Chapter 186: Behind The Dark Corner (2)

Cassian’s dark lashes fluttered dizzily when her soft mouth moved against his in a hesitant approach to take the lead, and after being snapped from his dazed state to realize he wasn’t hallucinating, he willingly parted his lips to give way to her small pink tongue that subconsciously delved right into his mouth, as though it knew what it had to do without waiting for instructions.

Instantly, it felt like she was the one losing control of the kiss when his arms immediately wrapped around her in his embrace, pulling her body close against his as he took her attempted kiss to the next level, forcing a cracked moan out of her.

Meanwhile, Klaus, who was getting tired of searching, lowered his lantern when he could no longer signify where the earlier voice came from. He scratched the back of his head with his uninjured arm, giving the area one last glance to confirm if truly it was empty before shaking the thought from his head.

"I must be excited to the point I’m hearing things." Was what he used to convince himself before sighing disappointedly and walking away.

Behind the deep dark corners of the building, Madeline’s eyes widened when Cas’s ferocious tongue explored the corners of her mouth, stealing every inch of her breath away. His kisses were hot and demanding, and her fingers clutched tightly against the collar of the shirt, holding on to him as she never expected her attempt to distract him would lead to awakening more of his desire.

How she had forgotten Cas’s Unquenchable thirst when it came to blood and pleasure. The only difference was, she was able to adjust to his lip sync movement without acting clumsy like the first time.

She felt weak on the knees, and as the kiss deepened with no sign of stopping, Madeline could taste the tip of his sharp fangs against her tongue, reminding her that he was still in his vampire form, and that broke her from the trance of his addicting kisses as she seized in her responses.

Carefully, she broke the kiss when she could no longer take it, her eyes gazing up at him in astonishment. He was still temptingly beautiful in his vampire form, and his eyes glinted with pure hunger as they were now set on her. She had gained his focus just like she had planned.

She knew he could smell the blood pounding through her veins. She knew how much he wanted it.

"I want to be careful with you." He whispered, the worry displaying in his eyes. "I don’t want to hurt you."

Madeline nodded her head in understanding, her own heart drumming faster than it had ever done. Out of instinct, she reached up and ran her fingers through his hair, feeling the cool strands slip through her fingers.

Like a fire being set ablaze from her light touch, Cassian leaned down and captured her lips possessively, dominating her as he flipped position, and Madeline could feel her back against the wall. This time, his fangs grazed her lower plump lip, sending shivers down her spine as she trembled against him.

Madeline stifled a moan as she wrapped her arms around his neck, her hands slipping into his hair and tingling his scalp.

The thought of Klaus catching them both no longer mattered at this point. All she cared about was Cas and how his cool body was impossibly pressed against hers.

As the kiss drew on, Madeline could sense her heartbeat awakening everywhere - in her hands, her feet, and even her knees.

She realized she was falling deep and deeper into the feelings she had warned herself not to experience. But how can she not when the feeling felt too good to be true!

Cassian was indeed dangerous and unpredictable, but he was also passionate and intoxicating. Was she starting to become addicted all of a sudden?

Pulling back as the alarming thought invaded her mind at the nick of time, Madeline didn’t give Cassian the chance to seize the opportunity again as she peeped through the shadowy darkness, and there was no sight of Klaus.

"He’s gone." She breathed in relief before wisely pulling away from Cassian to have a closer look into the street.

The young lad leaned his back against the wall, letting out an unsatisfied breath as he ran his fingers into his hair. He closed his eyes to recover from the little moment they just shared, trying his best to cool his burning system with her limited absence.

It didn’t take too long before Madeline returned, and to her quick relief, he was looking at her with the usual Amber-brown eyes she was used to, and she hurried to his side.

"You changed back!"

"Mhmmn." He nodded, clicking his tongue. "I’ve also noticed something too, my arousal channels faster in vampire form, so the effect can make one a bit aggressive." He explained the situation to her, but Madeline didn’t look the least offended to begin with.

Deep down, she had the intention of responding that even without being in his vampire form, he can be aggressive and lovable when aroused.

"I know," she finally responded, "but it’s not something you have to feel sorry for." She stood, immersed in guilt, heat and surprise, her face red like that of a child before she could muster enough wits to change the subject.

"Good news! I found a carriage we can use for the journey." She whispered, and Cassian seemed surprised upon hearing she found them a carriage, and so quickly?? Wait, Is that even possible at this hour?

"How is that--"

"Klaus couldn’t have made it to this part on foot, surely he brought a carriage along with him. Right? And considering his status, if by chance he loses a carriage, he has more carriages that can fetch him. Doesn’t he?" Madeline hinted with a wink, and Cassian, who seemed lost some minutes ago, flinched in surprise after grasping what Madeline meant.

"Are you implying we ’steal’ the carriage?"

"Not steal, borrow." She corrected before muttering, "he just doesn’t need to know." She shrugged with a smile.

"That is stealing." Cassian emphasized in a blatant tone, and Madeline’s smile dropped.

"You don’t like the idea?"

"Like?" Cassian scoffed, "that idea is Fantastic!" He gave Madeline a high-five for it, making her proud smile return, and he helped her adjust her helmet.

"Well, we’ll be in need of a Military guard, what do you say about another role-play?"
