Chapter 488: Chapter 0488: Someone Behind the Scenes
After Bai Xiaochun left, Long Fei sat outside bored, initially planning to meditate for a while.
Then his phone rang.
That post about exorcism and catching demons suddenly popped up, stirring Long Fei into excitement, his hand trembling as he hastily opened it to take a look.
There was a comment on it, "Master, my daughter has recently been like she’s lost her soul, always saying things that don’t make sense. I’ve taken her to the doctor several times, but they can’t find anything wrong, and I’m really at my wits’ end. If you can truly cure her, I’m willing to pay whatever it costs."
She left a phone number. Long Fei found it somewhat familiar and dialed it from his phone.
A familiar name popped up, Sister Yan.
He actually had this number in his phone contacts.
Once the phone was answered, the voice on the other end quietly asked, "Long Fei?"
"Sister Yan, where are you?"
Long Fei asked, a bit worried about Little Tiantian.
He Yan’s tone carried a hint of surprise, "At work, do you need something?"
Long Fei asked, "Has something happened to Tiantian?"
"How did you know?"
He Yan paused, clearly surprised.
Long Fei said, "I saw the post you made, I’m that exorcist master."
"What?"
He Yan cried out in shock, then lowered her voice and said, "Then come to my shop, let’s talk face to face."
"Got it, I’ll be right there!"
Long Fei hung up the phone, intending to go inside and give Lin Yingying a heads-up.
But at the door he saw her on the phone.
Long Fei closed the door behind him, said nothing, and left on his own.
He went to the garage, got in his car and drove over to the mobile phone megastore at the village entrance in the city, where He Yan was anxiously waiting outside.
As soon as Long Fei’s car arrived, she immediately waved at him.
"Where’s Tiantian?"
Long Fei asked.
He Yan said, "She’s at school, let’s go now!"
Long Fei nodded, opened the car door for her, and let her get in.
Frowning, he said, "With such a big problem, why didn’t you tell me?"
"I didn’t know you understood these things. Besides, you haven’t been home lately, and I haven’t been able to see you," He Yan replied, her eyes red-rimmed and filled with grievance.
The past two days, the pressure on her had really been too great.
Long Fei urged her to talk about the situation, and she said that the doctor’s diagnosis was hysteria.
The cause might have been too much pressure from the parents on the child, causing a split in the child’s personality.
During the day there was no problem, but at night the illness would flare up.
When it happened, it was like sleepwalking.
Crying and laughing, sometimes eating things, and emitting creepy laughter.
The past couple of days, He Yan had almost been frightened sick.
The two arrived at He Tiantian’s kindergarten, where the teacher was just leading the kids in outdoor activities.
He Tiantian was sitting alone, looking pale with dark circles under her eyes.
He Yan located the teacher and said she needed to take Tiantian home for treatment.
The teacher took them over, scolding them along the way, "As parents, you really don’t take your kid seriously. If they can sleep early at night, let them sleep. Don’t disturb them by staying up. Tiantian has been dozing off in class these past few days, and listless after class too. I think this illness has a lot to do with you."
With the air of an old hand, she scrutinized He Yan and Long Fei up and down, making it sound as if they were the ones causing trouble at night.
Long Fei was also speechless, thinking to himself that the teacher’s imagination was way too vivid.
He Yan just nodded in agreement, unable to retort and had to let the teacher criticize them.
When He Tiantian saw them, her face immediately lit up with surprise, and she ran over to embrace He Yan, happily exclaiming, "Mom, Uncle Long, why are you here?"
"You’re not feeling well, mom’s taking you home to rest," He Yan said, her voice full of tenderness as she stroked her daughter’s head.
"Okay, but I need to borrow Uncle Long for a moment."
He Tiantian, with dimples showing, happily took Long Fei’s hand and shouted to the other children, "Look, my dad came to see me. I do have a dad, so you can’t say I don’t anymore."
He Yan’s nose tingled, and she almost cried.
Long Fei was also surprised, thinking to himself that this little girl must have suffered quite a bit in her class for her to say that.
The group of children turned around and swarmed around Long Fei, looking him up and down as they exclaimed, "Wow, Tiantian’s dad is so tall and strong, isn’t he?"
"Tiantian wasn’t lying, she really has a dad!"
"We can’t talk about Tiantian anymore."
With intention, Long Fei lifted Tiantian into his arms and greeted the children, "Hello, I’m Tiantian’s father. I was always away on business trips and didn’t have time to look after her. Can you all help Uncle take care of her?"
"Yes!"
The children called out in unison.
Long Fei smiled and said, "Good, you are all so well-behaved. Next time Uncle comes, I’ll bring gifts to thank you all properly."
"Thank you, Uncle!"
"Uncle, I want Peppa Pig!"
"I want PAW Patrol!"
"I want the big grey bear!"
The bunch of little ones clamored at Long Fei, but there was one little boy staring with big eyes, tugging at Long Fei’s hand.
Long Fei frowned slightly and squatted down to ask him, "What gift would you like?"
The little boy shook his head and whispered in Long Fei’s ear, "Uncle, my name is Tongtong. There’s a man behind Tiantian, can you make him go away?"
Bright daylight, the sun shining.
Hearing the child’s words, Long Fei couldn’t help but feel a chill run down his spine.
He looked at Zhou Tongtong with some surprise, then at Tiantian.
Suddenly, he remembered He Tiantian had mentioned this child to him before.
She had said Tongtong didn’t like Pleasant Goat but loved watching the stars, saying that people lived on them.
He examined the child’s eyes, thinking to himself if this little one could have Yin Yang Eyes.
It seemed Tiantian had some issues with Tongtong, pouting while hugging Long Fei, "Let’s go, Long Dad. Zhou Tongtong is a big meanie, always scaring me. I don’t want to talk to him."
Zhou Tongtong urgently shouted, "Tiantian, I’m telling the truth, I didn’t lie to you."
He Tiantian huffed twice and ignored him.
Long Fei, smiling, patted Zhou Tongtong on the head, telling him not to spread the word to other children.
Zhou Tongtong asked eagerly, "Uncle, do you believe me?"
"I believe you, Uncle believes you. Go play, I’ll come back and talk to you next time!"
Long Fei nodded.
"Okay, okay, Tongtong will wait for you."
Zhou Tongtong called out excitedly, as if he had found a confidant.
Long Fei, holding He Tiantian, left with He Yan.
The three of them got in the car, and He Yan, holding her daughter, couldn’t help but break down crying.
These past two years, she felt she had let her daughter down so much.
Listening to her daughter just now, she knew Tiantian must have been bullied a lot at school.
"Mommy won’t cry anymore!"
He Tiantian tenderly wiped away her tears.
"I won’t cry, Mommy won’t cry!"
He Yan sobbed for a bit, calmed her spirit, and anxiously asked Long Fei, "Is Tiantian okay?"
"Let’s talk when we get back!"
In front of He Tiantian, Long Fei didn’t say much.
He drove them home, and on the way, he called Li Zhenni, asking her to send Zhang Yinyang to take a look.
He had scanned with his spiritual power earlier and indeed there was a dark mist clinging to Tiantian’s back.
With his Cultivation Level, he couldn’t be certain what the black mist was.
Zhang Yinyang, born with Yin Yang Eyes, had a deeper understanding of these matters than he did.
