Chapter 87: Chapter 87: The Game Isn’t Over
The fans of Xia Yuge naturally couldn’t stand their goddess being treated like this, and immediately went to Qin Muni’s Weibo to insult her with harsh words.
Qin Muni had no idea that chaos had erupted on Weibo. It wasn’t until she finished her bath and came out of the bathroom, receiving an apologetic call from Liang Jiuchen, that she found out what had happened.
"Sis, I’m really sorry, I didn’t handle things well."
As the host of the party, Liang Jiuchen inevitably bore some responsibility for what happened at the event.
Qin Muni quickly glanced at the comments under her Weibo, then logged out, completely unfazed, and said, "Actually, thanks are in order. If it hadn’t been for this party, I would have had to wait a lot longer to tear faces with her."
Liang Jiuchen: "...!"
Liang Jiuchen knew Qin Muni didn’t like Xia Yuge, but he didn’t expect her to dislike her to such an extent that she couldn’t even be bothered to pretend to be friendly anymore?
"Sis, you’ve been quite the headline lately. Maybe... you should keep a low profile for a while."
Ever since Qin Muni divorced Xu Yisen, she often trended on Weibo’s hot search list. The news about her making out with Xu Yisen at a nightclub hadn’t even died down, and now news of her feud with Xia Yuge had broken out.
"Jiuchen, why don’t you persuade Xu Yisen to stay away from me? Anything connected with him never works out for me."
"Sis, that’s... really something I can’t help with."
Qin Muni shrugged indifferently, then sincerely mused, "Ah, it’s time to keep a pretty boy."
Hearing Qin Muni mention wanting to keep a pretty boy, Liang Jiuchen immediately changed his tone, laughing ingratiatingly, "Sis, I think your feud with Yu Ge is pretty good. Pretty boys are so boring."
Knowing that Liang Jiuchen was against her keeping a pretty boy, Qin Muni didn’t continue the topic with him, "Rest early, I’ll hang up now."
She ended the call with a simple remark and hung up the phone.
Less than a minute after hanging up, Qin Muni’s phone rang again, with no caller ID displayed on the screen.
Qin Muni slightly raised an eyebrow and, hesitating for a moment, just before the call was about to hang up, she swiped her finger across the screen to answer the call.
"Hello." She softly greeted.
"Hahaha." On the other end came a mechanical laugh, clearly indicating the caller was using a voice changer.
Qin Muni frowned slightly, "Who are you?"
"We’ve been in touch for three years, and you’ve already forgotten me?"
Three years... Qin Muni suddenly remembered that in the three years she was married to Xu Yisen, someone would anonymously send her messages, all containing photos of Xia Yuge and Xu Yisen together.
She relaxed her previously furrowed brow, nodded carelessly, "Oh, I see. Anything you need?" Her voice showed no trace of curiosity or fear towards the caller.
Her indifferent attitude was clearly unexpected for the caller, who burst into laughter again, then continued, "Hmm, just wanted to remind you... the game isn’t over."
After these words, the caller hung up, not giving Qin Muni any opportunity to respond.
Qin Muni immediately contacted Yuan Chengmo, asking him to help locate the IP address of the person who called her anonymously.
Yuan Chengmo agreed to Qin Muni’s request without hesitation and didn’t even ask why she wanted to trace the caller.
After ending the call with Yuan Chengmo, Qin Muni sat on the sofa, pondering over the last words spoken by the caller in the recent call—a game that wasn’t over yet.
A game? She loved playing games, and she wondered what kind of surprise the caller had in store for her.
