The Beautiful Boss's Personal Bodyguard -
Chapter 536 - 535
Chapter 536: 535
"Senior Brother!"
The Black Armored Master supported him, and Bodhi shaped his two fingers into a Sword technique, tapping a few acupoints on his body. The essence Qi of the acupoints roamed throughout his body, quickly revitalizing his entire meridians and cleansing the residual yin qi within his body. Only then was Skull Master’s life force preserved intact.
Ye Tian smacked his lips and turned his head around with a playful grin, "Master, how about we forget about those beads, seeing that they’ve all had a hard time? We might as well give them away..."
Great Zen Master’s eyes bulged, "Are you saying I, your master, had it easy? Go and snatch them for me! I’ve gone through so much trouble to set up this grand spectacle for you, if you don’t win back some face for me, I might as well kill you!"
Just as Ye Tian was about to run away, the old man grabbed the back of his collar and threw him straight into the Barrier. He tumbled to the ground, landing face first in a dog-eat-dirt fashion, looked bedraggled, turned back and glared vehemently at the old man. The latter, however, took pleasure in his misfortune and did not even give him a glance.
The Barrier, not yet free of ghost qi, was chillingly cold, when the warm energy within Ye Tian’s chest came forth smoothly, enveloping his entire body, and no longer did he feel a trace of cold. Ye Tian thought to himself that this was far more practical than thermal underwear and central heating.
While his thoughts were light-hearted, the opponents he faced were anything but relaxed.
Cultivators naturally included those with exceptional talents and gifts, but the youngest prodigy present was none other than Bodhi, who was only thirty years old. The guy in front of them who looked just about twenty obviously couldn’t compare. The lions always go for the softer prey. Ye Tian wasn’t aware that people outside the arena already considered him a pushover. A few who had already given up hope now saw an opportunity - if they couldn’t spar with the experts, they could take out their frustrations on this young fellow, not going home empty-handed.
A bald man with bushy eyebrows strode into the arena, making Ye Tian wonder. This man was a monk, but the look on his face was clearly not that of compassion. Not a monk, yet with the hairstyle and the short garb unique to the ordained, he really seemed like a monk!
"My name is Kabuzai, a cleric from a mosque, practicing the Powerful Vajra Dharma Method. I hope for your guidance."
So it was the Vajra Bodhisattva Dharma Method, no wonder this man had such a rough and tough appearance.
Ye Tian didn’t dare to be complacent; just about anyone here was his elder, and they all had far more experience. Maybe they’d strike with deadly force right from the start. Putting aside the matter of face, just for the sake of his little life, he decided to stay respectful. Perhaps if they fought later, remembering how polite he had been at this moment, they might go easy on him.
Concerning his own life, Ye Tian was quite mundane, valuing life above all. He truly was a young man who cherished life.
"My name is Ye Tian, and I ask for your guidance."
The barbarian monk merely snorted coldly and threw a punch at him. Ye Tian, seeing this, quickly waved his hands calling for a timeout. The poor barbarian monk, in the midst of his punch, had to abruptly stop, nearly throwing out his back.
"What do you want?"
The monk’s English was not very authentic. Ye Tian heard traces of an accent and figured this man must be from some rural village area.
Ye Tian waved his hands, pointed at himself, and then at the monk, "I think we, are friends, and friends should not fight each other. What do you think?"
Monk frowned, "I don’t know you."
Ye Tian pretended to be angry, "How can you not know me? Have you forgotten that last time we met, we even admired the snow together?"
The Great Zen Master standing outside slightly curled his lips, seeming to think that Ye Tian’s words lacked sincerity.
The Monk was even more puzzled. "When did I ever admire the snowscape with you? Stop talking nonsense!"
Ye Tian looked regretful, "Could it be that you’ve forgotten the scene when we last admired the snow? That day, the snowy mountains extended far into the distance. There were four of us, you, me, and both the Angry Vajra Bodhisattva and Guanyin Bodhisattva, battling the elements at the peak of the snow-capped mountain. You said that one day you would be a person of great talent and would sit and become an Immortal, wanting to see all the famous mountains and great rivers of the world. I admired your ambition and said I would travel the ends of the earth with you, discussing Buddha cultivation, and indeed it was delightful! When we parted ways, the two Bodhisattvas even personally escorted you down the mountain. Although upon waking, it was all but a dream, this extraordinary experience of the Divine Monk is precisely the opportunity for your future Immortal Cultivation towards enlightenment."
The crude Monk relaxed his clenched fists and his expression eased, "Is that so?"
"Absolutely true!"
By saying this, Ye Tian lost his integrity.
"Is brother here for the Buddha Bead Relics too?" Ye Tian asked.
"Indeed, if I can get hold of the Buddha Bead Relics, it couldn’t be better. It would not only increase profound cultivation but also reduce the time needed for Cultivation, which is, of course, more than great."
"Brother, that’s where you’re wrong," Ye Tian waved his hands, "Brother is someone predestined to ascend the mountain with the two Bodhisattvas and return from the mountain’s travel. Your future cultivation will certainly not be poor. As long as you diligently pursue arduous Cultivation, you can certainly become a Divine Monk. However, if you are too eager for a shortcut on the path of Cultivation, I’m afraid it will backfire, missing the essence. Those who achieve enlightenment and become Immortals are all individuals who have the willpower and perseverance to wear through their meditative mats. If it’s merely for convenience and to reduce time, I believe even the Buddha one becomes won’t please oneself."
The body of the opposing crude monk jolted; he instantly clasped his hands together in gratitude, "Brother’s words today have truly awakened me like a thunderclap. I cannot thank you enough!"
"Think nothing of it. As Buddha said, ’If I do not enter Hell, who will?’ Brother, you should still hurry and devote yourself to diligent Cultivation, and don’t let external matters disturb your inner peace."
The crude Monk didn’t throw a single punch and was sweet-talked down by one of Ye Tian’s dreams, leaving everyone staring dumbfounded.
With those words, Ye Tian lost his moral integrity.
After defeating the Monk, Ye Tian flashed the Great Zen Master a classic scissors-hand gesture, grinning widely showing off his large white teeth. His eyes brimmed with sincerity, his smile hung with integrity, his whole being was full of moral fiber.
Ye Tian, a novice just past his apprenticeship, won his first battle without fighting, a complete victory. Although the process was somewhat shameless and the actions unsatisfying, it was a genuine win.
Watching Ye Tian triumphant, shouting his victory, and shamelessly making scissor hand gestures, the Great Zen Master sighed inwardly, with this guy around, what worries are there that Buddha won’t be infuriated to death!
The ghost qi within the Barrier was still there, only weaker than before. Ye Tian initially thought to seize the good opportunity and leave, but before he walked far, someone came in, called out for him to stop. Ye Tian turned his head to look, immediately groaning at the headache, as it turned out to be the Thailand State Preceptor who played with insects.
