Chapter 379: Chapter 0379: The Wolf Comes
Before a woman is married, she calls a man "husband".
It means that she has completely given herself to this man and has taken on a unique identity.
With this identity, she will no longer interact with other men, thus becoming exclusive to him.
Long Fei was happy because a woman fully trusted him, yet he was also afraid because there was another particular woman.
He put down his notebook, putting on the act of an obedient good man, and followed Fat Wang to the car.
Neither of them knew Zheng Lili’s exact location, so they sped along the airport boulevard, scanning both sides.
Long Fei asked, "You just arrived in Binhai City, where did you meet this girl?"
Fat Wang hemmed and hawed, worried that the girl might have tried to commit suicide because of him. He honestly confessed his afternoon’s misdeed to Long Fei.
Hearing this, Long Fei glared and slapped Fat Wang on the back of his head.
Startled by the slap, Fat Wang’s hands shook, nearly causing a collision with a nearby car.
Long Fei cursed, "Damn it, you never change your wicked ways! What did I tell you last time I helped you? Now you’ve caused me trouble again; do you really think I can tolerate this?"
Fat Wang, scolded and not daring to retort, couldn’t beat Long Fei and was reduced to submission.
Once Long Fei’s anger had subsided a bit, Fat Wang timidly said, "Brother-in-law, it’s already happened. What should we do?"
Long Fei scolded, "You deal with the mess you’ve made. If anything really happens to that girl and it’s related to you, I’ll be the first to send you to labor reformation!"
Feeling powerless, Fat Wang hung his head low, not daring to talk back to Long Fei.
Midway through the drive, Long Fei suddenly asked Fat Wang to stop the car.
He rolled down the window, glanced beneath the trees on the opposite side, and urged Fat Wang to drive over.
It was late at night, and visibility was poor.
Zheng Lili was slumped against a locust tree by the roadside, having passed out for over twenty minutes.
The cars passing by either didn’t notice her, or they did and chose not to get involved.
Fat Wang made a U-turn, parked the car, and rushed over to shout, "Hey, what’s wrong with you? Are you still alive?"
He checked Zheng Lili’s breath and, finding her still breathing, he breathed a sigh of relief.
After Long Fei got out of the car, his brows furrowed immediately upon seeing Zheng Lili.
Holy crap!
Long Fei clicked his tongue, not expecting it to be her.
He hesitated, then let Fat Wang carry Zheng Lili into the car.
Upon their return, Fat Wang entered first.
Wang Xiaoya and An Xiaoke both stood up, anxiously asking, "Did you find the person?"
Long Fei, carrying Zheng Lili, followed them in and asked them to clear a space quickly.
He went over and laid Zheng Lili on the couch.
Now it was Wang Xiaoya and An Xiaoke’s turn to be shocked.
They both knew Zheng Lili. Wang Xiaoya had seen her at the office, and An Xiaoke had met her at the Jade Material Workshop.
"Why is it her?"
"Isn’t she Mu Tianyou’s girlfriend?"
The two beauties looked at Fat Wang with bewildered faces.
Embarrassed, Fat Wang said, "I swear, I had no idea you knew her!"
Long Fei instructed An Xiaoke to take the silver needle, then guided her, "You do the needling!"
The injury was in the abdomen. Mu Tianyou had kicked Zheng Lili, causing her stomach to bleed, which made her faint.
The needling would require lifting her skirt, which Long Fei could not watch.
He turned his back, pointing out a few acupoints to An Xiaoke, telling her where and how to insert the silver needles.
Wang Xiaoya, thinking Fat Wang was responsible for the mishap, glared at him, scaring him into waving his hands in an attempt to prove his innocence.
He’d only slept with the girl once; he hadn’t expected such a complication to arise.
Even if he was overweight, it wasn’t possible for him to leave someone in this state, right?
The silver needles pierced her abdomen to help her channel Qi and to unblock the channels in Zheng Lili’s body that had been compromised.
An Xiaoke had recently opened her governor and conception vessels, storing a considerable amount of essential Qi, which now came in handy.
Long Fei taught her how to channel the Qi and where to direct it, providing practical training.
After a while, a bit of color returned to Zheng Lili’s pale face.
Suddenly, she choked and spat out a stream of sour liquid, groggily opening her eyes.
She first laid eyes on An Xiaoke, not too surprised just yet.
But when she saw Wang Xiaoya, her forehead creased with worry.
Seeing Fat Wang, she shook with anger and pointed at him, crying and cursing, "You bastard, you’re going to get me killed!"
Fat Wang chuckled awkwardly, "Miss, why are you being ungrateful to your saviors? We just rescued you!"
Zheng Lili sobbed violently, her already upset stomach beginning to ache again.
An Xiaoke reminded her, "Calm down first, or your wounds will reopen."
These were internal injuries that still needed the care of traditional Chinese medicine.
After An Xiaoke cleared the blocked meridians in her damaged stomach, she pulled down her skirt and covered her body.
It was then that Long Fei turned back, locking eyes with Zheng Lili.
Zheng Lili was stunned, feeling as if she’d escaped a wolf’s den only to fall into a tiger’s lair.
She had just made a round of phone calls, seeking help.
Either no one answered, or no one believed her.
She hadn’t expected her social standing to be so poor.
When she was about to faint, she called the last number she had stored in her phone, intending to use it as evidence for the police.
That number belonged to Fat Wang.
The group fell silent for a while, taking a moment to cool down.
Long Fei instructed An Xiaoke to go to the kitchen and cook some blood-nourishing, stomach-strengthening Chinese medicine.
The prescription was simple, and An Xiaoke knew some of it.
However, she still followed Long Fei’s instructions for the medication, feeling that his prescriptions were somewhat more miraculous.
Long Fei asked Zheng Lili, "Who hit you?"
"Mu Tianyou!"
Zheng Lili sobbed pitifully, feeling somewhat ashamed.
Long Fei had already guessed it and, out of curiosity, he asked, "What were you doing at the airport?"
Zheng Lili shook her head, "I don’t know, he went to pick up some strange person at the airport. That person was babbling in a way I couldn’t understand. He seemed to be Awang’s master, and Mu Tianyou said he was brought in to teach you a lesson."
"I see!"
Long Fei sighed, sorted through the events, and had a rough idea why Mu Tianyou had hit her.
It was probably because Fat Wang had tricked her, and she must have made some careless remarks that angered Mu Tianyou.
There was one thing he still didn’t understand, so he asked Zheng Lili, "Why did he insist on you going with him to pick up that person?"
Zheng Lili sobbed, saying resentfully, "I don’t know, maybe he thought I looked good and wanted to show me off for some extra face!"
Long Fei felt a bead of sweat on his forehead, thinking you’re a little too full of yourself.
Wang Xiaoya, somewhat puzzled, asked, "How did you get to know my brother?"
Looking at Fat Wang, she gave a signal to Zheng Lili.
Zheng Lili clenched her teeth, hatred on her face, "He lied to me, claiming he was a high-ranking master from Mount Mao who could lift the curse on me. I believed him, and... ended up sleeping with him."
Wang Xiaoya felt almost nauseous as she stared at Fat Wang, taking a deep breath, resisting the urge to punch him.
Fat Wang scratched his head with a sheepish laugh, "Look at what you’re saying. Although I’m not from Mount Mao, I truly understand the art of exorcism! I was actually ready to properly exorcise your demons, but once you got in, you didn’t give me a chance!"
Zheng Lili’s face turned red, and her eyes widened in astonishment, finding herself temporarily at a loss for words.
After they had checked into the room, it was she who, too eagerly, had taken the initiative with the wretched Fat Wang.
Looking back, she felt like an absolute fool.
In a hurry, Fat Wang asked her, "How did you get my phone number?"
Zheng Lili pulled out a piece of paper and stretched out her hand towards him, "It’s yours, you left it on the bed."
Fat Wang grabbed the paper, smacked his head repeatedly, thinking how he could have been so careless to leave that behind.
Long Fei took the note and looked it over, frowning as he asked Zheng Lili, "So, Mu Tianyou knows that we are going to Li Family Wharf tomorrow?"
"Yes!"
Zheng Lili nodded.
Long Fei massaged his head, then quickly pulled out his phone to tell Li Zhenni to change their plans and set out two hours earlier.
Mu Tianyou’s inviting people over was clearly for revenge.
If he could set a trap and lure Mu Tianyou to Devil Island.
Everyone could meet their untimely deaths there.
