The Beautiful CEO’s Dragon Blood Bodyguard
Chapter 237 - 0237: Building Relations over Roast Chicken

Chapter 237: Chapter 0237: Building Relations over Roast Chicken

At noon, when it was time for the meal, the guard handed out the food through the small window in the door to the people inside.

In this place, of course, one couldn’t expect any star-rated treatment.

Each person received two steamed buns and a bowl of boiled vegetables.

The boiled vegetables were a mix of cabbage, potatoes, and glass noodles, which was considered quite good treatment in this line of work.

Long Fei was meditating and did not get up.

Fifth Master instructed Du Jun, "Go get his meal for him!"

With a hop and a skip, Du Jun complied, grabbing a bowl and chopsticks to serve Long Fei, but as he did so, he sniffed and secretly spat into the food.

As he stirred with his chopsticks, he thought to himself, ’You jerk, dare to hit me, I’ll let you eat my snot.’

He brought the food over, fawning over Long Fei, "Brother Long, time for your meal, huh?"

Long Fei opened his eyes and, without eating, the lack of ’Essential Qi’ in his stomach had him digesting for a while before it started to growl.

He scrutinized the boiled vegetables in the bowl, his gaze seemingly able to dissect the food, and he instantly detected the unidentifiable filth within.

"Thanks!"

He picked up the bowl and chopsticks.

At the corner of his mouth, Du Jun trembled, his face immediately revealing a trace of smugness.

Long Fei then handed the bowl and chopsticks back to him, saying, "Old Du, I was too heavy-handed before. This food is my apology, I’ll just eat some buns."

Fifth Master chuckled to himself, having been watching Du Jun and aware that he was up to no good.

Fifth Master didn’t speak because he wanted to see if Long Fei was on the alert.

And to his surprise, the kid was simply a genius.

Even with eyes closed, he could sense the malice in Du Jun’s belly.

Frowning, Du Jun hesitated, saying, "How can you just eat steamed buns? You’re a big guy, you need vegetables for nutrition!"

Pretending to ponder, Long Fei nodded, "You have a point, let’s take turns eating then! My bowl has more oil, consider it an apology."

Without another word, he shoved his bowl at Du Jun and took his bowl instead.

With just a bowl of boiled veggies, he could taste the ocean’s bounty.

Gulping down two or three bites, he finished the boiled vegetables and swallowed down the buns as well.

Du Jun really felt like slapping himself, wondering why he bothered to quarrel over nothing!

Now he was in a bind, whether to eat or not to eat.

With just that fixed amount of food for the day, skipping it meant definitely going hungry at night.

Picking up the bowl and chopsticks, he had a change of heart and rationalized it to himself.

The snot was his own, what was wrong with eating his own snot?

With that thought, Du Jun let go of his worries, biting into the buns heartily and gobbling them down noisily.

Watching from the side, Long Fei and Fifth Master felt disgusted, thinking this guy really had some nerve.

After a while, the guard came over and shouted inside, "Long Fei!"

"Here!"

Long Fei stood up.

The guard reached through the doorway, passing in several bags and said, "Someone brought you food, eat quickly!"

"Yes!"

Long Fei went over and gathered all the bags.

There were more than ten bags and upon opening them, he saw they were all filled with roast chicken.

Binhai roast chicken was a famous dish, much like the roast duck from Capital City, used to entertain foreign guests.

Smelling the aroma, his cellmates all glanced his way with mouths watering instantly.

For crying out loud, after being locked up for so long, everyone had long since forgotten the taste of meat.

Although it was permitted to receive food from outside, none had ever seen it sent in such quantity, with more than ten bags of roast chicken arriving at once.

Long Fei opened one bag, and inside was a note.

On the note was written, "To the great hero, heard you’re not getting enough to eat, this should help fill you up." There was a smiley face at the end, which he recognized immediately as from Ding Xue.

Long Fei smiled and tore off a chicken leg, taking big bites as he ate.

In the prison cell, the others who had still been eating, now looked at the cabbage and potatoes in their bowls and suddenly lost all appetite.

If it had been someone else, they would have gone over and snatched it by now.

Long Fei glanced at them and, seeing the hungry looks in these downtrodden brothers’ eyes, had a change of heart and ordered, "Go ahead and share it!"

Everyone was taken aback and glanced at Fifth Master.

Only after Fifth Master nodded did they dare to go over, each taking a pack of roast chicken and apologizing to Long Fei.

Especially Abiao, that guy isn’t the smartest.

Whoever feeds him is the big brother.

He bit into the roast chicken and looked at Long Fei with adoration, as if looking at a lover, almost wanting to hug him and land a kiss.

Long Fei shivered and, seeing there were two packs left, handed one to Fifth Master and said, "Fifth Master, you should have some too."

Fifth Master smiled and nodded, growing fonder and fonder of Long Fei.

Not only good at fighting but also humble in character.

Such a man, if recruited as his little brother, would be like adding wings to a tiger.

He tore off a bite of the roast chicken, flipped his sexy ponytail, and asked Long Fei a question, "Little brother, what exactly did you do wrong? I have some connections outside, maybe I can help you."

Long Fei lifted his noodle soup and took a sip, then spun a tale, "It was just my bad luck. I ran into a murderer on the street. He had a knife and was about to look at a girl. I rushed over and grabbed the knife and stabbed it into his throat. Blood sprayed all over my face; it was still warm when I came out!"

Fifth Master stared into his eyes, trying to discern if he was telling the truth.

Most people who lie, having never done the deed, will be nervous and unconsciously reveal small tells.

But Long Fei did indeed do this, so he spoke quite calmly.

Fifth Master said, "So you were being a Good Samaritan? Then how come you got locked up here?"

Long Fei sighed, "Just bad luck. The guy was undocumented, and the police couldn’t identify him for a while, so they locked me up first. I bet with you, within a day, they will be banging drums to release me. Who am I, a hero!"

Fifth Master was amused by him and asked while eating his chicken, "What did you used to do for a living?"

Long Fei replied, "I worked as a security guard at a company, then became a bodyguard."

"What a waste!"

Fifth Master shook his head and expressed his sympathy, "With all your skills, it’s an underuse to be a bodyguard."

Long Fei laughed, "You’re telling me! Just a hundred thousand a month, can’t even fart with that. If it hadn’t been for the boss being pretty, I would have thrown in the towel long ago."

In this place, people talk differently to different audiences.

Everyone was blustering and boasting, and so was Long Fei.

They were just bored and looking for laughs, after all!

Fifth Master choked, damn it, he thought Long Fei was just an ordinary bodyguard.

But to start with a hundred thousand was already pretty good.

Out of curiosity, he asked, "Who would pay you such a high salary? A big boss, right?"

Long Fei nodded, "Yeah, and she’s a beautiful big boss too. Let me tell you, her body, that waist, those hips, you can’t find a second one like that in Binhai City."

"You young playboy, I’m really envious of you!"

Fifth Master spoke and ate gracefully.

Long Fei looked at him curiously and said, "Fifth Master, you look like a cultured person, don’t you?"

Fifth Master smiled, "You have a good eye. I was a teacher at Binhai Art Academy. I had a bit of a misunderstanding with the police, so I was temporarily locked up here. If nothing goes wrong, I might be asked to leave just like you."

"Binhai Art Academy?"

Long Fei frowned, no wonder Fifth Master dressed like an artist.

There’s no way this gang boss could just be a "misunderstanding"; there had to be more to it.

Long Fei continued to probe, "I know Binhai Art Academy. When I first came to this city, I went there with my pal and even became a model for a while. Damn it, the pay was good, but it was embarrassing standing naked in front of those old ladies."

"Then we’re kind of acquaintances," said Fifth Master with a laugh.

Long Fei replied, "Aren’t we just! Do you know Yan Zhuangping? That old rascal is so wily; it was him who tricked me into stripping. One of these days, I’ve got to make him pay for my portrait rights."
