Akira’s POV:

A few hours earlier.

’It’s been only 2 days since I started to attain the academy. Before coming here, I looked through all the teacher’s private life matters. You see, I was a fan of fantasy books and anime back on Earth. And my favourite tag was Isekai.

Before I became a weeb, I used to play games, attain my dojo classes to pass the time. I was a bright student so my study was never bothered by any of it.

Getting a good score, satisfying my family with my good achievements, creating a good group of friends, easily becoming the centre of any attention was my left-hand task.

But there was always something missing. So one day out of the ordinary, I saw my little brother reading manga. Out of curiosity, I went inside a manga shop and bought a good book to give it a try.

That night, The pages printed with black ink opened a new door to my life. The smell of the book, the scenery every page filled with excitement, the thrilling adventure of the main character, the unrealistic plot kept me awake all night until the sun came up.

I felt like my mind grew wings on its back and flew outside of the world to capture its wildest dream.

From that day, I became a fan of fantasy books. After that, I studied more about it and became familiar with monsters, heroes and magic. As a weeb, getting isekai’d became one of my wildest dreams.

But who knew my luck would look up to me? That day, I called my college friends to a cafe to study. They were all elites and I doubt they had ever raised their heads from books. They were all study nerds and I was the only one who read manga and watched anime throughout his board exam season and entrance exam.

After we started to read, the cafe suddenly turned silent. The lights went out and we felt warm light under our feet. When I looked below, I immediately knew what was going on although my mind was refusing to believe it.

Magic is a thing that doesn’t exist on earth so it was hard to believe it. At first, I thought someone was pulling a prank on us. But when I saw the floating screen in front of me saying ’Do you want to save the world and become a hero?’

My instinct clicked on the option ’Yes’ without hesitating. But at that moment, the pretty bitch in my class grabbed my hand and started to scream.

I thought I was the only one who was getting summoned but who knew I was the only one to click on yes as the group leader?

In just a second, the whole group of seven appeared on a vast white floor of emptiness. My blood was boiling in excitement and the others nearly pissed their pants.

We were all confused at first but when we saw a tall, not just tall, the man we looked at was massive. He was big as a titan with cat ears.

"Welcome, brave heroes from the other world. I am sure you all must be confused but be at ease. I am the administrator of the world ’Erok.’ Thank you for accepting my request."

That was the day my world turned upside down. I craved power, adventure and riches so I wished for a godly skill.

The administrator, no should I call him a god?

I asked God to give me the strongest skill he can offer me. He accepted it without any question but there was a catch.

I hoped for Immortality but he didn’t give that to me directly. Instead, he turned my quest into a reward saying that I should defeat the demon lord.

But it was better than having nothing. But he wanted us and sealed our mouths. He told us not to speak about him. He told us that his existence should be kept secret from the demon lord and the people of Erok.

Of course, there was a seal in our mouth so we were unable to speak about that moment anyway. Not only that, we are all currently unable to write it down on a page or use hand gestures.

After we reappeared inside a hall, a crowd cheered on us saying that brave heroes were here to save them. But I couldn’t understand why the summoning ritual picked up random nerds from college who had zero knowledge about the fantasy world?

I can assure you that I’m not one hundred percent a good guy. I used to date tons of girls and made them sleep with me. I may look innocent but I am a thug with big brains.

Books, sports, charity work had never met my expectations so I used to beat around juniors from other schools. To keep me entertained, I’ve tried using drugs but they were so disgusting that I ended up losing my appetite for days.

So what I am saying is, I am not a righteous person. So why was this Hero title bestowed upon me? Not just me, all those nerds who came to this world with me had bestowed that title.

My wild instinct suddenly gave off an irritating vibe all over my body.

To ensure my safety, I started to gather information by using my Weeb memories. I was aware of the phenomenal energy called mana or aura but none of them worked.

I couldn’t use magic just by imagining it. Magic is all about one’s imagination and desire but I felt like I was missing something.

It was not just me, all the nerds from my study group were facing the same problem. That’s when the king proposed to send us to a magic academy.

I again began to gather information on the teachers to make sure I don’t get associated with an unknown enemy and that’s when a new teacher caught my eye.

Viktor E. North, a new teacher came from an unknown noble family that I’ve never come across in the imperial office or the royal knight division.

He was so oddly hammering on my instinct that I couldn’t help but assume that he was someone not from Erok. He might be someone from another world or it might be a worst-case scenario.

He might be the demon lord we are aiming for.

But I can’t just babble some nonsense saying that he’s a demon lord and kill him. Can I? He might be a great aid or a wandering magician.

But I couldn’t help but to put my guard up around him. To make sure who he is, I asked for his information on the black guild by paying almost a few thousand golds and here’s where everything becomes interesting.

He works for the black guild and he is an elite member of the guild who carries ’National’ level quests given by the emperor and kings from other countries. He’s above the laws of any guild and he’s a walking disaster.

After I investigated a little deeper, I found out he was responsible for vanishing a whole dark gold mind a few weeks ago. Dark gold is the hardest substance of Erok so it was true that the county was under threat. To stop Romos from taking over the country which could lead to an unnecessary war, he single-handedly managed to vanish the whole mine with one spell.

Many innocent people died during the process but like I said. An elite member of the black guild which is a secret United organisation, he’s above the law. If he’s paid enough money that satisfies him, he wouldn’t hesitate to kill a king.

He is a dangerous person under that extremely handsome face of his.

So why was he appointed as our main teacher and our instructor? Are the other countries trying to kill us? Or he’s just spying on us? Or does he have other hidden intentions that I don’t know of?

I was able to buy a golden guild card with half a million gold and requested information on Viktor but it was not enough to get a full grasp of his identification. To become an elite, I need to complete so many quests, get caught by the guild master’s eye and get the qualifications to become an elite member.

But that won’t be easy even if I work for 10 years. ’

Akira was walking in circles deep inside his thoughts. His instinct was saying that he should run away from Viktor because he might be the demon lord. But the prophecy wasn’t matching his position.

The demon lord should appear and rule the demon world already so what was he doing on the mainland? Moreover, he was an elite member of the black guild so there was no way they accepted someone from an unknown origin to become one of them.

In the midst of his endless thoughts, a knight came into his room and said,

"Hero Akira, I’ve collected the information you asked for. Shall I leave it at your desk?"

’Oh, he already found out where Viktor lives...’

Akira took the papers from his hand and said, "Good work. Now leave."

The knight left the room after closing the door silently.

"Now, let’s see what kind of person he is. He lives outside the town wall in a guild receptionist’s house? So that means he lives in his hideout. I must go and try to collect some information. Since I’m going there as his student, he won’t hurt me, right?’
