow river.

The water gradually rose to her ankles, eventually reaching most of her calves.

"Hubby..."

"Hmm?"

"I can’t move like this."

Because Xiao Fei was holding up her dress, Tang Yuxin had no choice but to lean her entire body against him.

"Besides... it’s so embarrassing."

"This? Embarrassing? I’ve definitely seen you in far more embarrassing situations."

"Don’t you dare!"

Tang Yuxin’s face turned an even brighter red.

Grinning mischievously at her, Xiao Fei teased, "What were you thinking? I was talking about how your sleeping posture every night is a total disaster."

"?"

"Every single night, I have to adjust your position multiple times and tuck you back in. If I didn’t, you’d probably end up on the floor by morning."

"I...I don’t do that!"

Angry and embarrassed, Tang Yuxin lightly bumped the back of her head against Xiao Fei’s shoulder.

"Stop saying that."

Suddenly, Xiao Fei scooped Tang Yuxin up into his arms, carrying her in a princess hold. Instinctively, Tang Yuxin wrapped her arms around his neck.

At that moment, Su Qingyan, yawning as she returned, caught sight of them and shrieked, "Are you two wilding out here?"

"What nonsense are you spouting!"

Tang Yuxin, still in Xiao Fei’s arms, snapped back at Su Qingyan.

"Hahaha..."

"I didn’t see a thing. Carry on!"

Su Qingyan zipped herself into her tent with a loud swoosh.

Xiao Fei carried Tang Yuxin back to the riverbank but didn’t set her down. Instead, he held her all the way back to their tent, where he finally gently placed her down.

Then Xiao Fei returned to the river, washed his feet clean, dried them off, and put his socks and shoes back on. He also picked up Tang Yuxin’s shoes and brought them back to the tent.

"Here."

Carefully holding Tang Yuxin’s soft, delicate feet, Xiao Fei wiped them meticulously.

Tang Yuxin felt a mix of shyness and happiness, her toes curling slightly as if in reflex.

After finishing, Xiao Fei glanced up at her, then suddenly made a face. "Ew, smelly!"

"They’re not smelly! They smell nice! Super nice! Smell them if you don’t believe me!"

"Eek...!!"

"Stupid hubby!"

"Hahaha... Alright, enough. Don’t get too loud, or you’ll wake the babies."

At those words, Tang Yuxin finally quieted down.

The two of them lay together, nestled closely.

The tent, chosen by Tang Yuxin, had a transparent roof, letting them gaze directly at the dazzling stars above as they lay down.

Snuggled in Xiao Fei’s arms, Tang Yuxin stared at the stars, feeling his breath warm against her skin, and gradually drifted off to sleep.

In the middle of the night...

"Hahaha! I found it! I finally found it! This is it!"

Xiao Fei frowned as he crawled out of the tent and looked toward Guo Yong’s tent. He walked over.

"What did you find?!"

"Brother-in-law! I found it!"

Guo Yong, with dark circles under his eyes, excitedly pointed at his laptop screen. "I’ve finally fixed that bug that’s been bothering me! Everything will be solved now..."

"Uh... Brother-in-law, why do you look so mad?"

"What do you think?"

Xiao Fei ground his teeth.

Clearly, this guy had completely ignored everything else once he started working.

"Uh... Did I wake you? Sorry, sorry!"

"Go to sleep. Now!"

"Alright, alright!"

Guo Yong clasped his hands together in a pleading gesture and nodded repeatedly.

As Xiao Fei left Guo Yong’s tent, he noticed Su Qingyan peeking her head out next door.

"What’s he up to?"

"Risking his life for work."

Xiao Fei smirked.

Su Qingyan’s expression instantly turned colorful.

Shaking his head, Xiao Fei returned to his tent. Seeing that Tang Yuxin and their three babies were still sound asleep, he finally let out a sigh of relief.
