Chapter 387: Chapter 0387: Immortal Clan Cave Mansion

Long Fei looked at Lu Buping with a smile, then turned and led Li Zhenni further inside.

For someone like Lu Buping, with his outstanding talent among his peers, getting him to take the initiative to bow his head was indeed no easy feat.

Lu Buping anxiously asked, "Master, are you agreeing or not?"

Fat Wang patted his shoulder, laughing, "Silly, if he doesn’t refuse, of course that means he agrees!"

He pulled Lu Buping along, waving to the others, and followed Long Fei inside.

Yang Gang and the rest watched them, silently praying for them in their hearts.

When they arrived, they looked down on Long Fei.

Now, though a bit jealous, they couldn’t help but admire his ability.

Not one among them could match the feat of him slicing the black bear with a single cut.

The four entered the Misty Forest, the fog growing thicker as they walked, until they couldn’t see anything within a two-meter radius.

Long Fei found a wooden stick and had all four of them hold onto it.

He walked in front, with Li Zhenni behind him, and Fat Wang and Lu Buping brought up the rear.

Li Zhenni looked at this odd team and couldn’t help but laugh, "Don’t you think we’re like the group of four on a journey to the Western Heaven?"

She had never imagined such a team before.

In her eyes, Yang Gang’s group was the perfect team; she had no expectations of Long Fei before, let alone Fat Wang.

Fat Wang, munching on a can of beef, smacked his lips and said, "Actually, yes, President Li is Monk Tang, my brother-in-law is Sun Wukong, I’m the Second Disciple, and Brother Lu is the Third Junior!"

"At least you’re aware of your own limits!"

Long Fei kept a wary watch on their surroundings.

Fat Wang laughed heartily, hand on his stomach, "Of course, with my build, I couldn’t cut it as the Eldest Disciple even if I wanted to!"

The three of them were amused by his comment, but just as they relaxed, they heard a rustle from beside them.

A dark figure revealed its sharp claws and lunged at Li Zhenni.

Long Fei’s knife followed swiftly, colliding with those claws, resulting in two sharp, metallic clangs.

The shadow howled woefully and then vanished into the mist.

Li Zhenni’s long hair, which had been tied up, came undone and fell over her shoulders, pulled by the claws.

She was so frightened she caught her breath, having thought, for a moment, that Long Fei had lost it and was stabbing wildly.

Fat Wang and Lu Buping also shivered violently and quickly asked, "What happened, brother-in-law?"

Long Fei frowned and said, "It’s the same creature from last night that rips out hearts, it’s trying to stop us from entering this place."

"Rips out hearts?"

"A creature?"

All three of them clicked their tongues simultaneously.

Li Zhenni exclaimed in astonishment, "Are you saying it’s a demon?"

Long Fei said, "Not exactly a demon, it should be a Demonic Beast that has just awakened its spiritual intelligence, smarter than your average wild beast."

Li Zhenni, surprised, said, "Could it be the Spiritual Beast that the Daoist Sect talks about?"

The legend was that the Blood Spirit Flower was nurtured by a Spiritual Beast.

Long Fei thought for a moment and said, "Probably not, the black bear last night, as well as the pack of wolves, were probably just pawns. I suspect the real big fellow is still ahead."

The three of them took a deep breath, and Li Zhenni said with a bit of embarrassment, "So, are we going to rob it?"

Long Fei said, "It started out that way, but since they’ve killed one of our people, it’s not the same now."

"Gangster logic!"

Li Zhenni muttered to herself, but upon hearing Long Fei’s explanation, she immediately felt no guilt.

Fat Wang and Lu Buping murmured behind her, "Did you hear that? My brother-in-law seems honest, but he’s really a rascal at heart."

Lu Buping didn’t dare to make a sound, but he somewhat agreed.

After walking for a while, the four could no longer discern the directions.

Li Zhenni pulled out a state-of-the-art compass and tapped it, only to find that the fog seemed to isolate everything; there was absolutely no magnetic field inside.

The compass needle didn’t move at all; she took out her walkie-talkie and tried to contact the outside team, but there was no signal on the walkie-talkie either.

"This place is so strange!"

Jenny shook the compass, feeling deceived by the unscrupulous merchant outside.

Claiming to have the most advanced high-tech products, she had spent over ten thousand US dollars on it and yet it was useless.

Long Fei stopped in his tracks, realizing after half a day’s journey that there was something odd.

The place was surrounded by the sea on all sides; even if the forest was lush, logically it shouldn’t be able to accumulate such dense fog.

Seawinds raged year-round, and a gust of wind should have dispersed any mist.

If it wasn’t natural, then there was only one explanation.

The fog here must have been created by a Formation set by a master.

Setting up Formations in the wilderness was easier than in the city.

It was possible to exploit the local terrain, the shapes of mountains, the trees, and rivers, making only slight adjustments to the order of the five elements to effortlessly set up a grand Formation.

It seemed that this Mist Formation was the simplest, merely lowering the temperature here compared to the surroundings, causing water vapor to condense into fog when cooled.

Ancient Cultivators probably didn’t understand these chemical terms, but they were already adept at utilizing chemical reactions.

If that was the case, Long Fei closed his eyes, his sixth sense scanning in all directions, and suddenly everything became much clearer.

Trees were not merely trees, rivers were not simply rivers.

In his eyes, they were nothing but tools for setting up the Formation.

"Follow me!"

He opened his eyes and said just that, calmly.

Jenny and the other two followed him, turning left and right, meandering through the Misty Forest.

They all doubted where Long Fei’s confidence came from.

In a place where even the compass failed, he walked as casually as if he were strolling down the street.

Jenny couldn’t help but ask, "Are we going the wrong way?"

Fat Wang also called out, "Yeah, brother-in-law, are you sure? Check before we go on!"

Long Fei ignored them, focused only on the Formation.

As he cracked the Formation, he was also admiring the essence of this grand Formation, feeling a sense of kinship with the one who had set it up.

An hour later, the four of them emerged from the Formation and finally arrived at the central area of the island.

The fog in front of them cleared, and all at once, the view opened up dramatically.

They stood there dumbfounded, faces filled with disbelief as they took in the scene before them.

They were surrounded by a ring-shaped cliff wall that formed a semi-circular valley.

A hundred-meter-tall waterfall cascaded down from a distant precipice, making a thunderous and unceasing sound.

Due to the refraction of light, a rainbow bridge had formed in the midst of the waterfall.

Cranes cried in the sky, and golden carps leaped continually in the pond waters.

Within a radius of several miles, everything was lush and green, with pine trees providing a cool shade and mountains of flowers blooming wildly.

Hidden among them was a dojo.

Palaces of the Daoist Sect stood erect amidst the woods.

The halls were over twenty meters tall, grand and imposing.

Due to the passage of time, they were completely covered with moss, but none had collapsed, still looking majestic from afar.

At the mouth of the valley stood a blue stone arch over ten meters high, with "Alchemy Cauldron Sect" carved in the center, the three characters strong and powerful.

Every blade of grass, every mountain, every drop of water seemed to have its own spirit here—a truly divine scene befitting an Immortal Clan!

Fat Wang pinched himself hard, ensuring he wasn’t hallucinating.

Lu Buping was also full of astonishment, feeling as though he was in a dream.

Jenny grabbed Long Fei’s hand, trembling as she asked, "This isn’t a place where immortals live, is it?"

Long Fei’s eyes swept over the surroundings, and he smiled faintly, "Maybe it is!"
