Lin Man vividly described a memorable dance battle she saw between Xu Shuman and Gu Pan, lamenting that Xu Qianli missed it since he wasn’t in Jiang City at the time.

Xu Qianli said, "Sister-in-law, no need to praise them so much. No matter how skilled they are, they are just the mainstays of the county dance troupe, nowhere close to you, coming from the Provincial Dance Troupe. If you showed off your skills, you could easily outshine them."

Xu Qianli deliberately complimented her, knowing full well that Lin Man had come from the Provincial Dance Troupe and that her dancing skills were impressive.

It was baffling how Wu Kai, a rough and rugged man, had managed to pursue Lin Man and even marry her.

Lin Man said, "Heroes don’t dwell on past glories; those days are long gone. Now, I’m just a regular housewife; my dancing skills have faded."

Xu Qianli said, "Alright, let’s not talk about the past, let’s talk about the present. Sister-in-law, when are you and Kai going to have a big nephew for me?"

Talking about children, a hint of bitterness flashed in Lin Man’s eyes, and she involuntarily glanced at Wu Kai.

Wu Kai chuckled dryly, raised his glass, and said, "Soon, maybe by early next year. Speaking of which, I owe a lot to you, my friend."

"What are you thanking me for?" Xu Qianli was confused; giving birth to a child wasn’t something he could help with.

Wu Kai and Lin Man kept pouring drinks for Xu Qianli.

Xu Qianli wanted to drink less, but he couldn’t withstand their overwhelming hospitality and ended up drinking several more glasses.
