Chapter 396: Chapter 395 Dangerous Ground of Snake Abyss

Xie Jiuniang carried the aura of the Demon Emperor on her.

The snakes around her dared not approach, yet even so, she had no intention of exploring the Snake Abyss.

Suddenly, with a thought, Broken Sword flew out.

Then, stepping on the Broken Sword, she flew upwards, planning to exit the Snake Abyss.

The Demon Emperor asked, "There are opportunities below the Snake Abyss, do you truly not want to explore?"

"I’m not going, I’m not interested," Xie Jiuniang refused.

The Demon Emperor pressed on, "Are you afraid of dying?"

"Provocation is useless against the younger generation," besides, she didn’t feel that fear of death was shameful—it’s only human nature, isn’t it?

"There’s a place below the Snake Abyss where Dragon Breath Grass should be plentiful," the Demon Emperor suddenly added another sentence.

Xie Jiuniang’s upward flight paused.

Her mind began to stir, but was stopped by her rationality. Dragon Breath Grass was not urgent; she had just entered the Secret Realm and would inevitably come across it eventually.

"Does the Demon Emperor wish to go down to the Snake Abyss?"

Xie Jiuniang got straight to the point, thickening her skin as she spoke, "If you want to go, just go. There’s no need to involve me. I’d appreciate it if you could pick some Dragon Breath Grass for me on the way. Consider it my payment for bringing you into the Secret Realm."

The Demon Emperor really wanted to slap this Human brat to death.

Not at all easy to trick!

He’d just have to put in a bit more effort.

Once the Demon Emperor had left, and just as she was about to fly up to the cliff, Jian Lingyan finally spoke, "Luckily you didn’t agree. He entered deep into the snake lair, where the stench is unbearable, not an overstatement to say it’s rank. Once a person enters, if they get that smell on them, even the Dust Cleansing Technique is useless."

Xie Jiuniang just wanted to snort in amusement.

That damned thing always says she’s afraid of dying, but in reality, It’s hardly any better. When the Demon Emperor was there, It didn’t dare make a peep.

A person and a sword had just landed on top of the cliff.

Bang!

A muffled sound echoed from below the Snake Abyss, making even the ground where she stood on the cliff seem to wobble slightly.

The sound seemed both distant and close.

In fact, there was a fight happening deep within the Snake Abyss.

Xie Jiuniang had no idea what had happened below, but guessed it most likely involved the Demon Emperor.

Several more muffled sounds followed, causing the ground to continually shake.

Some of the larger stones on the cliffs, due to these tremors, broke off and rolled down, creating a rather astonishing scene.

Jian Lingyan exclaimed, "There’s a Great Demon down there."

"A creature that qualifies as a Great Demon would have strength on par with a Divinity Transformation. That heartless Demon Emperor actually tried to provoke me into confronting a Great Demon?" Xie Jiuniang ground her teeth in anger.

Hmph!

Flight takes precedence!

Xie Jiuniang steered her sword away from the Snake Abyss.

The remnant aura of the Demon Emperor on her caused ordinary Demonic Beasts to either submit or turn tail and run upon seeing her.

This greatly facilitated Xie Jiuniang’s escape.

But she had not escaped for long when she noticed ahead a commotion amongst the Demonic Beasts.

"Damn it, is this a beast tide?!"

She hadn’t traveled several miles before encountering a beast tide. The Dragon Gate Secret Realm was truly too dangerous; it hardly left a path to life for disciples in training.

Suddenly, two disciples fleeing for their lives came into view, sprinting directly towards her.

"Save us!"

"Please, save us!"

Xie Jiuniang turned a deaf ear, turning to flee.

How could she be so unlucky as to encounter such a thing?

In her panic, Xie Jiuniang almost used a Teleportation Talisman.

Fortunately, she remembered in time—her master had warned her that in the Dragon Gate Secret Realm, she should not use a Teleportation Talisman unless absolutely necessary, as there were too many dangers in this place, with an eighty percent chance of being teleported into peril.

As Xie Jiuniang fled, she grumbled, "Little Jianjian, in this Secret Realm, there are too many dangerous places; we are all here struggling to survive in the gaps."

"Don’t worry, you still have me!"

Broken Sword whooshed through the air, its speed increasing by a notch.

Xie Jiuniang was quite pleased. "Well done, Little Jianjian, you should always put in such effort, your determined self is the most powerful, even I, your master, dare not underestimate you now."

Upon hearing this, Jian Lingyan grew even more spirited.

So, up ahead, one person and one sword sped along, while behind, two people cried for their parents.

One person, truly in danger, finally decided to gamble on their luck and used a Teleportation Talisman to leave.

An injured person gritted their teeth in resentment, glanced hatefully at Xie Jiuniang ahead and crushed a Secret Realm Token to leave.

How long had they entered the Secret Realm?

And now, someone was fleeing out of the Secret Realm in disarray!

Xie Jiuniang had finally shaken off the beast tide.

She chose a different direction to leave, only to run into another beast tide; here, disciples from various sects were fleeing for their lives while throwing Spirit Talismans and Thunder Explosive Beads behind them.

Xie Jiuniang witnessed a person get viciously torn apart by a Demonic Beast and then devoured.

And so, the escape continued.

It wasn’t until she had run for most of the day that she finally threw off the beast tide.

She came to a mountain of stones.

At the foot of the mountain was a small saltwater lake.

On the shore of the lake were some whitish stones that were very likely salt rocks. There were no Demonic Beasts in sight, but there were some beast tracks, probably drawn here by the salt lake.

Xie Jiuniang concealed her presence.

Sitting behind a rock, she began to reflect.

"Hahaha..."

Jian Lingyan laughed so hard he was gasping for breath, "Silly master, you’ve played yourself, hahaha."

"I didn’t expect it either."

Xie Jiuniang truly hadn’t expected things to turn out this way.

Earlier on, someone had used Beast-Attracting Powder on her, and she retaliated, but encountering one beast tide after another and getting caught up in them was a bit much. However, those with Beast-Attracting Powder on them certainly weren’t getting off easy.

Just now, she had seen someone get devoured by a Demonic Beast.

After setting up a seventh-tier Formation, Xie Jiuniang preferred not to move for the time being.

Once the Formation was properly set up, she threw out the Law House that Chaoyan had prepared for her and hid inside, then drank a cup of Spiritual Tea to calm her nerves.

It took quite a while before she finally recovered.

All of a sudden, there was another tremor, as if a dragon beneath the earth was turning over.

Jian Lingyan said, "It’s the commotion from beneath the Snake Abyss, the fight’s not over yet."

"A battle between the powerful, you think it’s kids playing house? It takes at least a few days to distinguish the winner," Xie Jiuniang recalled the mighty battles she had witnessed in the past.

They were always many against few, swift and decisive.

One-on-one, it wasn’t that easy to emerge victorious.

Unless there was a great disparity in strength.

Xie Jiuniang thought of the strength of the Demon Emperor. "The Great Demon beneath the Snake Abyss can actually fight the Demon Emperor to a standstill? I remember the Demon Emperor being very strong."

"This is the Secret Realm. Even the Demon Emperor’s formidable strength is subject to certain restrictions here. Using power that exceeds the Secret Realm’s tolerance could trigger unfavorable phenomena, like being repelled by the Secret Realm."

"Repelled by the Secret Realm, as in being sent out of the Secret Realm?"

"Yes, being sent out is still okay. If the Secret Realm directly kills, that would be troublesome." Jian Lingyan had recovered many memories and knew more and more.

Now, Xie Jiuniang didn’t have time to pay attention to the situation at Snake Abyss. After all, she couldn’t interfere in the battles of the powerful.

She took out the Secret Realm Map and began to study it.

Not only did she study it herself, but she also asked Jian Lingyan to study it and then let the Sword Spirit lead the way. Just like in the Lu Yuan Secret Realm, with the Sword Spirit around, Xie Jiuniang didn’t have to worry about getting lost.

"Let’s go to Dragon Nest Mountain first."

The map indicated that there was Dragon Breath Grass on Dragon Nest Mountain.

One person and one sword, they cautiously made their way to Dragon Nest Mountain.

Along the way, they did encounter other people, but with Jian Lingyan’s warning, Xie Jiuniang chose to avoid them in advance.
