Chapter 345: Chapter 0345: Bodhi Buddha Beads

Long Fei had no idea what was happening, still thinking that Zheng Bin had tracked him down and set an ambush in the bathroom.

He took a few steps over and flung the bathroom door open.

An Xiaoke, clutching a towel to her body, stood atop the toilet lid and cried out to Long Fei, "Cockroach, there’s a cockroach in the bathtub!"

Her stature was around 1.65 meters, not as exaggeratedly tall as Zhang Xuan’er, but her figure was no less stunning, exuding the delicate softness characteristic of South Yangtze women.

Long Fei stood frozen for a moment, half a day went by without him offering help.

An Xiaoke’s face turned red, and she immediately frowned.

She had let him in to catch the cockroach, but instead, he kept ogling her nonstop.

Her towel only covered the front, leaving the back exposed.

Now too embarrassed to move, she called out with a coy curse, "Have you had your fill of looking?"

Long Fei swallowed, and laughed mischievously, "I was just looking for the cockroach!"

He moved towards An Xiaoke, who jumped back in fright, pointing at the bathtub and yelling, "The cockroach is in the bathtub, why are you walking around randomly?"

Her little feet were already wet.

As a result, when she jumped on the toilet lid, she slipped and tumbled down to the side.

Long Fei, with quick reflexes, stepped forward and caught her around the slender waist. He twirled, ending up face to face with her and both stood firm.

An Xiaoke let out a terrified shout, ending up tightly embraced by this man. Her head buzzing, she felt so awkward she didn’t know what to do next as they stared blankly at each other.

She came to her senses and pushed Long Fei away, yelling with embarrassment, "You pervert!"

Long Fei scanned her up and down, his face serious, "Hey, I was just saving you, how does that make me a pervert?"

An Xiaoke gnashed her teeth, thinking to herself, so he takes advantage and still acts righteous about it?

Her body had never been embraced by a man like this before.

How could she get married after this?

She pointed at the bathtub, urging Long Fei to swiftly deal with the cockroach and leave.

At the moment, Long Fei was even more annoying to look at than the cockroach.

Long Fei sighed, thinking it’s tough being a good person.

Came in to help, yet got mistaken for a creep.

He checked the bathtub and saw it had a layer of water with two cockroaches floating darkly.

This guy was also unlucky, probably sleeping soundly in the tub when the water flooded in.

They say it’s the planet’s number one creature that cannot be killed, clearly a terrestrial animal, yet unharmed soaking in the water.

Long Fei grabbed them and flushed them down the toilet.

An Xiaoke felt a shiver down her spine, thinking this guy was too careless.

He should at least have used a plastic bag for his hands, but he had grabbed them barehanded.

After this, she could never let those dirty hands of his touch her again.

After Long Fei left, she quickly locked the door from the inside.

Then she drained the bathtub and refilled it with fresh water.

In the living room, Long Fei pulled out the Bodhi Fruit and sat down to calm himself.

Strangely enough, although his body had been restless just moments ago, it calmed down as soon as he held the Bodhi Seed.

Moreover, his mind felt extremely comfortable.

It was as if there were chants ringing in his ears, scaring Long Fei into staring at the bead as if he’d seen a ghost.

He wondered if it was the Monk’s soul that hadn’t dissipated after death and had attached itself to this bead?

But ghosts belong to Yin, and there wasn’t a trace of Yin Elemental Force on this bead.

Touching it, it felt sacred, so it was unlikely to be mischief by a Yin Soul.

He considered it over and over but couldn’t come to a conclusion, so he simply set it aside and closed his eyes to meditate.

The chanting reappeared at his ear, and as he entered into meditation, his mind became as tranquil as a lake, calm and natural.

He felt as relaxed as if he were sitting under a Bodhi Tree, surrounded by a pure land.

Devoid of the seven emotions and six desires of the Human Realm, without pain or suffering, the comfort almost made him wish to renounce the world and join the Buddhist Sect.

"Is it his thoughts that are influencing mine?"

Long Fei suddenly awakened, realizing that the high monk’s thoughts were powerful, presumably all infused into this Bodhi Seed.

Even though he had died and his Daoist ways had vanished, his thoughts still followed through with his grand vow, continuing to enlighten and convert others into Buddhism.

Long Fei tried communicating with his thoughts, "Don’t waste your energy, I am from the Daoist Sect, and cannot enter your Buddhist Sect."

He had thought it would be a fruitless endeavor.

But to his surprise, the chanting came back instantly, as if traveling through time from the ancient past, echoing with vast solemnity, "There are three thousand great Dao, and Buddhism is one of them. What is Buddha? What is Dao? Tracing back to the source, they are the same. Buddha is Dao, and Dao is Buddha; in essence, they are both paths of the great Dao."

Long Fei asked in astonishment, "May I ask how the master is addressed?"

The calm voice replied, "You can simply call me Bodhi."

"Bodhi?"

Long Fei clicked his tongue. Just the name alone suggested this was no ordinary monk.

Containing his excitement, he curiously asked, "Master Bodhi, is the Bodhi Bead inhabited by your soul?"

Bodhi replied, "No, I am neither anyone’s soul nor thoughts. I am me, Bodhi."

Long Fei took a deep breath, disliking dealing with these enlightened beings at the core.

Would it kill them to speak plainly? Always so mystical and elusive, leaving others muddled.

His mind whirled, and, realizing the implication, he asked in amazement, "Could it be that you are Bodhi that has achieved sentience?"

Bodhi replied, "You could understand it that way."

Long Fei’s heart raced, and he opened his eyes to take a closer look at the Bodhi Seed.

Damn it, he had it wrong from the start.

This Bodhi Seed was not sanctified because of the monk; it was inherently sacred itself!
