Chapter 761: Chapter 737:

When they boarded the plane, the cargo ship at New York Port had already sounded its horn and slowly left the dock. Ye Chen and his group were doomed to fail. As Ye Chen and Haozi emerged from the airport, battered and dusty, and were just about to take a taxi to the pier, a small white creature rubbed against Ye Chen’s leg and emitted a feeble cry. Ye Chen looked down and exclaimed in shock, "Little Yezi!"

Ye Chen quickly picked up Little Yezi and realized that her life energy was exceedingly weak; her eyes half-open, she looked up at Ye Chen and then softly called out twice. After getting injured, Little Yezi had immediately headed to the airport. Being smart, she knew she could wait for Ye Chen there, so despite her injuries, she had traveled over twenty kilometers to reach the airport gates by night.

Persistence pays off, and eventually, Little Yezi met up with Ye Chen.

"This dog is severely injured!" Haozi glanced and could discern the physical condition of any animal with his gaze.

"No, to the pier, immediately!" Ye Chen, holding Little Yezi, leapt into a taxi and raced towards the pier. New York’s traffic was jammed, and after more than an hour of travel, they finally reached the pier. However, the local cargo ship had already departed, and according to the dockworkers, it was en route to Japan.

Upon hearing it was Japan, Ye Chen was stunned, then his expression turned icy as he gritted his teeth and said, "It’s the Japanese, it must be the people from Yakuza!"

"You’re right, they’re definitely retaliating against us!" Haozi spoke coldly, "We dealt a heavy blow to the Yakuza in the United States; they must be plotting their revenge. I didn’t expect they would kidnap my wife!"

Ye Chen let out a sigh and said, "Let’s not worry about that now, they must be trying to use Li Ruo to blackmail me. Let’s wait for their message. For now, let’s get Little Yezi to a pet hospital!"

Knowing that obsessing over Li Ruo wouldn’t help and that Little Yezi’s condition was already severe—if they didn’t get her to a hospital soon, it might be too late—they immediately jumped into a taxi and sped towards the nearest pet hospital.

At the pet hospital, a doctor in a white coat examined Little Yezi. After the check-up, Ye Chen anxiously asked, "Doctor, how is she?"

"Oh, she’s doing well!" A Black doctor who had examined Little Yezi smiled at Ye Chen and said, "This little girl is very brave. She has broken two ribs, but she made it through."

"Doctor, what if I told you that after her injury, she walked all the way from New York’s beach to the airport?" Ye Chen was suddenly moved.

"What?!" The doctor was startled and immediately checked Little Yezi’s paws, indeed, they were worn to the point of bleeding. The doctor took a deep breath and said, "This is incredible, this little girl is truly remarkable to have walked such a long distance. She is amazing!"

Looking at Little Yezi’s paws, all worn out and injured to varying degrees, the doctor’s eyes brimmed with tears and said, "This is the strongest dog I’ve ever seen. Today, I’m going to perform the surgery on her myself!"

Then, the doctor personally performed the surgery. The rib fractures needed immediate attention as the misaligned ribs could puncture her internal organs, potentially causing even more serious internal injuries.

The surgery was completed within an hour, and as the doctor said, everything went smoothly with no issues.

Seeing Little Yezi’s teary eyes, Ye Chen’s heart ached. He gently stroked her head, wanting to smoke and share the cigarette stub with Little Yezi to lessen her pain, but the doctor stopped him.

Woof woof...

Little Yezi barked wildly, and Ye Chen nodded, his teeth gritted, "Little Yezi, don’t worry, I’ll definitely rescue Xiao Ruo, and bring you both, and bring our family together!"

Unconsciously, Ye Chen had started to see Little Yezi as family. Her bravery and strength had deeply touched Ye Chen’s heart, changing his initial dislike to deep affection.

For Li Ruo, Little Yezi was already more than just a pet, and now to Ye Chen, she was more than just a dog. Ye Chen held Little Yezi’s head in his hands and gently kissed her forehead.

Then, Ye Chen and Haozi immediately left the pet hospital, leaving Little Yezi to continue her observation.

Ye Chen went back to meticulously plan how to rescue Li Ruo in Japan, a difficult and daunting task. Even just attacking the Yakuza in Japan was challenging enough, let alone dealing with hostages in their hands; thus, Ye Chen needed a foolproof plan.

The freighter departed from New York Port towards Japan. In fact, they switched ships several times along the way to evade Ye Chen’s pursuit. The journey was safe, and after two days and nights, Li Ruo was safely transported to Japan by Dongchuan and his men.

At Tokyo’s pier, a cargo ship slowly docked, and Xiong Tai, accompanied by a group, came to receive them in person. Among the crowd, Zhang Bufen and Xiong Tai stood side by side, as planners of this mission, naturally including Zhang Bufen.

"Great, our plan has already succeeded in half!" Xiong Tai exclaimed, bolstered by ambitious zeal. Having Li Ruo in hand, he was not afraid that Ye Chen would not submit. By his side, Zhang Bufen, with a cigarette dangling from his lips, expressed his relief, "I didn’t expect that Mr. Xiong Tai’s men were so formidable. To succeed on the first strike is indeed a cause for celebration!"

"Haha..." Xiong Tai was even more proud, although he was praising his men, it also reflected on his own leadership skills. Excited, Xiong Tai said, "Young Master Zhang isn’t too shabby either. So young, yet so brave and strategic. I’ve decided to have the Fierce Tiger Gang cooperate with you, allowing Young Master Zhang to establish more great achievements domestically."

"Then I must thank President Xiong Tai!" Zhang Bufen squinted his eyes, knowing that working with the Japanese required extra caution. Of course, if necessary, stabbing them in the back wasn’t off the table, utilizing each other was only relevant as long as one’s enemies existed, and once the enemies were gone, betraying one’s allies was also a means of survival.

Soon, the ship docked, and Li Ruo, escorted by Dongchuan and others, was led down from the ship. Along the way, Li Ruo cooperated; she understood that any unnecessary struggle would only result in physical pain. On the ship, Li Ruo had racked her brains trying to escape. Once, she managed to elude her captors by taking advantage of using the restroom, but to her dismay, when she reached the deck, she realized she was in the middle of the vast ocean, making escape an absurd thought. Consequently, she was recaptured.

Captured again, Li Ruo knew it was impossible to escape at sea, and the only option left was to think of a way when they reached land.

"Xiao Ruo..." Zhang Bufen saw Li Ruo bound with ropes and a cotton cloth stuffed in her mouth. He quickly walked over and pulled the cotton cloth from Li Ruo’s mouth. Li Ruo, looking stunned, asked, "Zhang Bufen? What are you doing here? You couldn’t possibly be collaborating with the Japanese to go against me, could you?"

"No, you’re mistaken!" Zhang Bufen immediately shook his head, saying, "I’m not going against you. I’m going against Ye Chen. In fact, I’m helping you."

"Hmph, don’t sugarcoat it. Do you think I don’t know the dirty thoughts in your head?" Li Ruo glared at Zhang Bufen.

"Young Master Zhang, don’t waste words on this woman!" Dongchuan immediately said. "This woman is quite cunning. She tried to escape on the ship. If we weren’t at sea, we probably wouldn’t have found her!"

"That’s cleverness!" Zhang Bufen lightly hooked his finger under Li Ruo’s exquisitely beautiful face, saying, "I like this side of Xiao Ruo, beautiful and intelligent. I think the children we’d have in the future would definitely be very clever."

"Ptui!" Li Ruo spat, then coldly said, "You might as well kill me!"

Her spat saliva landed directly on Zhang Bufen’s face. Dongchuan was ready to slap her hard but was stopped by Zhang Bufen, who smiled and said, "You Japanese don’t understand how to cherish and spoil beauty. In our China, women are cherished and pampered. Unlike you Japanese, who beat women while still seeking pleasure from mistresses."

Zhang Bufen wasn’t angry; instead, he touched Li Ruo’s cheek again and wiped the saliva off his face, saying, "Take her away. But don’t torture her, just keep her under house arrest!"

"Haha, who would have thought Young Master Zhang was such a sentimental person?!" Xiong Tai laughed heartily. "Don’t worry, we will take good care of her. We only need Ye Chen; she’s merely our bait. Besides, she is Young Master Zhang’s beloved, how could we bear to hurt her?"

"Then I thank you!" Zhang Bufen smiled.

Subsequently, Li Ruo was taken away. Xiong Tai and Zhang Bufen began planning how to use Li Ruo to coerce Ye Chen. Both had essentially the same idea: to lure Ye Chen alone to a banquet in Japan, setting a trap for him.

Far away in New York, Ye Chen soon received Xiong Tai’s invitation. Xiong Tai explicitly stressed that Ye Chen was not allowed to bring anyone to Japan; otherwise, they would immediately tear the ticket. To this, Ye Chen unhesitatingly agreed.

"Brother Chen, you mustn’t go, the Japanese are setting a trap!" Feng Zhi Xiao immediately said.

"Exactly!" Liu the Tyrant nodded, then gritted his teeth and said, "These damned bastards, if I catch them, I’ll surely kill them!"

The Eight Hidden Generals gathered and tried to persuade Ye Chen, but, no matter how hard they tried, they could not change Ye Chen’s determination to go to Japan. Li Ruo was one of the most important women in his heart, and any harm that befell her would devastate him. He had once made a vow in front of Li Ruo that he would never let her be harmed—not before, and certainly not now.

"Stop talking!" Ye Chen gritted his teeth and said, "Regardless, I am not changing my decision about this trip to Japan!"

"Brother Chen, then take us with you!" Liu the Tyrant stepped forward.

"The Japanese said not to bring anyone!" Haozi, with a cigarette in his mouth, interjected.

"That’s simple, we can disguise as tourists!" Liu the Tyrant immediately said.

"Hmph, you think the Yakuza eat vegetarian meals?" Haozi suddenly glared at Liu the Tyrant, leisurely saying, "The Yakuza’s intelligence system is not worse than ours. Once they get serious, our every move will be in their sight!"

That remark immediately silenced everyone.
