The Arrogant Immortal -
Chapter 306 - 305: Then Are You at a Loss?
Chapter 306: Chapter 305: Then Are You at a Loss?
Xie Jiuniang’s foundation was too shallow.
With her abilities, she was unable to mobilize Divinity Transformation. Even if she was the little master of the Demon Emperor’s Palace.
This period, no one with the power of Divinity Transformation had come to the Central Region.
Four Demon Guards had been on Zhengyang Peak all along.
No matter how the great aristocratic families investigated, they couldn’t find any involvement between the Ao Family’s affairs and Xie Jiuniang, just like with the Gongsun Family previously. They suspected Xie Jiuniang but could never find any evidence.
Whether she was related or not remained another mystery.
The prime subject of the discussion, Xie Jiuniang, was slowly making her way to the Main Peak and, after reporting in, met with the busy Sect Master Chaoruo.
Upon seeing her, Chaoruo felt a bit of a twinge in his teeth.
She was clearly a child, yet she seemed slicker than them.
Her composure was a little too steady.
"Disciple Yuanxi pays respects to Sect Master Uncle." Xie Jiuniang adhered to etiquette, leaving no room for criticism.
Chaoruo sent the others away before raising his hand to lay down a Barrier, "All went smoothly?"
"Yes, very smoothly."
Xie Jiuniang took out a Shadow Stone and handed it to Chaoruo.
Chaoruo took it and checked, his expression immediately darkened, "The Ao Family has really brought this upon themselves."
"Yes, brought it upon themselves." Xie Jiuniang mimicked.
Chaoruo put away the Shadow Stone.
After another thought, Xie Jiuniang handed over a Storage Bag.
Chaoruo took it with confusion, then stood up abruptly, "Little Yuanxi, this is..."
"Yes, the Enlightenment Tea Tree."
Xie Jiuniang didn’t find it too useful, "Should I plant this tree for you?"
Chaoruo was stunned, "You don’t want it?"
"Ancestor and Master need it more, Uncle is just a bit short, not yet transformed into divinity."
Such a stinger!
Chaoruo felt that the latter part of the girl’s remark was totally unnecessary.
Enlightenment Tea could enhance the probability of understanding the laws.
Xie Jiuniang was just at Golden Core level, still far from Divinity Transformation.
As a result, Chaoruo pushed it back to her, "You plant it first. When your Master returns to the Sect, you can give it to him."
"Why?" Xie Jiuniang didn’t understand.
"Giving it to this Sect Master might not be safe to keep." Chaoruo sighed helplessly.
Xie Jiuniang only believed him eighty percent, still doubting ten percent, "Uncle, I think you might be tricking me."
"You can think that way if you like. Remember you have Breath Soil, right? It’ll be perfect for planting the tree." Chaoruo’s smile was gentle as a breeze.
Now she understood.
He had his eye on her Breath Soil.
Chaoruo added, "There is an old saying, ’Moving a tree kills it, but moving people keeps them alive.’ This shows that moving a tree makes it hard to survive. Ordinary trees are already like this, let alone a delicate tree like the Enlightenment Tree. But now that you have Breath Soil, it’s secure."
"Alright, I’ll take it back and plant." Xie Jiuniang put away the Storage Bag.
It’s not that I didn’t offer, it’s you who didn’t want it.
However, Xie Jiuniang was still delighted about one thing, the ten-year term had finally passed, and Master Chaoyan was due to return.
He truly was her solid backer.
Just at this moment, five Sound Transmission Talismans came flying in, not from the same person.
The five Sound Transmission Talismans landed outside the Barrier.
Having finished their discussion, Chaoruo withdrew the Barrier to check the Talismans and didn’t avoid Xie Jiuniang while doing so.
"Sect Master, does the trade we discussed last time still stand?"
"Chaoruo, Xuan Qing and the others have returned..."
"This Lord would like to see the Sect Master, how about it?"
"Is there a convenient time for a chat about something?"
"How about meeting that person? What do you say?"
Five Sound Transmission Talismans, five sentences. At first glance, they seemed insignificant, but their combined meaning was clear not only to Chaoruo, but even Xie Jiuniang, who overheard them, understood.
With a thoughtful expression, Xie Jiuniang asked, "Are they the seniors from before whom we couldn’t contact?"
"Mm, they took some time to respond."
In Chaoruo’s heart, he hoped Xie Jiuniang would help these people, even if no trade was involved, at the very least to have them owe her a favor.
Having these favors was highly beneficial to Xie Jiuniang. Of course, it couldn’t be denied that this was also a matter of pure benefit and no detriment to the Tianxu Sect.
At the very least, the Sect’s strength would increase significantly due to this.
Nine Divinity Transformation practitioners, all on the brink of death, had all recovered.
This was an incredibly powerful force.
However, the resource cost was also significant; Chaoruo maintained his silence and simply laid out the situation for Xie Jiuniang. As for what actions to take, that was up to her. "You don’t need to worry about them causing trouble if you refuse. Except for Old Yan and Pulang, and the other three, no one knows about you."
Old Yan and the other three had sworn an oath not to reveal Xie Jiuniang.
When they made contact, Chaoruo only spoke of the matter at hand and did not mention Xie Jiuniang. Thus, these individuals contacted Chaoruo rather than seeking out Xie Jiuniang directly.
Xie Jiuniang inquired, "What do they need? We have run out of Rainbow Stones."
"You, gave them all away?"
Chaoruo looked at Xie Jiuniang with the same sort of look one gives to a prodigal child.
Sitting up straight, Xie Jiuniang asserted herself. "Elder Pulang said he needed Rainbow Stones to save his life."
"So, did you suffer any loss?"
Chaoruo’s words were suggestive, causing Xie Jiuniang to hesitate for a moment before shaking her head.
"As long as you didn’t suffer a loss, that’s fine," said Chaoruo.
Chaoruo knew the specific needs of those four people, "Among the five, one has damaged his Spiritual Soul and needs something nourishing for the soul. Do you have anything?"
"I don’t have that. But would Starwood suffice? Old Yan said it’s used to heal the Soul Source and it works well."
"I’m not sure about that," the Sect Master admitted.
Chaoruo truly wasn’t sure because he hadn’t used Starwood himself. "Is it better than Soul-Nourishing Wood?"
"Probably," replied Xie Jiuniang, who also hadn’t used it, but it should be beneficial for the soul nevertheless.
Chaoruo went on to list what the others needed.
In the past, Xie Jiuniang wouldn’t have dared to promise anything, but now she had the backing of two families with countless years of foundation—if she didn’t have the items herself, couldn’t she search their inventories?
Three of them needed Spirit Plants.
All were incredibly rare Spirit Plants, ones aged over ten thousand years.
Another needed a life-extending method useful for Divinity Transformation or something that could aid in their breakthrough.
"One of them is nearing the end of his lifespan. He must either extend his life or make a breakthrough. Every minor advancement in Divinity Transformation increases lifespan. Oh, this Enlightenment Tea... it should be urgently needed by him." Chaoruo explained the situation, leaving the final decision up to her.
Xie Jiuniang did not immediately agree.
This endeavor wasn’t as simple as making a deal; it was better to stall and see.
Chaoruo smiled and let her be.
Then he waved his hand, indicating for her to hurry back to plant the trees.
Getting up with a beaming smile, Xie Jiuniang said, "Then, Elder, I’ll head back to plant the trees."
After a few steps, she paused.
Turning back, she pulled out a small jar of Monkey Wine and offered it to Chaoruo as thanks for his help this time.
Chaoruo was quite satisfied.
Master Yuanxi truly knew how to handle things.
She was far better than his three disciples.
Xie Jiuniang stepped out of the Main Peak Hall.
The Little Immortal Crane was still waiting outside; seeing her emerge, it immediately came over and she climbed onto its back.
She returned to Zhengyang Peak.
At the foot of the mountain, there was someone squatting there. On closer inspection, wasn’t it Xuanyuan You?
"What are you doing here?" Xie Jiuniang called out.
