The beautiful CEO falls in love with me -
Chapter 556 - 539: Let Me Do It
Chapter 556: Chapter 539: Let Me Do It
Captain Cao stayed behind alone, challenging dozens of people by himself. Unfortunately, the ant strategy of overwhelming numbers often proves most effective. Captain Cao got slashed several times, and blood gushed out. Employees of the Futai Group were terrified and ran crazily towards the fire escape where over ten little brothers were already lying in wait.
"Muahahaha, come here, my darlings!" one little brother wearing a Ghost Face mask suddenly jumped out, scaring the female employees until tears fell, and they collapsed on the ground, allowing the gang members to recklessly grope and molest them.
"Everyone, steady up and charge for me now!" a guy in a white shirt shouted angrily.
"Yes!" The little brothers immediately let go of their prey and hurriedly rushed into the offices.
Clang...
A ferocious wave of smashing ensued, nearly obliterating all the office supplies in the Futai Group. Li Ruo and Lin Ziwen hid in the women’s restroom and then inside a stall, their faces pale with fright. The bodyguard stood at the door, his back against it, holding a black handgun. Sweat dripped down his forehead.
Bang, bang, bang...
The sound of kicking at the door rang out. The bodyguard leaned his body, pressing hard against the door, to prevent the intruders from getting inside and harming Mr. Li.
"Open up, open it now, or you’ll regret it!" someone outside yelled furiously.
"I’ll handle this!" a boisterous voice declared.
The bodyguard was startled and quietly shifted to the side near the wall. Suddenly, with a loud crash, the door was smashed open, but a bulky man tumbled harshly onto the ground. The bodyguard didn’t hesitate; he raised his handgun and shot the burly man in the thigh.
Crack!
A sharp noise resounded, and the burly man clutched his thigh, howling in agony, "My leg, it hurts so much!"
This move clearly worked; it stunned the people outside. They said in shock, "Fuck, they’ve got a gun, fall back, we’re not here to capture anyone!"
Instantly, the group frantically retreated, the burly man managing to crawl out despite the severe pain. The bodyguard didn’t stop them because his mission was to ensure Li Ruo wasn’t harmed. Although the attackers had stopped targeting the restroom, the bodyguard remained vigilant, never taking his eyes off the door nor lowering his gun. Sweat continued to drop from his forehead.
"Ziwen, is it... is it over?" Li Ruo asked while sitting on the toilet, barely daring to breathe just moments before.
"It seems... it seems it’s over," Lin Ziwen nodded, his face deathly pale.
Outside, smashing continued.
Zhang Lang led dozens of men towards the Futai Group, but halfway through, they encountered an obstacle. Hong Kai led over a hundred men, waiting for them on a bridge they had to cross. Although it was broad daylight, in Hong Kong, hacking people with knives during the day was a normal occurrence. Hence, when people saw so many underworld figures gathered, they stayed far away, with even the patrol police cautioning them, "Don’t get too close; don’t blame others if you get killed!"
The crowd watched from a distance.
"Yo, Zhang Lang, where are you heading?" Hong Kai called out mockingly while smoking a cigarette, "Surely you’re not planning to head to Futai Group?"
"Was it you?" Zhang Lang squinted.
"Indeed, remember this day forever, the tenth of October, the day Hongmen declares war on the Heavenly Reversal Gang!" Hong Kai exhaled a puff of smoke.
"How despicable, knowing full well that my Heavenly Reversal Gang men were in the Northeast, you still have the nerve to declare war?" Zhang Lang realized immediately that the attack was premeditated. This worried him internally; joking aside, there were only over two hundred Heavenly Reversal Gang members in Hong Kong, with most of the key figures in the Northeast, or at the headquarters in Jianghuai City, looking after venues and continuing as security guards.
Additionally, another three hundred gathered in Tongzhou City, but they couldn’t be mobilized. Once moved, if exploited by someone with intentions, it would spell trouble. Although the Heavenly Reversal Gang seemed a thousand strong, due to overextended battle lines and the long training cycles for new recruits, the numbers had dwindled significantly.
"Haha, all’s fair in war, and I merely seized the opportunity!" Hong Kai roared with laughter.
"Humph, you think this few people can trap us?" Zhang Lang sneered coldly.
"This few people?" Hong Kai was taken aback, then cracked a smile and clapped his hands. Immediately, over a hundred people rushed out from the other end of the bridge. Hongmen had many members, with thousands in the gang, so gathering a few hundred people in Hong Kong was not a difficult task.
However, it was different for the Heavenly Reversal Gang, which had to mobilize its brothers from Jianghuai City. If they were to recruit locally in Hong Kong, it would still require some time for training.
Over two hundred people surrounding more than fifty, the spectacle made the onlookers gasp in astonishment. With such odds, it was miraculous if any of the Heavenly Reversal Gang survived.
"Shit, isn’t Hongmen just bullying people?"
"Heh, there’s never been fairness in society, especially in the underworld. It’s common for gangs to prey on each other!"
In the crowd, there was much discussion. In a place like Hong Kong, ordinary people were all too familiar with the underworld. Not only did they watch fights, but many had participated too. Gang fights often involved hiring people to bolster numbers, and whosever side had more people was deemed more impressive. Spectators could earn anywhere from two to five hundred Hong Kong Dollars, which is why many were keen to participate—not only for a decent income but also to experience the atmosphere.
"Humph, Hong Kai, even if you win today, it’s not a victory to be proud of!" Zhang Lang laughed.
"You’re mistaken, today I’m here to take your life!" Hong Kai responded with a cold laugh.
"Then cut the crap, bring it on!" Zhang Lang held a gleaming machete, seemingly ready for the attack any moment.
Hong Kai, with a cigarette in his mouth, waved his hand and commanded, "Attack!"
Roaring ensued...
Two to three hundred people swarmed toward the fifty-odd members. The brothers from the Heavenly Reversal Gang, all trained, didn’t panic upon facing a stronger enemy. Instead, they were incredibly calm; the fifty or so immediately split into two groups of about twenty to thirty each, facing each other so that each man’s back was covered by a comrade.
Zhang Lang led the charge, slicing off the arm of a Hongmen underling. Blood splattered onto those nearby. This boosted the morale of the Heavenly Reversal Gang members, whereas the spirits of Hongmen’s underlings were somewhat dampened.
Soon, both sides clashed, the sound of machetes clashing was incessant. Before long, some started to fall, though initially, those who fell were all from Hongmen. Hong Kai, with a cigarette dangling, coldly watched it all unfold, indifferent to the lives of his underlings—the key was to overpower this group.
However, the resilience shown by the Heavenly Reversal Gang’s underlings was somewhat shocking to Hong Kai. Some, despite injuries, fought desperately. They clenched their teeth, and even when machetes struck their shoulders, they bore it without flinching. This spirit and morale were what Hongmen lacked.
If not for the numerical advantage, those Hongmen underlings would have likely scattered long ago.
"Brothers, push harder, kill them!" Hong Kai gritted his teeth, dropped his cigarette, and charged in with a machete.
Zhang Lang spat out a mouthful of saliva and then went straight for Hong Kai, and the two leaders immediately grappled together.
"Look at the Heavenly Reversal Gang’s momentum! It’s formidable!"
"Exactly! I heard their leader is no simple man!"
"Who do you think will win this time?"
"If you ask me, the Heavenly Reversal Gang can’t escape their fate. Their spirit is commendable, but they’re just outnumbered; there’s no winning. Unless there’s some unexpected turn!"
The onlooking crowd discussed fervently, referring to ’some turn’ obviously meant possible reinforcements. However, given the current situation, such hope seemed illusory. Still, people eagerly watched on.
Soon, the momentum of the Heavenly Reversal Gang shifted swiftly downward; numbers were indeed critical in gang battles. As each member was injured, their stamina was affected, and quickly, members of the Heavenly Reversal Gang began to go down. One by one, almost all turned into bloodied figures. Yet, Hongmen’s men seemed even more catastrophic—over thirty had fallen, several of whom had already died.
The scene’s intensity left the onlookers in shock, their eyes wide as they watched those bloodied but still persevering members of the Heavenly Reversal Gang. Compared to the Hongmen underlings who lay motionless on the ground after a single stab, the Heavenly Reversal Gang’s underlings were truly heroes.
