The Beautiful CEO’s Dragon Blood Bodyguard -
Chapter 486: Embarrassment
Chapter 486: Chapter 486: Embarrassment
Ding Xue really misunderstood Long Fei—this sort of thing, which girls like her used, Long Fei had never seen before.
He did recognize the ones for nighttime use, thicker and obviously so at a glance.
But the ones for daytime use were small and thin, and their wrappers even had a pattern; most little boys didn’t recognize them.
The sky had darkened, signaling the end of the afternoon training.
Ding Xue said goodbye to her colleagues with Long Fei and, to keep her identity a secret, she had come by taxi.
Long Fei unlocked the bicycle and pedaled away with her.
Having grown so big, Ding Xue was indeed riding a boy’s bicycle for the first time.
She didn’t even know where to put her hands, so they ended up wrapped around Long Fei’s waist.
As the two passed by, policemen all around turned their heads to watch them.
With Ding Xue’s long legs swinging and her body wrapped in a little vest, it was hard to stay low-key.
The officers discussed among themselves, wondering what kind of dumb luck had Long Fei stumbled upon to be able to hook up with such a gorgeous cop?
He didn’t look like a tall, rich, and handsome guy!
Ding Xue was so embarrassed she almost stuck her head on Long Fei’s body, not wanting them to see her face.
Long Fei laughed, "You like this aren’t fit to be undercover; you’re too attention-grabbing."
Ding Xue rolled her eyes at him, "Then shall I apply for a change and get you another police flower as a contact?"
"Is that possible?"
Long Fei looked dead serious, which earned him a strong pinch from the frustrated Ding Xue behind him.
She had realized that, if you gave this guy a ladder, he’d be conceited enough to try and climb up to the sky to pluck the sun.
The streets were bustling with people just getting off work.
The big screen was all about the music festival.
Long Fei asked her, "Do you know about the college music festival this week?"
"I do; our art department is going together."
Ding Xue nodded her head and, seeing a hawker selling candied haws at the roadside, insisted that Long Fei stop and buy her two skewers.
She had loved them since she was little and would always start a fight with the boys in her class whenever she wanted to eat them.
Even though she was the one who beat them until they cried, her parents would show up, and she had to pretend to be pitiful—then she got her candied haws.
She made an exception by allowing Long Fei to eat one, asking him, "Is it sweet?"
Long Fei nodded with a laugh, surprised by the significance of her girlish heart.
She usually seemed like a tomboy, but inwardly she was very feminine; even her home decor was kawaii style.
Ding Xue asked him, "How do you know about the music festival?"
Long Fei laughed, "It’s all Shanshan’s doing; she says there are wild animals in the mountains and insists on having me there as a bodyguard."
Ding Xue laughed heartily, "Don’t listen to her nonsense; what wild animals could there be in the tourist area? But it’s good that you’re going; at least I’ll have someone to talk to then."
Long Fei teased, "You’re so pretty, do you really worry no one will talk to you?"
"Do you really think I’m pretty?"
Ding Xue bit her lip, a hint of shy coyness appearing on her face.
Long Fei said, "Of course! Didn’t you see the way those men looked at you just now? The public’s eye is never wrong."
Ding Xue pouted, "That’s good then—I thought you all saw me as tomboy!"
Long Fei chuckled to himself, thinking that self-awareness is indeed precious!
Her bold personality was indeed just like a tomboy’s.
But occasionally when she calmed down, she revealed a touch of femininity.
The two went back home, and Ding Xue didn’t go upstairs but pulled Long Fei into her apartment instead.
She rummaged through a drawer and handed Long Fei a driver’s license.
Long Fei opened it and saw his own photo on it, and it was even a B2 license.
"You got it done so quickly?"
Long Fei was thrilled, having his driver’s license after such a long time of testing; he was finally a licensed driver.
Ding Xue said, "This was specially arranged for you by the higher-ups; you can’t let the organization down, alright?"
"Of course not!"
Long Fei saluted playfully and sat down on the couch, looking at the driver’s license with unabashed fascination.
There was a reason for giving him this B2 license; a C-class license wouldn’t allow him to drive a truck, which would be inconvenient when he needed to do so undercover.
An A-class license seemed unreliable, only a B2 was most appropriate.
Ding Xue made him some tea, then asked somewhat sheepishly, "There’s something I’ve wanted to ask you."
"Go ahead!"
Long Fei lifted the cup and took a sip.
The taste was of the Blood Spirit Flower; now everyone around him had started drinking this stuff.
Ding Xue said somewhat embarrassedly, "Ever since you did acupuncture on me last time and unblocked my governor and conception vessels, my menstrual cycle has been irregular. Recently, it’s even ended in just one day, and there’s not much blood; is that normal?"
"What?"
Long Fei set down his driver’s license and stared at her, stunned for a moment.
Ding Xue said moodily, "Don’t pretend, you definitely heard me."
Long Fei chuckled and after a moment, nodded as he replied, "Right, I think I understand now..."
He hadn’t even finished speaking before he couldn’t help but burst out laughing, holding his stomach.
He hadn’t expected Ding Xue to ask about this.
"Can you not laugh?"
Ding Xue stomped her feet in frustration, nearly dying of embarrassment.
Long Fei tried to hold it back and after calming down for a while, comforted her, "It’s fine, this is normal. If you practice Qi Refinement regularly, the impurities in your body will be excreted through your pores, and naturally, the menstrual blood will lessen. Once you break through to the Foundation Establishment Realm, you won’t even have periods anymore."
"Ah?"
Ding Xue smacked her lips and asked worriedly, "Doesn’t that mean I won’t be able to get pregnant?"
Long Fei shook his head with a light laugh, "How could that be? It has nothing to do with pregnancy. As long as the man’s seed is fine, this piece of land can still grow seedlings."
"What kind of analogy is that?"
Ding Xue gave him a look, finding it awkward no matter how she listened to it.
She thought she must be crazy to discuss such matters with a man.
After finishing his tea, Long Fei stood up to say goodbye to her.
Staying alone together as a man and a woman, he too felt a bit awkward.
As Ding Xue stood up to see him off, she asked, "Your room has been tidied up for you; aren’t you going to move downstairs?"
"Move? Of course I’m moving!"
Long Fei nodded fiercely, he had meant to go up to move his stuff.
Living under the same roof with the Lin sisters, stumbling upon things he shouldn’t see, affected his pure-hearted young man’s mental health.
Ding Xue didn’t know why, but she couldn’t help feeling pleased inside.
With her hands clasped behind her back, she followed Long Fei upstairs.
She understood her best friend; if she didn’t go up, Lin Yingying would definitely not let Long Fei come down.
In the living room, Lin Yingying had gone to the company in the afternoon and was already back, leaning on the sofa with a face mask on.
Lin Shanshan had been forcibly given one, otherwise, she would’ve felt no sense of achievement.
She was picking camping gear online, taking this upcoming outing very seriously.
These days, Lin Yingying was always following Long Fei, never including her.
She was already feeling suffocated in this place.
After Long Fei entered with Ding Xue, both of them glanced and frowned simultaneously.
Lin Shanshan immediately jumped up and said, "Sister Xue, you’re really staying on the second floor?"
She had heard about it from Long Fei but had not seen Ding Xue until now.
After the room had been sorted out, Ding Xue had been mingling in school to get familiar with faces; today was her first night staying here.
She smiled and greeted Lin Shanshan, then went to sit on the sofa.
Lin Yingying had stuff bought from Xianggang and was just itching for a chance to show it off.
No sooner had she arrived, Lin Yingying started chatting with her.
Long Fei silently returned to his room, tidied up his bedding, and came out holding it.
Lin Yingying glanced over and suddenly asked, "Where are you going?"
"Downstairs to live! My room is all tidy," Long Fei replied timidly, feeling like he was acting like a thief.
"Going downstairs to live?"
Lin Yingying looked at him, then at Ding Xue, and began to feel suspicious, thinking to herself, is this best friend here to steal her man?
She hadn’t seen the two all afternoon and had no clue where they’d been.
She didn’t want Long Fei to move out, but it felt awkward to say anything in front of Ding Xue, as if she couldn’t bear to be without him.
Her eyes followed Long Fei all the way to the door.
The corner of Ding Xue’s mouth curled up, looking like she had succeeded in her cunning plan.
Long Fei stood outside with a feeling of relief, leaving that room felt as refreshing as a bird released from its cage.
Being constantly watched by Lin Yingying, he felt deprived of any sense of freedom.
