Chapter 100: Chapter 0100: Strike First

The elevator had just reached the first floor when Long Fei hurried to the restroom.

The door to the women’s restroom was closed, so he directly entered the men’s restroom, which had two squat toilets.

One contained a hula hoop, and someone was playing "Honor of Kings."

Long Fei flung the door open, startling the player enough that they almost dropped their phone. The player stared at Long Fei and repeatedly asked, "Captain, what’s wrong with you?"

Long Fei yelled, "Come out, it’s an emergency!"

The confused player nodded, wiped themselves, and before they could pull up their pants, Long Fei dragged them out.

Long Fei quickly flushed the toilet and carelessly mopped the floor with a rag.

As he left, Lin Yingying was standing at the door, glaring at him with a pout.

There was someone in the women’s restroom too, so there was still a wait here.

Her belly, it just couldn’t resist as soon as it saw a restroom.

Long Fei pulled her straight into the men’s restroom, causing Lin Yingying to cry out in embarrassment, "Are you trying to kill me? This is a men’s restroom, okay?"

Ignoring her curses, Long Fei pushed her into a stall and shouted, "I’ll watch outside for you, no one will come in."

He closed the door and left the restroom.

Outside, the hula hoop player and a bunch of confused people were watching non-stop, thinking their eyes were deceiving them.

Long Fei cursed, "Don’t you have work to do? What are you all gathering here for?"

The crowd quickly dispersed, guessing that probably the president wanted to use the restroom and Long Fei had found her a spot.

Everyone held back their laughter, waiting until they were alone to burst out laughing.

A moment later, Wang Xiaoya came down the elevator and hurried over.

As soon as she saw Long Fei, her eyes bulged with anger, and punching him, she scolded, "Are you out of your mind? A perfectly good job, and you don’t want it anymore?"

Long Fei rubbed her head and comforted, "Don’t worry, nothing will happen."

Wang Xiaoya immediately burst into tears, shouting in frustration, "What do you mean, nothing will happen? You publicly held the female president’s hand, you really have a death wish."

As she finished speaking, the sound of a toilet flushing came from the restroom.

Lin Yingying came out with a darkened face, washed her hands at the sink, and glancing at Long Fei said, "Come here, give me an explanation!"

Long Fei told Wang Xiaoya to wait outside for a bit and took Lin Yingying to the surveillance room, closing the door behind them.

Lin Yingying crossed her arms and was almost mad to death.

Today, the president’s face had been utterly lost, first being dragged by a man, then using the men’s restroom.

If word got out, she didn’t know how she would face people.

Long Fei beckoned her to sit down, but she didn’t, and said coldly, "Let’s talk business, don’t try to cozy up to me."

Long Fei nodded and told her, "Don’t worry, I’ll call someone over."

He took out his phone and called Wang Cheng.

Wang Cheng, who had been hiding in the cleaning department’s break room, jumped when Long Fei called.

Soon, he entered the surveillance room with his head down.

Upon seeing Lin Yingying, his legs almost gave out.

Looking at him, Long Fei said, "Brother Wang, don’t be nervous, tell Director Lin what happened today."

Wang Cheng’s legs buckled, and he knelt down, begging, "Captain Long, why did you have to bring this up with Director Lin? How am I supposed to talk about this?"

He was so scared his mouth started to tremble.

Long Fei pulled him up, had him sit on the couch, and persuaded him, "Just say what you need to say, you’re an undercover agent, Director Lin won’t blame you."

Lin Yingying looked at them, not knowing what they were up to.

Wang Cheng tried hard to calm himself down and stutteringly told Lin Yingying everything that Liu Kai had asked him to do.

Lin Yingying was shocked and exclaimed, "There are such things happening?"

With a crying face, Wang Cheng said, "Director Lin, I’m truly innocent! I reported to Long Fei in advance, it was Long Fei who insisted that I go undercover."

He was now trying to wash his hands of the matter regardless of the consequences.

Long Fei didn’t evade responsibility and directly said, "That’s right, it was I who wanted Wang Cheng to do it. We have to catch the crook red-handed; without solid evidence, I can’t touch Liu Kai. So, I had Wang Cheng stick to the plan to gather undeniable evidence before making a move on Liu Kai."

Lin Yingying quickly calmed down, knitted her brows in thought, told Wang Cheng to go out first, and warned him not to talk recklessly.

If a fourth person found out about this, she would immediately fire Wang Cheng.

Where would Wang Cheng have the face to speak of this out loud? He opened the door and slipped out like a thief.

He was full of gratitude towards Long Fei and had thought for a moment that Long Fei was going to shirk responsibility.

When Wang Xiaoya saw him come out, she quickly asked, "How did it go inside?"

Wang Cheng gave a dry laugh and lied haphazardly, "It’s nothing, Director Lin just came to inspect the work and even praised Long Fei!"

Without waiting for Wang Xiaoya to ask further, he darted away.

"Praise?"

Wang Xiaoya looked at him in a daze, her head spinning.

In the surveillance room, Lin Yingying sat down on the couch, trying her best to steady her emotions and coyly asked Long Fei, "Do you know, because of what you’re doing, how many girls are getting filmed secretly?"

Long Fei sat down across from her and said, "There’s no other way, you have to be understanding of the difficulties our people face. This matter has human testimony but lacks physical evidence. If we rashly apprehend him now and his phone is clean, if he retaliates, I’d never be able to clear my name! Besides, even if he intends to upload it online, that requires time. I just need one afternoon; as soon as I’m sure there’s evidence on his phone, I will take action immediately. Only a few of us know about this. As long as the photos don’t leak, the girls won’t be affected."

Lin Yingying looked at him in surprise, feeling that he wasn’t as foolish as she had thought.

She couldn’t help asking, "Why are you telling me all this? Wouldn’t it have been fine if you didn’t tell me earlier?"

Long Fei coughed awkwardly a couple of times and stammered, "I don’t care about other women, but you’re different."

Lin Yingying stared at him for a moment, then, her face reddening, she coyly retorted, "Don’t get the wrong idea, there’s no chance between you and me!"

As she said this, she headed for the door. Reaching the doorway, she turned back and instructed him, "Whether you find evidence or not, you must take action this afternoon."

Long Fei frowned and asked, "What if there is no evidence?"

Lin Yingying lightly laughed in a domineering manner, "That’s simple; I’ll just fire you all. After all, one more or one less of you doesn’t make a difference."

She pushed the door open and walked out with a swagger, leaving behind a bewildered Long Fei.

Dammit, if I had known, I wouldn’t have told her.

Wang Xiaoya was anxiously waiting outside for news.

When Lin Yingying came out, she bumped into her, but without saying much, she brushed past her and left.

With her head hanging low, Wang Xiaoya waited for her to walk away before hastily entering the surveillance room and asked Long Fei anxiously, "Is everything okay now?"

Long Fei nodded, leaned back on the sofa, and patted his head, "For now, it’s fine."

"Can’t you be more clear?"

The anxiety made Wang Xiaoya virtually shout out.

Long Fei didn’t want her to know; he understood Wang Xiaoya. Just like a young girl, she couldn’t keep things to herself.

He touched her cheek and told her to go back to work first; by the time they finished work, things would be clear.

Wang Xiaoya left, looking so sullen she felt like biting him, her cheeks puffed up with irritation.

After seeing her off, Long Fei took out his phone and chatted with Zhang Li for a while. He didn’t say much, only asked Zhang Li to stop Liu Kai after work and pick a fight with him.
