Chapter 817: Chapter 0817 Time Law
The Native American young man slowly removed his hand and stared at Long Fei with a confident laugh, "My flush, I wonder if it can beat your lousy hand!"
When the cards were revealed, the arena fell suddenly silent, and then everyone burst into laughter.
This was no flush at all; the down card was just a spade 6, plus the other four cards, king of hearts, queen, jack, and 10.
His highest card was just a king.
The Native American young man suddenly broke into a sweat, his eyeballs almost popping out.
"How is this possible? How could this be?"
He knew his cards.
The ace of hearts, his down card was supposed to be the ace of hearts.
He stared at Long Fei, not knowing what method this man had used to swap the cards out of his hands.
Long Fei smiled faintly, "You see, no one knows what happened until the very last moment."
He waved his hand and flipped his card, the king of clubs.
The cards in his hand were the king of spades, jack, 6, and 2.
The croupier ruled, "Pair wins!"
Lin Shanshan screamed in delight, hugging her sister as her happy face bloomed like flowers.
The crowd also revealed looks of admiration, not expecting Long Fei to daringly follow through to the end with just a pair.
This Easterner, he seemed sure of his victory.
"Beating me won’t be that easy!"
The Native American young man hummed softly, flipping his ring.
He stared at Long Fei, displaying a hint of scorn in his smile.
Everything around seemed to freeze, the entire hall went quiet.
Even the champagne spray from the bunny girl next door paused mid-air.
The Native American young man hummed a tune, took a glass over, caught some champagne, took a sip, and even slapped the bunny girl’s butt in a reverse motion.
He stole a card from the croupier’s hand, swapping Long Fei’s down card, the king of clubs, for a three.
He then turned to Long Fei with a smug smile, "Eastern man, you do have some skills. However, you’re still lacking compared to me."
He went back, returned the ring to its upright position.
Time suddenly reverted to the moment Long Fei was about to reveal his card, everyone’s eyes fixed on Long Fei’s hand.
Long Fei swiftly slapped down the cards.
The Native American young man, without looking, threw back his head and laughed, "Eastern man, you’re too self-confident. You think a king can compete with me?"
The crowd sneered, thinking this guy must be crazy.
Under Long Fei’s hand was clearly an ace.
The croupier ruled, "Ace high, wins!"
She pointed at Long Fei, pushing all the chips towards him.
"How is this possible?"
The Native American young man almost threw up blood, unable to help but groan.
He had just swapped Long Fei’s card for a three, how did it change to an ace?
Lin Shanshan laughed loudly, "Hey, are your eyes faulty, or is there something wrong with your brain? This is clearly an ace, see it clearly; it’s bigger than your king."
Long Fei smiled faintly while staring at the Native American young man, confirming something.
This lad knew the Law of Time, he had reversed time and changed his card.
Lin Shanshan probably lost because of this; reversing time wasn’t something others could sense.
Unfortunately, although Long Fei didn’t understand the Law of Time, he knew the Art of Space.
When he had reversed time, Long Fei isolated his own space around him, which wasn’t part of the Native American young man’s space.
Hence, the Native American young man’s reversed time had nothing to do with the space where he was.
Each space had its own Law of Time.
This was a struggle involving five-dimensional time, which naturally was incomprehensible to bystanders.
The Native American youth’s spiritual power was clearly limited; he looked unconvinced and reversed time again.
His expression had been relatively relaxed before, but this time his forehead broke out in cold sweat.
He turned the ring on his hand, and the Law of Time beside him immediately stopped reversing, just like before.
Within a hundred meters around him, everyone and everything was in a state of stillness.
He walked over and stared intently at Long Fei, his eyebrows knitted together, "Where exactly did things go wrong?"
Long Fei in front of him didn’t move at all, showing no signs of change.
He switched cards again, this time not switching Long Fei’s cards, but changing his own set of cards.
Either way, changing to a royal flush, Long Fei could not beat him.
He switched his bottom card to the ace of hearts, twisted the ring, and time returned to its normal course.
Everyone on the scene moved back a few minutes, returning to the time when he was revealing his cards.
The crowd felt nothing, their expressions exactly the same as before, all of them watching him reveal his cards in surprise.
He yelled in frustration, "This time, I don’t believe my royal flush can’t beat you!"
He slammed his hand down hard.
When he lifted his hand from the table, the people, just like before, laughed out loud.
The Native American youth was completely stunned; he had clearly changed his card to the ace of hearts.
Yet, in the moment he looked, it had turned into a six of spades, the same as before.
Long Fei smiled faintly at him, casually revealing his own bottom card, the same as before: the king of clubs.
The croupier declared, "King over, win!"
The chips on the table were again pushed to Long Fei’s side.
To onlookers, it seemed like just one push.
But Long Fei and the Native American youth knew they had already battled three rounds.
Long Fei looked at the wall; time hadn’t stayed much, still moving along its normal trajectory.
He silently reflected that the Native American youth could only disrupt the Law of Time, making everyone return to a specific moment.
But he couldn’t reverse time, to travel minutes back.
People nearby exclaimed in astonishment; Lin Shanshan, just like before, hugged her sister and laughed.
The Native American youth was completely convinced, admitting defeat was inevitable as his spiritual power was depleted.
He stood up, clenched his fist towards Long Fei, quite discontentedly saying, "You win this time, but I hope you don’t run into me again; otherwise, you will definitely lose."
"Hopefully so!"
Long Fei gave a calm smile, not saying much more.
This Native American youth had actually surprised him quite a bit; he hadn’t expected that someone in this world could actually manipulate the Law of Time.
Like the "Little Witch", it was an innate power, not one developed later.
Long Fei watched the Native American youth’s retreating figure, secretly thinking that behind this guy must be a master.
He had heard from Hua Qianmo that last century during the great war, a Native American claiming to be a descendant of the Maya had also participated.
This youth must be connected to that person.
If there was a chance to meet him and learn a move or half from him, using the Law of Time together with his Art of Space,
it would be an absolute weapon against enemies.
The Spatial Law could only immobilize people but not their spirits.
People in a spatial quagmire could still move.
But the Law of Time was different; it could completely immobilize people’s spirits, and even move their spirits backward.
This mysterious law was magical and profound, touching upon the Immortal Law, definitely not of the Human Realm.
Just understanding a fraction would make one unmatched at the same level and possibly challenge a higher-level old monster.
