Chapter 427 - 0427: I Aspire to Become a Buddha
Chapter 427: Chapter 0427: I Aspire to Become a Buddha
Buddhist Sect cultivates the heart, and everything is centered around the heart regardless of the situation.
After Long Fei agreed, the Bodhi Seed transmitted the Method of Keen Hearing into his mind.
Actually, it’s quite simple.
Keen Hearing is essentially using the heart as the ear.
It is not about listening with the ears of an ordinary person.
This technique must also be based on the "Amitabha Sutra."
All the thousands of Buddhist scriptures originate from this sutra.
The "Amitabha Sutra" contains the Six Syllable Mantra. Learning the Heavenly Ear involves ultimately focusing on the Six Syllable Mantra.
Sitting cross-legged, Long Fei contemplated for a while and surprisingly entered the threshold of enlightenment with particular ease and quickness.
He even began to wonder if he truly possessed a Buddhist root?
If that were so, would he end up becoming a Monk in the future?
Thinking this, he shook his head and firmly dismissed the idea.
Although Buddhist cultivation is easier than the Daoist Sect, the strict rules and precepts are too numerous and the final cultivation lacks humanity.
The Daoist Sect is better, with so many beautiful women who need his care; how could he bear to abandon them.
He embraced the attitude of "learning the Buddhist skills to master and even surpass Buddhism," aiming to acquire one more skill rather than necessarily joining them.
The Six Syllable Mantra, Om, Ma, Ni, Pad, Me, Hum!
Though it is only a word, it contains myriad interpretations, all depending on one’s enlightenment.
Dipankara attained enlightenment as a Past Buddha through contemplation of this!
Tathagata attained enlightenment as the Present Buddha through contemplation of this!
Maitreya will become the Future Buddha through contemplation of this!
Bodhisattvas, Arhats, all accomplished their own merit through such contemplation.
Starting with the contemplation of the Om Mantra, Long Fei, within a short time, began to hear sobbing whispers next to his ears.
Heavenly Ear Primary Stage, whispers of ghosts.
He completely understood in just half an hour.
The Bodhi Seed shone with a golden light, seeming quite satisfied.
Long Fei had always thought becoming a ghost was a very fortunate thing, as not everyone gets the chance to be a ghost.
After death, as a ghost, one could live again.
Yet, upon hearing their true feelings, he couldn’t help but feel his eyes moisten uncontrollably.
This is the compassionate heart of Buddhism, through his cultivation of Buddhist Law, he naturally felt moved.
The greatest wish of these ghosts was not to be reborn, but to die.
In the vast emptiness, they were like rootless duckweed.
Unable to seek death, nor life.
That feeling of being unable to communicate with others was enough to make any divine spirit collapse.
It’s like being locked alone in a room with no interaction with the outside world.
One wouldn’t last three days before going mad.
Long Fei frowned tightly and asked the Bodhi Seed, "Aren’t there legends of the Underworld managing Yin Souls? Why can’t the Yin Souls in this world enter the Underworld and be reborn as humans?"
The Bodhi Seed replied, "How vast the Three Realms are, with three thousand great worlds and a hundred thousand small worlds. Each small world contains billions of stars. The Underworld’s reach is not long enough to extend to any small world. Only in those well-ordered great worlds does the Six Paths of Reincarnation exist. Your small world does not catch the eye of the Underworld!"
Stunned by the revelation, Long Fei asked in surprise, "You’re not from our world?"
The Bodhi Seed did not answer but instead asked him, "What are your feelings after hearing the laments of these ghosts?"
After pondering for a moment, Long Fei replied, "They really are quite pitiful; I’ll come over tomorrow and burn some paper money for them!"
"Amitabha!"
The Bodhi Seed let out a frustrated cry, which, translated into colloquial language, probably meant, "Are you kidding me? Did I ask you to burn paper money? Is that what I wanted to hear? Do you even have a brain?"
Hearing his tone, Long Fei thought for a moment and then offered another solution, "I’ll take out my sword and finish them off!"
"Amitabha!"
The Bodhi Seed was rendered speechless, his tone one of disapproval as if to say "reckless brat."
"What the heck!"
Long Fei cursed inwardly, seeing that he neither agreed to the left nor the right, he directly asked, "Then what do you want me to do?"
The Bodhi Seed said indifferently, "Liberate them, let them leave this world at ease. In the Om Mantra, there is a Chapter on transcendence. Reflect on it, and then go out to help them transcend!"
"What a hassle!"
Long Fei muttered under his breath, finding this kind of no-benefit task truly bothersome.
The Six Syllable Mantra, each syllable more profound than the last.
According to the Bodhi Seed, if one completely comprehends the Om Mantra, they can be called a Master in the Buddhist Sect.
The Monk from Tianzhu Country previously mentioned had reached the Cultivation Level of a Master; his body could remain undecayed for a thousand years.
Long Fei contemplated the Chapter on transcendence and the more he did, the more astonished he became.
Turns out, the Buddhist method for helping ghosts transcend was not entirely a no-benefit affair.
This technique used one’s body as the crucible, actively absorbing the ghost’s resentment into oneself.
Then, using one’s own Cultivation Level, one would purify the ghost’s resentment stemming from the seven emotions and six sensory pleasures.
In Buddhism, this kind of resentment is also called Karmic Fire.
It involved burning one’s flesh with Karmic Fire to purify the ghost, and after the resentment was cleansed, it then transformed into pure energy to be absorbed by oneself.
From this, one could cultivate Divine Skills.
In the process of liberating the Yin Soul, one also enhanced one’s own Cultivation Level.
Good heavens, the more he understood, the more he found Buddhism to be cunning!
They say it’s about saving others, but in truth, they’re also saving themselves.
This is the law of Mahayana Buddhism, relying on transforming others, fulfilling their lofty wishes, to achieve the purpose of transforming oneself.
This Divine Skill, though somewhat opportunistic and mutually exploitative, cannot be denied to be a shortcut.
Compared to the Daoist Sect, which required arduous trials such as braving the elements, working with cinnabar and lead, Refining Essence and Transforming Qi, Qi Refinement and Divinity Transformation.
Only through this could one cultivate spiritual power.
Buddhism was different; it directly absorbed others’ spiritual power for one’s own use.
First, set lofty goals, transform the masses, manifest in the world, and have billions of Divine Spirits believe.
Then, with the aid of the Power of Faith from billions of followers, transform it into one’s own spiritual power for cultivation.
What a technique, what a technique!
Long Fei inwardly praised, thinking to himself that it’s no wonder Buddhism occupied half the kingdom in the Cultivation World!
The Bodhi Seed asked him, "Have you understood?"
"I have!"
Long Fei nodded; he certainly wouldn’t let go of something beneficial.
Whether it’s Buddhist Law or Daoist Technique, anything that makes him more powerful is a good technique!
"Well said, well said!"
The Bodhi Seed was full of satisfaction, his golden light retracted, offering no further guidance.
Long Fei’s lips curved up, he stood up, and left the tent.
Outside, Li Zhenni and the others were chatting merrily.
Since she and Yang Hao had no conflicts, she didn’t dislike this rich second generation and found they had much in common.
When Long Fei went out, everyone looked towards him.
Li Zhenni asked, "What are you doing?"
Yang Hao muttered to himself, "He probably wants to take a piss!"
Long Fei scanned his surroundings and said indifferently, "I wish to become a Buddha and liberate all worldly suffering!"
After this boast, he turned his back on the crowd and walked towards a group of Yin Souls.
The group stared at him, almost convinced they had mistaken him for someone else.
Oh my god, he spouted some nonsensical stuff that completely went over our heads!
Seeing that he didn’t take the Tai’a Sword, Li Zhenni reminded him anxiously, "Are you out of your mind? Take your sword with you!"
Long Fei tossed his head, with the air of someone about to show off.
As if joking, why would the little brother of a great Buddhist brother need a sword?
