Chapter 329: Chapter 0329 Fake Foreign Devil
In the noodle shop, Long Fei, Su Yiyi, and Wang Xiaoyun ordered three small pots and a plate of stone cakes which they eagerly devoured.
After all the commotion, the three were quite hungry.
The two girls admired Long Fei immensely; they would have given themselves to him without a second thought.
At their age, they adored characters who were good in a fight, brimming with a sense of security.
What’s more, he had a good temper.
Wang Xiaoyun, with her big appetite, finished one pot, wiped her mouth, and sheepishly asked Long Fei, "Brother Long, can I have another pot?"
"Of course!"
Long Fei smiled and gestured to the boss.
A clay pot of rice noodles cost only ten yuan.
Such a cheap dish could make this girl so happy.
Long Fei thought to himself that little girls were so innocent.
In a few years, he feared that even inviting them to a feast wouldn’t interest them.
After Long Fei finished eating, he sat down, took a sip of his drink, and asked Su Yiyi, "How has your studying been recently?"
Su Yiyi blushed, nodded, and said, "I’ve made it into the top three in the mock exams the other day."
Wang Xiaoyun boasted, "Our Yiyi is the top student in our class, we’re counting on them to boost our admission rates!"
Long Fei asked her, "Do you feel comfortable staying at the Eighth Middle School? If not, I can switch you to another school. You can pick any middle school in Binhai City."
After all, that school wasn’t a key middle school, and the students had mixed abilities, as could be seen from Zhang Yan and the others.
If it had been a key middle school, there would be no such phenomena; they would probably all be too busy to cause trouble.
Su Yiyi shook her head and said, "Brother Long, you’ve already helped me so much, I’m fine here, no need to go to any trouble."
Wang Xiaoyun also clung to her arm and chimed in repeatedly, "Yeah, don’t take her away. If Yiyi weren’t here, I’d have no one to talk to."
"Ok then, as long as you’re happy," he replied.
Long Fei smiled, nodded, and didn’t bring it up again.
After the three had finished eating, Long Fei took the two to school.
Knowing when to leave, Wang Xiaoyun walked away first and turned around to cheekily pout at Su Yiyi.
Su Yiyi, with a red face, made a playful gesture at her and hung her head to ask Long Fei, "Brother Long, how are things going with Sister Little Ya? When are you getting married?"
Last time, she and Lin Shanshan had accompanied him to Hot Spring Mountain.
After seeing Wang Xiaoya there, she returned and had been down ever since, feeling that Long Fei’s heart was all with Wang Xiaoya.
"What are you thinking about all day!"
Long Fei chuckled and lightly tapped her head, wondering why the little girl was suddenly so concerned about his marriage.
Su Yiyi pouted, took a small step forward, and flung her arms around him.
Her soft body exuded a gentle fragrance, making Long Fei’s breath catch, prompting him to look around.
If others saw them, they might think he was abducting an underage girl!
Su Yiyi tightened her arms and said in a coy tone, "Yiyi is scared. If you get married, you’ll ignore Yiyi."
Only a girl her age could act so coquettishly.
Long Fei shivered all over, nearly overwhelmed by her charm.
He cleared his throat and comforted her, "Right now, you need to focus on your studies and not worry about other things. You’re Brother Long’s little sister, and no matter what, Brother Long won’t ignore you."
Su Yiyi nodded her little head, then let go of Long Fei and waved goodbye.
Long Fei watched her enter the school, then hailed a taxi with a smile and left.
Having been delayed here for a while, it was already afternoon.
After he hurried to Hundred Herbs Hall, he entered the shop.
He just happened to see a man dressed in a suit, with rimmed glasses, maintaining a tense expression while negotiating with An Taiyan.
Stood next to An Taiyan with a red face and her head buried, was An Xiaoke.
The employees were huddled in the back, discussing fervently. Having listened for a while, Long Fei got the gist of the situation—An Xiaoke’s teacher had come to visit.
This man was highly esteemed, frighteningly so. Though he appeared to be only in his thirties, he was already a PhD supervisor at Binhai City Medical College.
He had been ready to supervise An Xiaoke as a PhD candidate under his name, but An Taiyan had called back his proud disciple to study traditional Chinese medicine.
Not accepting this, he had come specifically to argue his case with An Taiyan.
The two had started their debate with the history of Eastern and Western medicine and had been arguing all morning.
One an authority in traditional Chinese medicine, and the other a Western medicine PhD supervisor.
After arguing for half the day and getting red in the neck, neither would concede to the other.
An Xiaoke, standing off to the side, found herself in an awkward situation where siding with either party wasn’t an option.
Finally, the Western medicine PhD supervisor slammed the table and, addressing An Taiyan, said, "Mr. An, I will sue you. All of you traditional Chinese practitioners are the dregs of Huaxia civilization. From ancient times to now, how many people have died at the hands of these dregs? Human blood steamed buns, alchemy for medicine—even emperors have died from such practices. I think you should confront the history, face the future, and not hinder Little Ke’s prospects."
An Taiyan’s face turned red, shocked that someone of a younger generation dared to bang the table and confront him.
He also slapped the table and retorted angrily, "I will sue you too, Little Ke is my granddaughter. What I want her to learn, she will learn; it’s none of your business. A person like you who doesn’t respect teachers and values—the audacity to call yourself a teacher!"
"Old man, are you trying to suppress me with these feudal hierarchies?"
The two were now locked in a stubborn battle, when the PhD supervisor grabbed An Xiaoke’s hand and blurted out to the elder An, "Fine, I’ll say it straight! I like Little Ke and I plan to marry her. She is my fiancée, and she should learn whatever I want her to learn."
An Xiaoke’s eyes widened in shock as she forcefully shook off his hand and exclaimed, "Teacher Zhang Yang, stop talking nonsense. When did I ever agree to you?"
Zhang Yang looked at her and said, "Little Ke, my feelings for you are sincere, God can bear witness. You don’t have to rush to reject me; I will win you over someday and make you my wife!"
An Xiaoke rubbed her head, feeling on the verge of a breakdown.
She had felt that her teacher’s care for her was a bit excessive, and now it was clear he had ulterior motives!
She regarded him as a teacher, but he wanted to pursue her.
Old man An stood up in anger, trembling as he pointed at Zhang Yang and said, "Get out of here! Unless I am dead, you are not stepping foot into my house!"
Zhang Yang, with thick-skinned cheekiness, said, "Old gentleman, I am a citizen of this country, and I have the right to enjoy the privileges granted to me by this nation. This is your shop, a public place, not your private property. Therefore, you have no right to make me leave."
His elder’s eyes rolled back in frustration, almost fainting from irritation.
This young fellow was drunk on Western ideas, talking about rights, feudal dregs, and such—a conversation that began to displeasure Long Fei.
He stepped out from the crowd, his brows tight as he addressed Zhang Yang, "Who just now said that traditional Chinese medicine is feudal dregs?"
At his interjection, the crowd immediately focused their attention on him.
An Xiaoke was also taken aback, not realizing when he had arrived.
An Taiyan, looking at Long Fei, finally felt his mood stabilize somewhat and beckoned to him, saying, "Brother Long, you arrived just in time. This youngster almost angered me to death. Go and debate with him."
Zhang Yang sized up Long Fei and asked, "May I know who you are?"
With a deliberate provocation, Long Fei went over and placed his hand on An Xiaoke’s shoulder, saying indifferently to Zhang Yang, "I am An Xiaoke’s boyfriend. The words you said to my girlfriend just now have upset me. Apologize to me immediately."
As soon as he spoke, everyone around was petrified.
Especially An Xiaoke, who stood frozen, her mind buzzing in shock.
Her almond eyes widened as she thought in dismay: Have all these men gone mad today?
Unsure whether she was scared or confounded, she didn’t push Long Fei away but, as if possessed, let him place his hand on her shoulder.
