Chapter 295: Chapter 294: Worthy of Being the Man Who Is Sect Master

In the Cultivation World, forces that have been operating for tens of thousands of years have amassed foundations and connections that are naturally not as simple as they appear on the surface.

When they truly take action, regardless of the cost, and set out to kill someone, to be honest, even the most powerful cultivators in the Cultivation World would struggle to escape.

It can be said that these top forces have been playing at the edges of the world’s rules for tens of thousands of years, continuously bouncing back and forth, exploiting loopholes to enrich themselves.

If they hadn’t later strayed from their path, enlarging their ambitions and secretly nurturing a Tianji Building instead of just shearing the Child of Destiny, even the Heavenly Dao might not have been able to do anything to them.

Heaven’s net is vast and soundless.

If it hadn’t been for Xie Jiuniang using the Time Leaf to foresee an event before she left the Sect, those people might have succeeded.

Main Peak Sect’s grand hall.

In the chamber exclusively used by the Sect Master.

Xie Jiuniang met with Chaoruo once again.

Seeing that the girl was not opening her mouth, and still had a solemn expression, Chaoruo gestured for her to sit down and have a cup of Spiritual Tea before speaking, "Think through what you want to say, don’t create trouble."

"I never create trouble," Xie Jiuniang stated earnestly.

Chaoruo suddenly thought of his junior brother.

Forget it, it’s better to let his junior brother worry about this girl.

Xie Jiuniang picked up the lukewarm cup of Spiritual Tea and tentatively asked, "Master-uncle, how many Divinity Transformations does our Tianxu Sect have in total?"

"Why are you asking this?"

"Just curious."

"A few on each peak," Chaoruo said vaguely.

Tianxu Sect was administratively divided into seven peaks and two halls.

What Chaoruo referred to as ’each peak’ were the seven peaks: Main Peak, Fafeng, Jianfeng, and the four peaks of Alchemy, Tool Making, Array Talismans.

The two halls referred to the Law Enforcement Hall and the Discipline Hall.

In terms of strength, the Main Peak was the strongest, followed by Fafeng and Jianfeng, then the two halls.

Xie Jiuniang wasn’t quite satisfied, "How many exactly? Three is a few, so is nine."

"Three to six, with the Main Peak having six, no, including your master it’s seven now," Chaoruo said, straightening his spine unconsciously as he did.

Xie Jiuniang did some mental calculations, deep in thought.

Unfortunately, she, as a junior member, couldn’t come into contact with them.

Chaoruo had sensed something was amiss from the moment she entered.

But she was slow to clarify her purpose, instead inquiring about the Divinity Transformations.

Putting down the scroll in her hand, Chaoruo asked, "Out with it, what has happened now?"

After a quiet moment, Xie Jiuniang sighed, "There are not many Divinity Transformations in the Sect altogether."

"Did you think Divinity Transformations were as common as grass by the roadside?"

Divinity Transformations constituted the apex combat power of the entire Cultivation World.

Over ninety percent of the people in the world would not necessarily encounter a Divinity Transformation even once in their lifetimes.

But to Xie Jiuniang, they weren’t something rare.

It’s uncertain whether to call her lucky or unlucky.

In recent times, she learned from her premonition that the number of Divinity Transformations opposing her, a mere Minor Golden Core, was quite exaggerated.

Chaoruo didn’t know what she was aiming for, but still leaked a bit of information to her, "The Sect is exploring a new Secret Realm, and over a dozen Divinity Transformations went along with several dozen Nascent Souls. A group of them returned a few months ago because they were slightly injured and came back to the Sect to recuperate."

Upon hearing this, Xie Jiuniang felt a tinge of despair.

Could she still carry on with her big business?

Chaoruo, thinking of the recent undercurrents surging in the Eastern Region, once again advised, "Don’t leave the Sect recently, and spend more time in seclusion when you’re free."

"Something going on?" Xie Jiuniang instantly sat upright.

"Some unfamiliar faces have shown up in the Eastern Region."

"Is the Sect aware?"

Xie Jiuniang should have considered this earlier.

Some unfamiliar strong individuals had gathered in the Eastern Region. Even if they kept a low profile, Tianxu Sect, which had stood tall in the Eastern Region for countless years, couldn’t possibly remain unaware. However, nothing had happened over the span of several months.

Despite Tianxu Sect’s dominance, it couldn’t simply expel people from the Eastern Region.

That was until Shexi Jiuniang reminded Lord Shaluo about Xi’an City.

Xi’an City was established on the outer fringes of Tianxu Sect, still within the Sect’s territory.

Chaoruo raised his level of concern yet again, and the investigation results were quite troubling. A portion of these stranger strong individuals scattered around the periphery of Tianxu Sect gave him reason to think deeply. He had already begun recalling Sect powerhouses who were out gaining experience last month.

Knowing the timing was right, Shexi Jiuniang asked, "Mentor, do you know how many Divinity Transformation experts have come to the Eastern Region?"

"According to the message passed up, there are over ten," Chaoruo replied.

"If we are aware of over ten, wouldn’t there be even more that we haven’t detected?" Shexi Jiuniang had seen thirty-four Divinity Transformation experts in her predictions.

Several major aristocratic families didn’t even have that many Divinity Transformation experts.

A large portion had come for various reasons, after having been promised something in return.

The Eastern Region wouldn’t be able to withstand a battle of that magnitude.

In the end, Shexi Jiuniang presented a booklet, which listed portraits of individuals, "These people are in the Eastern Region."

Chaoruo took the booklet and started flipping through it, his brows gradually knitting together. Some of the people depicted were known for their nefarious deeds, certainly not of the righteous path. This force, if it came together, could decimate a Great Sect or launch a surprise attack.

Just as Chaoruo’s puzzled gaze shifted toward her.

Shexi Jiuniang simply let out a resigned sigh, "Don’t ask how I know, I just do. I also know these people are staying just outside Tianxu Sect’s territory."

She couldn’t possibly reveal the existence of the Time Leaf.

"Alright, I won’t ask," Chaoruo conceded.

He knew she was young, yet she was sensible. Looking down, he turned the pages of the album, "There are eight Nascent Souls from aristocratic families here? And this one is from the Mo Family," he observed, pointing to the sixteenth page.

Shexi Jiuniang merely responded with a simple acknowledgment, her reaction tepid.

Then Chaoruo pointed at another individual, "This one is an ancestor from the Lin Family."

"These two are Divinity Transformation experts from the Ao Family of the East Sea; this is Su Buhui." Chaoruo identified each person’s background one by one.

Shexi Jiuniang made a mental note of this.

After mentioning several Divinity Transformation experts from the aristocratic families.

Chaoruo added, "Last time, I received news about Lord Shaluo. It said she once owed a favor to the Mo Family. Also, these Divinity Transformation experts have some kind of connection with these people."

By now, he had guessed the reason.

It seemed this grand display of power was all to take down the young lady before him. Those people were truly mad!

Shexi Jiuniang lowered her eyelids.

Her long, slender eyelashes trembled slightly.

"Mentor, if these Divinity Transformation experts join forces to coerce the Sect into handing me over, what then?" The possibility was not non-existent.

Chaoruo snorted with disdain, "Then they are courting death."

He didn’t elaborate further.

In a dire situation, Tianxu Sect could also call for external assistance, still in the name of the Sect.

"Little Yuanxi, don’t worry about this matter. The Sect will not accept any external threats, nor will it compromise because of them. If they truly act in such a manner, resolving your issue will actually become easier," Chaoruo reassured her.

His words were like a calming pill for Shexi Jiuniang.

This matter was originally Shexi Jiuniang’s personal vendetta, and the Sect was her backing. If she encountered issues and requested help from other strong Sect members, she would ultimately have to give something in return or owe a favor.

If these people were to openly threaten Tianxu Sect and demand a person.

Then it would no longer be an individual’s issue.

The problem could be escalated directly to the Sect.

Therefore, when Chaoruo said that it would actually be easier to resolve this way, he was not jesting.

Truly worthy of being a man who is a Sect Master.

This time, Shexi Jiuniang truly recognized the merit of her mentor before her.
