Chapter 685: Chapter 664:

In fact, Ye Chen hadn’t really expected Liu the Tyrant to shoot down the helicopter, he just wanted Liu to fire at it to force it higher. Being too close was a hazard. Holding an assault rifle, Liu the Tyrant started firing. He unleashed a barrage of bullets at the helicopter, which quickly gained altitude, fearful of having its rotor hit, considering what had happened just a few days before.

"Shit, it’s flying too high, how do we hit it?" Liu the Tyrant almost stuck half his body out.

"Ha-ha, bring out your anti-aircraft gun!" Da Hei behind him cracked a big grin, "When you were in Jianghuai City, you made No.33 flee in total disarray, I believe you can handle one airplane today."

"Ha-ha..." Everyone in the carriage burst into laughter, everyone started teasing Liu. It couldn’t be helped, Liu the Tyrant was the jester, always keeping everyone amused during downtime, and everyone teased him when things got serious. The refugees in the van felt as though they were out for a fun ride instead.

Beep beep...

At that moment, numerous police cars were in hot pursuit from behind, and there were still a few police cars blocking the road ahead.

"Damn, I just realized we’ve been tricked!" Feng Zhi Xiao said, frustrated.

"What happened?" Liu the Tyrant, beside him, looked at Feng Zhi desperately.

"We’re completely trapped now!" Feng Zhi Xiao said helplessly, "Look, enemies behind, roadblocks ahead!"

"Charge through!" Liu the Tyrant was slightly excited, "Old man loves these moments, fuck, I’m going to crush them!"

"Ha-ha..." Da Xia laughed along, he and Liu the Tyrant were cut from the same cloth, although Liu the Tyrant seemed slicker on the surface. But deep down, both loved thrills and fervor.

Liu the Tyrant was in the passenger seat, he set up the machine gun and aimed at the police officers prepared to intercept them ahead, while Da Hei leaned against the window, with two grenades hanging around his neck like two balls. He also rested his assault rifle on the window, ready to shoot.

As they neared their adversaries, Ye Chen straightened up from his seat.

The traffic police had set up roadblocks in the middle of the bridge, including spike strips specifically to puncture tires. The helicopter gradually descended among the police force ahead, and several special forces members immediately slid out of it and landed on the ground. This location had indeed become a major ambush point prepared by the Japanese forces to trap Ye Chen and his group.

"Should we charge through?" Feng Zhi Xiao hastily asked.

"Yes, charge through!" Ye Chen shouted.

Then, everyone inside the van braced themselves for impact. As they neared the enemy, the calls of the Japanese traffic police could be clearly heard. Ye Chen coldly smirked, then gripped a grenade and pulled the pin.

"Charge!" Feng Zhi Xiao charged forward without hesitation, tires crunching over the roadblock. Then, the sounds of tires bursting echoed, Feng Zhi Xiao gripped the steering wheel tightly, controlling the direction resolutely to keep the van on course.

Boom...

Ye Chen hurled a grenade out the window. Flames ignited and thick smoke billowed. Upon seeing this, the opposition immediately returned fire like mad. Although all four tires of the minivan burst, under Feng Zhi Xiao’s controlled driving, the vehicle still continued to speed forward. Since they didn’t plan on keeping the van anyway, they decided to just drive it until it blew up.

The speed of the van was fast, frantic, and swift. Just as the vehicle darted forward, police on either side scattered to make way, nobody dared to block the middle of the road because any slight miscalculation could mean getting rammed by the van. The opposition wasn’t dealing with ordinary citizens, but with a group of ruthless bandits bold enough to directly confront the government, an unforgivable act.

The helicopter finally sprang into action in the air, under the frantic shouting through the loudspeaker, but the opposition ignored it. Therefore, the higher-ups decided to let them open fire. Even if Ye Chen died, they could openly declare it was execution due to his resistance against arrest during an escape.

Da-da-da...

The armed helicopter was fitted with a large-caliber Browning machine gun, capable of puncturing five millimeter thick steel. The large-caliber bullets riddled the minivan, nearly turning it into a sieve. Liu the Tyrant was hit by a bullet in the shoulder, the searing pain made him, a tough guy, break out in a cold sweat. Grinding his teeth, he exclaimed, "Shit, it’s killing me! I’m not gonna let this go!"

Before he could finish speaking, another round of bullets swept over, not giving Liu the Tyrant time to react. Ye Chen immediately shouted, "Zhi Xiao, run to the right!"

"Okay!" Feng Zhixiao felt the pressure. The lives of eight people in the car, including his own, were in his hands, so he had to choose the right direction to avoid the enemy’s bullets hitting the car.

The helicopter’s bullets weren’t so easy to hit a vehicle moving at high speed. Thus, the chase continued relentlessly, with Feng Zhixiao accumulating experience, steering the car along an ’S’ shaped route.

After all, a car without tires couldn’t outrun a car with tires. When Feng Zhixiao and his crew finally burst through the blockade at Tokyo Bridge and plunged into the downtown area, Ye Chen immediately opened the car door and shouted, "Brothers, it’s our world now, run immediately!"

"Ho ho..." Nine of them rushed out at once and plunged into the crowded area.

This scene was definitely not what the Japanese authority wanted to see. They had spent great effort setting up a blockade on Tokyo Bridge and even stationed armed helicopters overhead, yet the adversaries still broke through. Once the adversaries entered the crowded area, the military couldn’t easily take action without risking provocation and a potential massacre by the invaders.

Japanese police watched as Ye Chen and his group abandoned the car and fled, immediately starting to encircle them. However, beyond Tokyo Bridge lay a bustling street, complicating the situation for the police. They opted to block the buildings temporarily without causing chaos and sought instructions from their superiors.

After receiving the information, the authorities immediately issued an order, requiring them to capture the criminals at any cost.

That was the order from above. The police had no choice but to disperse the crowd, keeping them away from danger. Ye Chen and his group dashed into a shopping mall, throwing the busy establishment into chaos. Liu the Tyrant grinned and said, "Brother Chen, with so many hostages, what have we to fear?"

"Immediately block all the passages!" Ye Chen ordered. Feng Zhixiao then led a few men to take over the security room, driving all the security personnel out and pressing the lock button in the surveillance room. Several doors slowly closed, leaving only one entrance open. The shopping mall was several stories high, housing men’s and women’s clothing, jewelry, and electronic and digital products.

Liu the Tyrant herded everyone into a corner—over a hundred people, including customers and female staff. He amusingly watched several beautiful girls among them, feeling a restless stirring.

"Brother Chen, what do we do now?" Feng Zhixiao rushed downstairs from the second floor and asked hurriedly.

"Now is the time to negotiate," Ye Chen said with a sly smile.

"Negotiate?" Feng Zhixiao looked bewildered, then laughed and said, "Right, why didn’t I think of that? With so many hostages, it would be a shame not to use them!"

"Liu the Tyrant, pick someone you dislike the most!" Ye Chen gestured.

"Dislike?" Liu the Tyrant paused before responding in surprise, "All the chicks inside look pretty, making me itch all over. If I have to choose someone I dislike, it’s that bald guy in the corner, shit, why did he have to have a bald head like mine? It pisses me off!"

"Then it’s him!" Ye Chen nodded and said, "Pull him out and execute him, the bloodier, the better, the more violent, the better!"

"Are we really doing this?" Jiang Wei, standing by, laughed and said, "Brother Chen, can I pick one too? I’m not in a good mood!"

Liu the Tyrant didn’t care much about that and immediately dragged the bald man from the corner. The bald man shouted, "What are you doing, what are you doing, what do you want to do!"

"Just come out when you’re told, who the fuck asked you to get a bald head like mine!" Liu the Tyrant snorted coldly, dragging the man outside. The bald man seemed to understand the situation and immediately shouted, "Stop, stop, I’ll stop being bald from now, is that not enough?"

"Too late, buddy!" Jiang Wei laughed.

Xiao Bai and Da Hei lay in ambush at the door, monitoring the situation outside, as Ye Chen spoke to Haozi, "Haozi, you and Da Xia go to the top floor to see if we can stop a helicopter."

"Yes!" Da Xia and Haozi responded and immediately took action. They sprinted upstairs in the blink of an eye.

Liu the Tyrant dragged the bald man outside, where police officers immediately ducked down and shouted, "Drop the hostages, put down your weapons, surrender immediately, or we’ll shoot!"

"Shit, you dare to shoot!" Liu the Tyrant laughed and threw the bald man to the ground, then shouted fiercely, "Japanese Imperial Army better listen up, you have 30 minutes to prepare an armed helicopter for us, and another one million dollars, otherwise, we’ll kill one person every minute after 30 minutes are up, see what you can do!"
