Chapter 267: The Mourning Ceremony. Part 6

In just a minute, all of them decided who was going to hide. Except for Adonis and Ryoko who seemed uncomfortable even to look around and for that reason, they were selected as seekers.

Rika, who was super excited suddenly looked at Adonis and said, "So Futaba. Let’s see if you can find me or not. I will make sure to win and you better buy us ramen for dinner."

"Ahaha!! We will see about that, right Ryoko"

"Y.. yes. Let’s just start the game and leave quickly." Ryoko took off his shoes by following Futaba and left his jacket, bag and other accessories on the entering counter to show respect as Adonis did. He was feeling safe around him so he just copied what he did to make sure not to get into any trouble.

Adonis noticed it all. He knew Ryoko was playing safe so he was happy. He actually wanted someone beside him so he didn’t complain.

’I am surprised Ryoko is following me. He might not notice it but he actually has a sharp instinct, more like a superhuman ability that helps him to differentiate between dangerous and safe situations. It’s more like a survival instinct. He can also avoid spiritual attacks to some degree and physical attacks. It won’t be surprising if he dodges a bullet. But he might notice it at some point in his life but I don’t really care.. All I care about is my quest and leaving this funky-named planet.’

Meanwhile, Kanna and Mahiko who were planning to hide suddenly thought of something naughty. They didn’t want to let go of the golden opportunity and Adonis also understood what they were thinking.

’Well, it’s good for me too. I can move into the next stage quickly.’ So he clapped his hand and said, "Then, I will start to count to 10 very slowly. Since this house is very big and it’s raining outside, I don’t think everyone can hear me counting. I will come to find you guys after 5 minutes so go and hide. Ryoko and I will stay here at the doorsteps and we promise we won’t follow anyone."

Kanna and others accepted his proposal and right after Adonis turned on his countdown on his phone, he warned, "Be careful guys. Someone might disappear."

Everyone heard his warning but none of them paid attention. They just ran inside the house leaving Adonis and Ryoko. Right after they ran, Ryoko said, "What do you mean someone might disappear?"

"Oh. As you said, this house isn’t an ordinary house. Tell me Ryoko, what was the reason behind our hiking?"

"To find the abandoned house stands inside the forest. I heard this house grant wishes if someone stays inside for a night."

"Then explain those extra pairs of shoes."

Ryoko scratched his chin while thinking for a minute and finally answered, "I have two conclusions."

Adonis raised his brows in surprise.

He then continued, "One, someone already lives in this house but they aren’t coming to check who broke in. They must be angry so they are waiting for us to appear in front of them so they can attack. Ordinary people won’t live inside this house far away from people so I think they are those so-called hidden superhumans, a group of criminals, psychopaths. If my 1st conclusion is true, we are pretty much f*cked up."

Adonis chucked a little bit and asked, "And the second conclusion?"

"The second one is solely based on the rumour I heard from the school. Even though I don’t believe in ghosts or spirits, the sudden appearance of the house, unnatural heavy rain, a house that looks abandoned but pretty much neat and clean, all of these variables are leading me to believe this house is haunted. We got caught up in something dangerous. Tell me Futaba, do you believe in such things?"

’Oh, he’s not a stupid one, but a really clever one who can think clearly in tough situations. As expected of a super ability user.’

Futaba had a weird smile on his face that made Ryoko feel uncomfortable. "You’re right. I agree with you, Ryoko. This house isn’t an ordinary house. And I can feel something is not right just like you. Those idiots just ran inside the house without thinking. I do believe this house has something but I don’t think this wish-granting thing is true. It was just rumours."

*BEEP..BEEP..BEEP...*

Adonis looked at his phone and saw 5 minutes were up. He then said, "Ryoko. I think it’s time for us to move. Before we go let me warn you. Don’t make too much noise when you walk. You must stay right beside me, it’s better if we hold hands. I know it’s better to split up but we aren’t in an ordinary house. Even if it takes more time, we should look for others together."

Without any hesitation, Ryoko grabbed Futaba’s hand with a tight grip and said, "I am not interested in men so don’t have any wild thoughts."

"Ugh, just die, man. I like girls with pinkish skin. Those with big thighs are my type."

"So you’re into thighs huh? I accept you as my companion, brother. Let’s get all the girls with thick thighs after we get out of here."

"Ahahaha!! I bet you can get any girl with your baby face."

"Don’t ruin the mode, you bastard!"

Meanwhile in another room.

"Kanna, you’re too close..."

She smiled as she kept getting closer to Mahiko’s face. "K..Kanna?"

"Shush... don’t talk. We might get caught if Futaba hears us. He got the ears of a dog." Mahiko smiled at her comment as he also began to reach her lips. But right at that moment, the sound of someone knocking on a table reached both of their ears.

They jolted out of their steamy moment and looked in the direction where the sound came from.

"Did someone hear us? Did we get caught that soon? 5 minutes aren’t over yet." Kanna complained as she started to inspect her surroundings. She was a little angry because she thought they got caught but Mahiko’s eyes were on somewhere else.

It was on her legs, no it was actually on her thighs and blurry-looking pink undies. The room was dimly lit because of the continuous thunder strikes and that’s what gave him the chance to look at her figure up close.

His mind went blank as his hands moved on their own and grabbed her legs. They were soft, squishy and cold due to the rain outside.

As Kanna felt his warm hands on her thighs, she made a squeaky sound but one of his hands reached her mouth so no sound could escape from it.

His heartbeat increased and then, he pulled her closer to his chest. He whispered into her ears. "Kanna, someone might hear us. So, can you keep it quiet a little bit?"

"Mahiko! What are you doing?" She looked at his face and grabbed his hand. "It’s not a good place to do it."

"I’m not going to do it. It’s just I want to feel you a little bit."

"You’re too much, Mahiko."

"Don’t blame me. You’re the one who jumped on me first. So don’t complain about what I’m going to do with you now."

A minute passed, 10 minutes, 20 minutes but nobody came. But they were still in the mood and they were also happy about it because they were having a good time. As the time passed, they finally calmed down and checked their watch. It was 8:17 at night.

Suddenly, another sound came out of the wardrobe in the corner of the room. Unlike the previous sound they heard, it was louder that made their heart drop in their chest.

"Um. Mahiko. You heard that, right?"

"It might be bats or some wild animals. This house is abandoned so it’s normal that wild animals will take over it. But isn’t it weird that Futaba isn’t here yet? Is he lost or something?"

"No, I think we hid in a room where he was so scared to open the door. I think we will win the game." Fixing her skirt, she approached the corner of the room to wear the shoes she took off before jumping on Futaba.

At that moment, a thunderbolt struck near the house, making the whole room fill with light for a second. And Mahito’s face turned pale as paper because of what he saw behind Kanna.

A white long hand grabbed Kanna before she could realize anything.

The white hand grabbed Kanna by her head and pulled her inside the big wardrobe, leaving her shoes and her phone on the floor behind.

A loud noise of something big crawling above the ceiling quickly vanished as Mahiko kept screaming at the top of his lungs. But he was so shocked that it made him nearly paralyzed. He was unable to move in terror.
