Chapter 356: Chapter 355 I’m more generous to my master
In the Turtle Shell Space.
As soon as Xie Jiuniang entered, both Chaoyan and Pulang looked over at her.
On Chaoyan’s arm hung a Little Fatty.
Then, Chaoyan resumed his original appearance, though he did not change his robe.
Pulang sighed with relief upon seeing him.
When he saw the youngster was Xie Jiuniang, he felt even more reassured. His mind relaxed, and with it, his vision darkened as he collapsed.
Chaoyan stepped forward to take his pulse and after examining him, he said, "He has fainted."
"How is his injury?" Xie Jiuniang asked with concern.
"Quite serious." Chaoyan took out a Healing Pill and stuffed it into Pulang’s mouth.
Although Pulang was unconscious, he still swallowed the pill.
Xie Jiuniang asked in a low voice, "What about his blood poison? Has it been resolved?"
"Not sure, your master is not a Medical Cultivator."
Chaoyan did not know the deal between his disciple and Lord Pulang but since she had arranged for him to be at the Xie Family’s place, he must be someone she trusted. "Let’s wait until he wakes up and ask him. His blood poison is hard to cure. The Danfeng of our Sect has been researching it for over a hundred years and still hasn’t figured out anything."
Xie Jiuniang did not ask further.
Now that Pulang was considered one of their own, Xie Jiuniang hoped that he could live well.
Chaoyan threw the unconscious Pulang into a corner like he was tossing out trash, which made Xie Jiuniang feel a bit guilty, so she fetched the only Seven-Colored Stone Platform from her Storage Ring.
It was the same platform that had once held the Water Kirin Beast Egg.
Chaoyan raised an eyebrow and understood, then picked up the man again and tossed him onto the Stone Platform. "You actually hadn’t given this to him?"
"It’s the last one left," Xie Jiuniang smiled and did not elaborate.
Chaoyan understood. "That’s how it should be, maybe you’ll need it yourself one day."
Then, he laughed again, turned his head to look at the Lord Pulang on the Stone Platform, "But now that you’ve taken it out, when he wakes up, you might not be able to keep it."
"If he wants it, I’ll give it to him," Xie Jiuniang said, thinking of Pulang’s near-death experience. "Consider it a gift to calm his shock."
"You’re quite generous."
"I’m even more generous with my master."
"Hahaha..."
How could Chaoyan not know his little disciple’s character?
Then, he looked around his disciple’s space which was quite simple. The only piece of furniture was a wooden rack. Upon a glance, all that was placed on the grid were Storage Bags and Storage Rings, and there were quite a few of them.
The few patches of green were a single Enlightenment Tea Tree and Cleansing Spiritual Grass.
The Enlightenment Tea Tree had sprouted a dozen fresh green leaves, which made Chaoyan a bit envious. Before he could say anything, he saw his disciple roughly plucking a leaf from the tree.
The action made his heart skip a beat, "You, be careful, don’t damage the tree."
"The little tree isn’t that delicate," Xie Jiuniang directly used the Enlightenment Leaf to brew tea, then pushed it in front of Chaoyan. "Here, this is to show my filial piety to my master, you’ve worked hard these past days."
Chaoyan was thoroughly pleased.
This was his disciple’s tribute, he couldn’t disregard her kind intentions, could he?
Vermilion Bird felt envious, "Little Chaoyan, I want an Enlightenment Leaf too."
"I didn’t hear that."
Chaoyan picked up the tea his disciple had offered him with respect and then asked, "Disciple, this Enlightenment Tea Tree has grown quite fast. I remember the last time I saw it, it could only sprout tiny buds."
Xie Jiuniang smiled, about to explain.
Before she could, Vermilion Bird said, "Using a big bunch of Breath Soil, and even fencing around just to plant this one tree, how could it not grow fast?"
Chaoyan, "..."
Originally, Xie Jiuniang wanted to say something else.
Chaoyan had just emerged with a Vermilion Bird’s head peeking out from behind him when a palm-sized Vermilion Bird hopped out, its feathers brilliantly colorful and beautiful, prompting Xie Jiuniang to take one look, then another.
The Vermilion Bird settled on Chaoyan’s shoulder.
Its small eyes were rather indifferent, not deliberately so, but inherently, as if nothing in the world could catch its interest.
The Vermilion Bird spoke, "Little disciple, I’ve lived for so long, yet I’ve never tasted an Enlightenment Leaf. I don’t know what it tastes like."
"What a coincidence, I haven’t tasted it either," Xie Jiuniang replied with a smile.
Chaoyan, who was holding his tea without wanting to drink it, almost burst out laughing.
Whether the Vermilion Bird could obtain the Enlightenment Leaf was not something Chaoyan would interfere with; if it managed to get it, that would be its own capability, and if not, he wouldn’t intervene.
Thus, the Vermilion Bird and Xie Jiuniang went back and forth, each sentence revolving around the Enlightenment Tea Tree—an implicit request almost stated outright on one side, and feigned confusion leading nowhere on the other, managing to thoroughly frustrate the Vermilion Bird.
Meanwhile, Chaoyan, having drunk the Enlightenment Tea, had gone into meditation.
Little Fatty had gone off to play with Broken Sword.
As for what was happening outside, Xie Jiuniang paid it no attention; no matter how much chaos there was, Nangong Dou would not be able to find this place.
Pulang regained consciousness quicker than either of them had anticipated.
Upon opening his eyes, he realized he was lying on a hard stone platform and soon discovered that this was no ordinary platform, but one made from Rainbow Stones, containing Chaos Qi far more concentrated than any he had come across before.
He sat up abruptly, "Where is this?"
"Awake? This is my Exclusive Space," Xie Jiuniang responded.
Pulang looked at her, then apologized, "I’m sorry, I wasn’t of much help."
"You’ve done your best, senior; this isn’t your fault," reassured Xie Jiuniang as she poured him a cup of the finest Spiritual Tea and handed it to him, "Senior, please drink some water to moisten your throat first."
While Pulang was drinking tea,
Xie Jiuniang took the opportunity to tell him about the powerful individual who had intervened to save them. If it wasn’t for the Time Retrospection revealing that Pulang was unaware of the Transmission Array, she would surely have asked about her parents’ whereabouts.
"The rescuer was from the Nalan Family in the Southern Region?" Pulang asked, puzzled.
"Yes," Xie Jiuniang affirmed with certainty.
Again, Pulang asked in wonder, "You said the people from the city were placed in the Southern Region? Is that true?"
"It’s true."
"Something’s not right..." Pulang murmured.
Xie Jiuniang’s heart tightened, "What’s not right?"
"I left a Divine Sense on your father before leaving. Even if I can’t pinpoint his location for now, I can be sure he’s not in the Southern Region," Pulang revealed his doubt.
Xie Jiuniang stood up eagerly, "Is that true?"
Pulang did not deny it, "You don’t blame me for leaving a Divine Sense on your father? The situation was dire when I left the city to intercept Ao Zhan. Worried about the chaos making it difficult to locate him, I left a Divine Sense on your father so I could find him anytime."
"Not at all, not at all," she replied.
Far from blaming him, she felt gratitude.
With this Divine Sense, as long as her father was unharmed, Pulang would be able to find him.
Pulang continued, "I was injured before and couldn’t go look for him immediately. The distance might be a bit far now; I can only sense a general direction."
That was enough!
Xie Jiuniang hoped Pulang could recover from his injuries soon.
"Then, this Stone Platform—it seems somewhat useful for my injury, especially when I meditate on it. My body feels a bit more relaxed," Pulang admitted with a candid smile and straightforward tone.
The person who was asking for something didn’t come across as off-putting at all.
Quite the opposite.
Xie Jiuniang nodded generously, "Sure, I’ll give it to you."
"Chirp!"
The Vermilion Bird flew over and landed on Xie Jiuniang’s shoulder.
