Chapter 223: New Death flag

Chapter 223: New Death flag

7 hours had passed since Viktor went inside the poison dungeon. He wouldn’t dare to face the golem army because of the lack of his strength. So he chose to go somewhere else to level up before he faces the golem monsters.

But the way to lower-level monsters was so deep inside the dungeon. He went deeper and deeper and passed the upper layer of Erok’s mass.

After going deep into the endless dungeon, he reached a place where all the trees were glowing. The floor, walls, trees and even small bugs were emitting light and aura from their body.

Even a mushroom was glowing like a lamp on a tree’s buckle.

"What a poisonous fantasy world! If I didn’t use my staff to fly inside and a leaf happened to touch my skin, I’d have to sacrifice my whole arm because this fungus would reach my brain and kill me."

’Even the air inside is poisonous but my skills are stopping my body from getting affected by it. Demon lords have high resistance to poison but it doesn’t mean I should touch it. I don’t have regeneration skills so it will hurt a lot."

Viktor flew above to avoid the trees and small bugs and headed inside the path to the next floor.

Nobody knows how many floors that dungeon had but from Viktor’s guess, he was sure he passed more than 20 floors in 7 hours.

But most of them were empty so he thought it was an ancient ruin so all of them must have died a long time ago. Or they didn’t react to anyone’s footsteps since Viktor was using his staff to fly instead of walking.

"The deeper I’m going in, the brighter this place is becoming. I don’t even have to use my night vision eyes to see. But still, it’s good to close one eye in case some traps get triggered and turn off the light."

He then noticed a group of small creatures crawling on the wall in line. They were carrying their food into some small cave.

The shocking fact about those bugs was, they were all above level 40.

Viktor raised his hand and cast a fire spell. The magic needed a chant to activate so he said, "Dark flame..."

The fire went out of his hand and burned the line of bugs. Since the fire wasn’t from his own body, it worked perfectly against those creatures.

The fire soon found its way inside the queen’s nest but the queen was way bigger than he expected.

It broke through the walls and faced Viktor in a rush. The queen bug had the face of a human but its whole body was a mixture of cockroach and spider.

Its hideous look gave Viktor a stomach ache but there was no time for stuffing anything. The queen bug was a level 50 monster.

"You’re ugly..."

And the queen monster somehow understood what he meant and rushed at him with its sharp legs. Its speed was immeasurable but luckily, Viktor dodge all of its attacks even though he was weaker than that.

’I was hoping for a good fight to increase my strength but this monster is fighting by relieving all of its weak points. There are so many openings and it’s just throwing attacks without any patterns. So it isn’t some monster which was born from a dead intelligent being. It’s just a bug that learned to attack from its surviving experience.’

Viktor grabbed one of its sharp legs and pulled it with all of his strength. He then made wind claws above his fingers and pierced through the monster’s heart.

The monster stopped moving because its heart stopped and Viktor pulled out a huge monster core. His hand was stained with purple monster blood.

*Congratulations on levelling up.

Viktor looked at the small bottle forming in front of him. It was smaller than he received before but it was better than having nothing. He immediately grabbed the bottle and gulped down every drop of it.

As before, there was no change in his stats but he knew his main body was getting stronger. Because there was a thread-like link between his avatar and his body. He could feel his body when he closed his eyes and sensed his surroundings.

His body was floating in a dark space with so many floating screens around his body. His main body was asleep, but its core was cultivating on its own.

So he assumed the nectar potions were working well.

’But where do I find the tower’s core if my main body is sleeping? Do I need to create a dangerous result that would create a glitch in the system and forcefully kicks me out like before? Ah.. I don’t know. I need to level up more so I can finally open my book and read my future-_-. I’m clueless.’

Viktor then checked his dimension pocket and found out some of its restrictions were lifted. For that, he was able to take out old wines he bought from the old man’s bar in Omega City. And also, he was able to get access through his healing potions that had the ability to help a missing arm grow back.

"Luckily...but I can’t still enter my dimension room where I can finally start to make nectar potions. The machine is almost done but it needs more upgrades. I need to create a new tank for that too. But how can I possibly open my dimension room if I don’t level up? I need to become stronger to reach that level."

Viktor then looked at the monster core in his hand and achieved his core devouring skill to eat its energy as food. But who knew the blood on his hand would also get devoured by the skill?

The core in his hand disappeared and it went inside his fragment. The bug didn’t have any good skill so his fragment erased them.

For the first time in a mount, he felt full.

"Now I feel more sleepy."

Hours passed after he started to slaughter random monster swarms inside the dungeon. Since he had some hours left before it became Saturday morning, he went for a speedrun instead of searching and evaluating the monsters with his strength.

He killed goblins, bloodsucking bats, mutated hyenas and so many monsters that had no names and looked odd. They were all above level 60 but Viktor didn’t care. He solely relied on his staff and his wind magic to slaughter everything that walked in front of him.

Soon, he finally reached level 60 and received a nectar potion along with a quest. Some of his restrictions were also lifted but instead of being happy, he was shocked to see the quest with a death flag on it.

*New quest: Defeat the "Dragonlord Lv90 that lives above the mountains with the summoned heroes.

Quest clearing reward: Half stage increasing Nectar potion.

Quest failing penalty: Death.

Quest deadline: 6 months.*

"I’m currently at level 60 because I did a speedrun for straight 10 hours without stopping for a second. But the more I level up, the harder it gets to increase my level. I need stronger and skilled monsters to level up but I doubt this dungeon had anything like that. It took me an hour just to increase 3 levels. From my calculation, I need 4 to 5 months to reach level 90 if I hunt 4 boss monsters that have the same level as me in 4 hours."

Viktor sighed and sat on his staff to take some rest. He then took a high potion from his dimension pocket to drink. It quickly healed all the wounds on his body along with his dizziness and sleepiness.

His body came back to square one so he said, "I have no time to sit back and rest now. I need to go inside the chamber of the golem army. Since I have my weapon created from a form-changing green stone, I can slay any monster without any issues. I will use my weapon as a gun now. A sword is for muscle maniacs who love to lift weights for free. There is no such cheat and better weapon than a gun in the whole universe and total existence!!!!!"

He made his green sword into a gun he designed and loaded it with mana bullets. He then said, "The sheriff is back in town, baby!!"

...

Somewhere at the end of the existence, a man with a black cloak was standing. His cloak and his long black hair with glittering dots were dancing along with the rough wind.

He took off his hat and looked at his sleeve to see the snake crawling out of it.

The small snake came out and said, "Siiii... monster. How long are you going to try breaking through the barrier? You’ve lost half of your divine Qi already."

The nameless god took a bottle of potion and drank it to fill his divine Qi core to its fullest. With just a sip of his potion, he reached the highest level a god can achieve.

"Si.... Master, what are you thinking again by staring at the void?"

The nameless god replied, "Even if I eat a thousand stars, I won’t have enough power to break through its barrier and reset the flow of the void. The future has changed. The lord of the time has failed to reset the void so it’s devouring the existence."

The small snake said, "Just like before?"

"Yes, just like before. But this time, the lord of time has failed to reset the void because he lost a piece of his key. It was stolen by an impudent brat. Luckily, it was found in someone I know very well."

"Someone you know very well? Are you talking about that white-haired kid called Viktor, master?"

"Yes, I think we have to go and visit him soon. The void will soon form a crack in existence. Let’s go."
