Chapter 157: Chapter 157: I’m staying here tonight

At the same time, the room’s door suddenly was knocked on, and a clear "dong dong" knocking sound reached their ears.

"It should be Secretary Tang, back with dinner." Xu Yisen stood up from the chair and walked towards the door to open it.

Qin Muni secretly sighed in relief; for some reason, facing Xu Yisen’s gentle and earnest demeanor made her inexplicably feel guilty.

Tang Haoliang only handed the takeout to Xu Yisen and left, without entering Qin Muni’s room.

Xu Yisen carried the takeaway to the table, taking out the items one by one from the bag, and reminded, "Wash up a bit, and after eating, take a dose of medicine. You should feel better in the morning."

"Okay."

Qin Muni lifted the covers, put on her indoor slippers, and slowly walked to the bathroom to freshen up.

By the time she emerged from the bathroom, Xu Yisen had already set the food out, sitting in the armchair by the table, waiting to dine with her.

Due to her illness, he specifically instructed Tang Haoliang to buy some light food, so when Qin Muni saw the few plates of vegetables and an egg custard on the table, she couldn’t help but lament, "The old doctor was right, being sick during the New Year is really miserable. So much delicious food, but I can only swallow these green vegetables."

Her slightly woeful words made Xu Yisen smile, "Once you’re better, I’ll take you to have something tasty."

"Okay." Qin Muni sat down opposite him, picked up chopsticks to grab a vegetable, and asked while eating, "By the way, how’s the restaurant’s interior renovation going?"

"It should be finished in another month."

"Okay."

Throughout the meal, they rarely spoke, and after dining, Xu Yisen urged Qin Muni to take her medicine.

Having slept the whole day, after taking her medicine Qing Muni wasn’t the least bit sleepy. She took out the book she brought from her suitcase, curling up in the armchair by the window to read.

Xu Yisen picked up the blanket from the sofa, walked over and draped it over her, "Don’t catch a chill."

"Thank you." Qin Muni softly thanked him, keeping her eyes focused on the book in her hands.

Xu Yisen sat at the seat beside her, with a round table between them.

He picked up the tablet he’d earlier placed on the table, continuing to look through company project documents.

In the small town, the night was exceptionally peaceful and quiet, with moonlight like water spreading grace and warmth over the fields beside the hotel, its soft glow falling on the window where they sat.

The gentle lighting inside illuminated them, and occasionally Xu Yisen would glance sideways at Qin Muni, engrossed in her book, his lips unconsciously forming a warm smile, creating a very cozy atmosphere.

After reading for an hour, Qin Muni finally felt sleepy. She refreshed herself once more in the bathroom, and upon exiting to go to bed, she glanced at Xu Yisen still sitting by the window.

Unable to resist, she urged him to leave, "Chairman Xu, it’s late, I’m going to bed. Could you please go back?"

Xu Yisen, keeping his eyes on the tablet, replied without looking up, "I’m staying here tonight."

"Uh, sorry, what did you say?"

Xu Yisen set down the tablet, his dark eyes sincere as he looked at Qin Muni, patiently repeating his words, "I’m staying here tonight."

Qin Muni was evidently a bit puzzled about what he meant by ’here’, and asked suspiciously, "In my room?"

Xu Yisen nodded as if it were obvious, "Naturally."

Originally sitting on the bed, Qin Muni sprang to her feet upon hearing this.
