After the gunshot, the two female tellers screamed hysterically, nearly fainting with fright.

The two robbers were excitedly transferring the money from the vehicle, planning to turn around and toy with the pretty bank tellers next, when they heard a gunshot. Thinking it was the scar-faced man killing Xu Qianli, they were completely unprepared. The two were hit by bullets, several rounds each, and immediately fell into pools of blood, dead as could be.

In a matter of moments, three fierce and evil gun-wielding robbers were all taken down by Xu Qianli.

Having dealt with them, Xu Qianli breathed a sigh of relief and plopped down on the ground, panting heavily.

It had been a close call; he had nearly lost his life. Killing three robbers had been purely fortuitous.

He owed his luck to a few days ago when the city’s big boss, Xia Dongyang, had unsuccessfully hired assassins to kill him. Wu Kai, knowing he had many enemies and fearing for his safety, had given him a gun for self-defense.

The thing was inconvenient to carry all the time, so Xu Qianli had left it in the car, positioned where he could easily grab it.

Had the two robbers reacted just a bit quicker, or if his first shot hadn’t hit the scar-faced man, he would have been finished by now.

It was a dangerous episode, but thankfully it was a close shave he had managed to survive.

The bank teller who had been huddled in Xu Qianli’s arms during the ordeal suddenly began to cry loudly, throwing herself into his embrace and sobbing uncontrollably.

She had been terrified too, fearing that once Xu Qianli was killed, she would be raped and murdered by the robbers.

Now that it was over, thanks to Xu Qianli, she was safe, but overwhelmed by fear and relief, she cried intensely.

Xu Qianli wanted to offer some words of comfort, but he didn’t have the energy; he simply let her cry. After all, no one ever died from crying.

Soon enough, he realized something was not quite right. The woman who had previously been sitting sideways in his arms was now embracing him face to face, with her large, full chest pressed tightly against his, causing an unmistakable sensation that quickened his heartbeat.

Xu Qianli silently cursed himself for getting aroused in such a situation and slapped himself in the face.

A light laughter suddenly sounded.

Xu Qianli glanced over and saw the bank teller who had been sitting in the passenger seat smiling playfully—her hand now held a gun pointed right at his forehead.

A chill ran down Xu Qianli’s spine, and he blurted out, "You’re with them?"

When he was in the bank, Xu Qianli had wondered if the hostages included a robber’s accomplice disguised as a regular person among them.

But he’d never imagined that one of the female tellers would actually be an accomplice of the robbers!

It looked like they had been eyeing that bank for a long time, otherwise they couldn’t have infiltrated and gotten a job there.

Xu Qianli, with the woman in his embrace, was so frightened she stopped crying, staring dumbfounded at the gun-toting female teller, "You’re really with them? We’ve known each other for half a year, how could you be with them?"
