Chapter 225: Scapegoat

Before looking through the memories of the golem, he looked through his skills and found a rare skill that only a handful of people had. His skill was called, ’Absolute domination.’ For a monster like him, having a skill called absolute domination was rare.

So Viktor thought, ’How about I play a little bit?’

He made a plan and turned the golem into an undead golem. He wanted to avoid the crowd and attention so he wanted to use the golem as his scapegoat.

Moreover, working as a teacher, observing the heroes and controlling the whole demon realm together was difficult for him with his current body and strength.

It was also difficult for him to level up and study the connection between the heavens tower and Erok as well as the other planets.

"You’re a living being now. Do you wish for a name?" Viktor asked the child.

"If my lord grants me a name, I will engrave it to my soul."

"Well then. From today, you are Azazel Von Numen, the protector of the demons of this planet."

The undead child cried because for the first time, someone named him and believed in him. He was granted a huge responsibility by a demigod himself.

"I will never disappoint you, my lord."

Viktor then looked at the room and said, "I will go inside the chamber now. I have something to take from there. Stay right here and if you’re bored, grab all those cores from the army."

"Understood..."

’Now, let’s see what kind of secret that book holds.’

Viktor walked inside a small chamber with dim lights around the dark statue. It gave off the same vibe as Adonis gave once but it was dead. It had no presence of life inside because all of her body and her soul were turned into solid rock.

Viktor approached the small statue and saw it had a book inside its arms. The girl was protecting the book even before her death.

’How important that book was to this little kid?’

Viktor grabbed the book with his full strength and broke the solid arms of the girl to pull it out. The book was heavy, old but its pages were protected with magic.

But it wasn’t safe to open the book outside his dimension room so he opened the door after a long time and went inside. But surprisingly, his dimension room wasn’t bright. It was in night mode so he assumed it happened because his main body was in deep sleep.

The dimension room reflects the mind of the owners.

’Let’s just read this book and leave after changing my clothes. I’m so uncomfortable in this outfit.’

The moment he unlocked the book, tons of information started to rush into his brain. They were all about advanced technology, the core of the tower and its connection to a galaxy. The person who wrote that book was the only disciple of the god of dungeons but for breaking a rule, he had to lose his existence.

But before that, he was able to pass down all the secrets behind the creation of the tower and secretly installed a bug that would bring potential candidates to the planet Erok. He is the reason why Viktor got summoned to an unknown planet instead of going to the tower floors.

Viktor sighed and said, "Why is everyone so obsessed with me? Potential candidate? What candidate? What do you want me to do? Fight with the great gods who literally rule heaven? I didn’t sign up for any of these..."

He then came out of the dimension room after burning the book and sat in front of the broken statue. He glared at the statue’s face and again said, "Kid, you got some guts to disturb me when I was happily enjoying a cup of tea with Adonis. Now I have to do what the tower tells me to do or it will take my life."

He stood up and walked out of the chamber because it was almost midnight. He had only a few hours left until the sun came up.

"Azazel, did you collect all the cores as I ordered?" Viktor looked at the pile of blue monster stones and found out they were A-class monster cores. They were enough to help Viktor to reach level 100 without any issues.

"Oh, you’ve gathered all the army’s core. Are you going to hold a grudge against me? I killed your companions and ordered you to collect their core. Moreover, I’m going to eat them all."

"I don’t mind at all, my lord. I have become an undead now. I have a great responsibility towards the demon race. I must carry out my duty. It was my fault not to recognize you and ordered them to attack. But I won’t regret my decision. I will follow my Lord’s words even if he orders me to annihilate everyone. I’m even ready to sacrifice myself if the lord wishes."

Viktor raised his eyebrows and thought, ’Not bad, he’s pretty loyal now. And his new record above his head says he is telling the truth. After I made him an undead, a record with a red cover appeared above his head. Red means the person is dead so it is sure he’s an undead. But I didn’t expect him to be this loyal. Well, good for me."

Viktor smiled and said, "My my, Azazel is already following my orders pretty well. I have higher expectations for you."

He then pointed his hand towards the pile of monster cores and devoured it without a second thought. Those cores turned into energy and food to his core but he was a little disappointed.

It only raised 1 level instead of 10.

’Let’s be positive... level 90 is the same as the dragon lord. I can fight with him now even if I want to. There’s an 80% chance that I will win."

He opened his records and looked through his future. But since he wasn’t as strong as before, his record only showed 20 minutes ahead of the future.

He couldn’t see hundreds of years ahead of time like he used to see. So he sighed in disappointment and said, "Azazel, let’s go back to the surface. You’ve never been outside the dungeon, right?"

"Yes, my lord."

"But before that, you need to wear clothes. Your armour is a bit larger than your current size. You won’t be able to carry it."

Even though the child was level 90, his small body wasn’t suitable for carrying large iron armour.

Viktor thought about it for a second and opened his dimension room to check if there were any clothes. He then remembered he had some clothes he bought for Ibuki so many years ago. They were the same size so he took one out and came out of his dimension room.

"Wear these."

"M..my lord. These are weak clothing. They do not have any effects on it."

"Clothes that have effects are for weaklings."

"I.. apologies for the lack of knowledge, my lord."

Viktor kept silent and waited until he figured out how to wear one by looking at Viktor. Azazel then wore it in the right way after some trials and said, "I am ready, my lord. Shall I lead the way?"

"No, there’s no need for walking all the way up to the surface anymore." Viktor cast a teleportation magic around them and in a second, they appeared in front of Keya’s house.

He then quickly cast a mana barrier around Azazel to hide his mana presence and said, "Don’t speak until I say. Read your environment, the people you’re going to meet and the situation you’re in. You’re a talented child so I am hoping for a good outcome in this test."

Azazel nodded his head and hid behind Viktor’s legs. At that moment, Keya walked outside with a lamp and noticed a child with brown skin colour behind Viktor. Its eyes were red and brown that looked like a river of honey passing through the heart of a golden desert. It emitted a peaceful smell that reminded her of her hometown.

The smell of the rain when it falls on dry land.

So she asked, "My lord, who is that child?"

Since Viktor had access to everyone’s records, manipulating their memories wasn’t a hard task. He erased the part where some demons knew Viktor was the demon lord and replaced it with the child.

Thus, in Keya’s and everyone’s memory, the demon lord had become a child who was raised by Viktor and he thinks about Viktor as his master, father and his life saviour.

Viktor then lifted the barrier around the child’s body and made her feel the pure demonic aura from his body. Since he was an undead, his body was enriched with pure demonic aura. It was purer than any demonic aura so she knelt in front of the child and said, "I welcome the saviour of our people, the demon lord. Thank you for bringing our lord safe and sound, sir Viktor. You may go and rest."

Since Azazel was ordered to look after the demon race, he immediately understood it was a test from his lord. So he nodded his head and approached Keya to hold her face.

Viktor then said, "This is my nephew’s first time seeing his own race. Be gentle with him. He’s a bit shy and won’t talk until he’s comfortable with his environment."

Keya then let him hold her face and feel the cold hand of the small child. Compared to other demons, his hand felt cold so he assumed that must be the reason why he is the demon lord.

Keya smiled and said, "Good evening, my lord. I am Keya, I will be in your care from now on."

Azazel smiled because Keya was nothing but a small child in his eyes. He was feeling lucky that he was given the task to take care of the people. He was happy that someone entrusted a whole race in his hand.

Without even realizing it, he became the scapegoat of the real demon lord.

*The skill "Trickster" has reached its maximum level. It will now advance to its higher class.

New acquired skill, ’Laughing Trickster Lv1, Class -S.*

Viktor smirked at his status screen and mumbled, ’A trickster, huh? I guess I am a con man.’
