At first, Adonis thought the police couldn’t hear him because of the bad network. But seeing them arriving with a search party made Adonis think his 2 years of vacation has slipped away. He also thought about running away by using his abilities but he wanted to taste the flesh of those who accused him of being a murderer. He was angry but at the same time, he was excited.

He wanted to play with everyone a little bit and experience the prison.

The police arrested Adonis after hearing everyone’s statement that he was an ability user and he killed Kanna even though they couldn’t figure out who the girl named Kanna was. The rotten body was nothing but a mystery.

’I can’t get rid of this feeling that my master will come out soon and destroy the planet.’

Adonis was sweating with a faint smile on his face while he was taken to the superhuman agency as a criminal.

Somewhere in the Triple X Corporation, the department of police.

Directive Shida was sitting in front of the five of them, waiting for them to relieve what actually happened.

’I can’t believe where this is going. This kid named Mahiko said Futaba killed Kanna. I can tell by my ability that he is telling the truth. Rika on the other hand is saying Futaba is an ability user but he hid it to kill everyone. Her statement wasn’t a lie but it had a mix of lies. But when I ask about Kanna, everyone is telling lies. There is no girl named Kanna. But the evidence they gave me is enough to prove someone went missing and our memories have been wiped out.

I assumed there was someone out there with a broken ability but there was no record. And now, we have arrested a kid whose ability is unknown. Maybe he is the person with his ability and planned to kill everyone. But something doesn’t add up. This type of case has repeated every 20 years. Futaba Adachi is only 17 years old. I think at this rate, I might be looking at a case which has multiple cases tied up together. I need to have a conversation with this kid called Futaba..’

Shida was confused. He couldn’t figure out the identity of the dead body nor the reason behind the kids’ irregular behaviour. When they were saying Futaba killed Kanna, he could tell it was true. But when he was asking for Kanna’s identity, it came out as a lie. So Shida thought only Futaba could answer it. He then walked into the room where Futaba was handcuffed with an anti-ability device.

He took a seat in front of him and threw a pile of papers in front of him.

"Futaba Adachi, 17 years old high schooler, top student and good at everything, ability user but you’ve never revealed it to anyone. Am I correct?"

Adonis lifted his head and stared at Shida with his bright orange eyes. He felt a chill down his spine after Adonis looked straight into his eyes.

"Detective Shida, I can’t believe how my master would do with you if he finds out I was arrested by some mortals."

"Hey kid, do you have an 8th-grade syndrome or something? Calling me a mortal when you’re a mortal as well."

Adonis laughed and said, "You can see through lies, right? Then tell me how my words feel. I didn’t kill Kanna. Kanna was killed by something else. I just happened to become the victim because I agreed to play the game."

Shida was shocked to see none of his words were lies. Kanna was indeed a real person and what Futaba said was true. He didn’t kill Kanna and was falsely accused.

"What.. what you just said is true. But now that I have witnessed the whole situation, I believe you have the ability that is messing up with my ability. Is it some type of ability that messes with the brain?"

Adonis showed him his handcuff and said, "But I am currently handcuffed. How can I use my ability when I am wearing this?"

Shida looked at the small device which was stuck with the handcuff and realised he wasn’t lying. The device was working fine.

Adonis then laughed and said, "Mortals are really stupid except my master. They have lots of trust issues. Listen, Shida. You shouldn’t get involved with this case. This is something nobody can control and will continue probably forever as long as the quest exists. You can’t stop people from disappearing."

What Futaba said was true and that made Shida think if the device was working or not. To him, Futaba was a person with mental health problems. He was living in a fantasy and probably had killed Kanna by using his ability.

He had studied from the most prestigious ability users academy and he knew the nature of ability users. The more powerful they are, the more they get disconnected from reality and become mentally ill, leading them to cause crime, disturbance to society and worse, disaster.

So, he just shook his head and left the room.

’I can’t believe I actually caught someone very powerful. I need to send him to the black prison before he does something horrible.’

2 days later...

Shida was working on a different case after Futaba Adachi was taken by the national superhuman security and put into the black prison. He was still interested in the missing case so when he was about to look through the file, the boy named Mahiko called.

*H..Hello?*

"This is Detective Shida speaking."

*I.. I think Futaba kidnapped Rika this time. Why did you let him go?*

"Rika? Who’s Rika?"

*Detective, there were 5 of us when you arrested Futaba. Now, Rika has disappeared from everyone’s memory and it’s just us. Everyone has forgotten about her.*

Shida ignored the kid and played the footage where he was talking with the kids 2 days ago. There, he saw an extra chair, extra paper on the table and noticed unnatural silence in the conversation.

’Just...what the hell is going on!’

Meanwhile in the black prison of criminal ability users...

’Woh. This prison is huge.. They sure spent so much money building this. And the devices also cost them lots of money that prevents a person from using his ability.

Sadly, none of them works on me.

After my seal was lifted, I could open my dimension room without any problem. I asked the system about this and it said the quest was cancelled. Means, I won’t be able to tell lies about my real identity. If someone asks my name, my mouth will automatically tell everything.’

After wearing his prison clothes, a prison staff brutally kicked him inside his new cell and said, "F*ck you, bastard. Just rot and die here."

Adonis became worried about the future of this world. "Just for the sake of this world, I am holding in my anger." He then looked at the ceiling and mumbled, ’Why am I going through such humiliation for the sake of some mortals who will eventually die one day and reincarnate as a goblin-_-? Should I just dominate this world? I have lots of options but first, I really want to eat Ryoko. As a demigod, I can absolutely eat anyone if I want and nobody will complain. I am a demigod after all. It’s the mortals who should obey me.’

Adonis sat on the small chair in his luxurious prison cell and opened his dimension pocket. He took an infinity mana stone and without hesitating, he swallowed it.

’With this, my current body is immoral.’

Suddenly, the door to this cell opened and Shida walked in.

"Isn’t it the curious Shida? Did something happen?" Adonis asked and chucked a little.

"Futaba Adachi. How did you do it?" Grabbing his shirt, Shida again yelled, "Why did you kill Rika this time! And how are you even doing this?"

Adonis smiled and said, "Shida. I told you already. You can’t stop people from disappearing. It’s something mortals can’t control or stop."

Shida looked at the advanced anti-ability device around Futaba’s neck and said, "Is this even working? How can you even use your ability while wearing this? Did you break it?"

*Sigh* "You are not planning to listen to me at all, no?"

"I do not want to listen to a liar like you, Futaba. I have also received a complaint that you hacked into the traffic control department’s server and downloaded a video footage. Which is also a crime so I will do everything to keep you inside this jail for as long as I can. Now, I have a question and I want the true answer. How did you kill Rika?"

"Detective, you’re accusing me of killing when Rika doesn’t even exist. She was taken, no. Should I say her existence was deleted by the system. But don’t worry, she will reincarnate as a healthy baby."

"Stop...stop messing with my ability!"

Adonis sighed again and said, "You really have some trust issues, don’t you? Keep that in mind. In just 2 years. All of them will disappear except for one. And this game will continue to repeat every 20 years, probably forever."

Shida was shocked to hear that he knew about the unnatural case where kids disappear like they don’t exist.
