Chapter 271: Chapter 270 The Thief Who Stole Home

Xie Jiuniang walked towards the living room with her small hands crossed behind her back, murmured enigmatically as she walked, "Little Jianjian, you don’t understand some things. Not to mention anything else, but just getting to see Qing Yi more often is a win. Once we leave the Central Region, we won’t get to see him even if we want to."

"Shallow."

"So what if I’m shallow? Staring at you, an old broken sword, every day has made my eyes tired."

"Dog owner, how dare you scorn a sword as domineering and unique as me, unmatched in heaven and earth?"

"Pah, shameless."

While teasing the Sword Spirit, Xie Jiuniang continued toward the living room. "Oh oh, I almost forgot, where does a broken sword get the face to..."

Great, her words nearly ignited another bloodbath.

The Broken Sword had a fiery temper and flew out to beat up its owner!

Xie Jiuniang was quick-eyed and agile-handed, grabbing the hilt and tossing it into the Storage Ring, declaring, "Insolence deserves solitary confinement."

Jian Lingyan, "..."

She arrived at the living room of the palace.

Qing Yi was already seated at the table with Spiritual Tea served by maids early on. The hospitality was similar to that of Humans, and Qing Yi stood up to greet Xie Jiuniang as she appeared.

"Qinghu Clan’s Young Master Qing Yi pays his respects to the Young Hall Master," Qing Yi said formally and respectfully during this meeting.

Xie Jiuniang smiled, "Young Master Qinghu, there’s no need for formalities. What brings you to me this time?"

"It’s about the trade you mentioned last time..."

Qing Yi was very polite, his fox eyes brimming with laughter, focused and affectionate, utterly captivating.

Where was the slightest hint of the arrogance and unreasonableness that others spoke of?

Xie Jiuniang sighed over the two-faced nature of people, "Little Jianjian, I suspect he’s trying to seduce me."

The Broken Sword in the storage space shivered.

Fearing his owner might stray off the path, Jian Lingyan began to rant, "Dog owner, just because someone is a bit nice to you, don’t get too narcissistic! With your height and looks, you’re like an undeveloped child, only a pervert would try to seduce you. Self-awareness is a virtue. He’s the Young Master of the Qinghu Clan; what kind of beauties doesn’t his clan have? Mature, enchanting, bodies sizzling hot, or else one could just stare at his own face to be satisfied..."

"You talk too much."

The next moment, Xie Jiuniang cut off her connection with the Storage Ring, deciding it was time for a certain sword to reflect deeply.

The anxious Broken Sword flew around in the Storage Ring, knocking over many things, especially when it accidentally knocked over a box of Spirit Stones and then plummeted into the pile of stones.

It looked like it didn’t want this, like it accidentally fell into the pile of Spirit Stones.

Again by accident, it knocked over a second box...

Xie Jiuniang, who had severed the connection, was unaware that the Broken Sword was scheming to steal her thunder.

The two didn’t exchange much in the way of pleasantries.

They both got straight to the point: Qing Yi came to ask Xie Jiuniang for Alchemy, to which she replied she had no Spirit Plants.

Qing Yi stated that his clan could provide them, "We’ll take the loss on any failed attempts. Of the successful Elixirs, we only want half."

"Agreed."

Xie Jiuniang accepted the offer.

Qing Yi obviously came prepared, immediately presenting a Storage Bag filled with a large variety of Spirit Plants; Xie Jiuniang was free to decide what Elixirs to concoct.

Qing Yi also added, "If you still need any Spirit Plants, just make a list, and we will find them for you."

"Do you have any medicine that can change Human’s talents?"

"Unfortunately, we don’t have any at the moment, but we will keep an eye out."

"Alright, let me know once you do." Xie Jiuniang put away the Storage Bag, about to say something more.

Then another maid hurried in to report, saying that the Young Master from the Kuimu Wolf Clan was requesting an audience.

Just as Xie Jiuniang was about to have him brought in, another maid reported that someone from the Ape Tribe had come to visit.

"Bring them all up, together," Xie Jiuniang instructed, then turned with a warm smile to Qing Yi, "Young Master Qinghu, I hope you don’t mind. You’re probably more familiar with them than I am."

"Not at all, we’ll do as you wish," replied Qing Yi, his attitude excellent, yet the hand hidden in his sleeve clenched into a fist.

These people must have received news and came especially to upset his rapport with the Young Hall Master.

Qing Yi then shifted his position, sitting even more casually with a long lock of hair hanging by his temples, gently swaying without a breeze, exuding an indescribable charm.

It was very enticing.

And then there were those times when he looked at her casually, his gaze seemed like...

Xie Jiuniang’s heart thumped.

It was not an illusion!

It wasn’t an illusion!

This Qinghu must be seducing her, she would bet her experience from over two hundred years in this life and the last on it.

The cleverest form of seduction was the untraceable kind, seducing someone without their awareness, with all the charm of the fox tribe quietly utilized. Did it really think she was young and naïve?

Fortunately, her heart was as steady as a rock, unmoved.

Whew!

"Kuimu Wolf Clan’s Young Master Lang Tao pays his respects to the Young Hall Master," he said.

A person followed behind Lang Tao.

It was a young girl from the Ape Tribe, with a naïve look on her round face, but her small round eyes sparkled with astuteness, "Yuan Zhen pays her respects to the Young Hall Master. My father is the Clan Leader of the Ape Tribe."

She received the acknowledgment from Xie Jiuniang.

The two took their seats in succession, and the maidservant brought tea.

No matter how natural Lang Tao and Yuan Zhen acted, they couldn’t help but show a hint of wariness towards Qing Yi.

All three maintained their composure, giving Xie Jiuniang due respect and diligently keeping up appearances of amicability.

Xie Jiuniang didn’t want to get involved. She asked Lang Tao and Yuan Zhen their intentions, and, finding them to be the same as Qing Yi’s, she offered them the same terms.

They both agreed.

However, they were not as prepared as Qing Yi, both claiming they would have someone deliver the Spirit Plants later.

Then, Xie Jiuniang excused herself to work on alchemy, leaving them to their own devices.

No sooner had Xie Jiuniang left than their veneer of civility crumbled.

Qing Yi’s earlier affability vanished, his aura changed in an instant, and he became arrogant and imperious. His eyes narrowed slightly as he challenged, "Did the two of you have people follow my whereabouts?"

"No."

"I simply had people watching outside the Demon Emperor’s Palace," Lang Tao said slowly.

Yuan Zhen chuckled good-naturedly, "Same here. I only had people keep watch outside the Demon Emperor’s Palace, no one was tracking the Qinghu Young Master."

Qing Yi scoffed, about to say something more.

But then someone reminded him through a voice transmission to restrain himself; this was the Demon Emperor’s Palace, not a place where just anyone could act recklessly.

Xie Jiuniang paid no mind to them.

Instead, she went to see the Demon Emperor.

The Demon Guard outside informed her that the Demon Emperor was in seclusion and that she would have to wait for him to emerge if she wished to see him.

Xie Jiuniang took out a Blank Jade Slip, inscribed a few words, and handed it to the Demon Guard, "If the Demon Emperor asks about me when he comes out of seclusion, please hand him this Jade Slip. If he doesn’t ask, then forget about it."

"Yes," the Demon Guard complied.

Xie Jiuniang returned to her bedroom and activated the Formation.

She took the Spirit Plants Qing Yi had brought and stored them in the Small Tortoise Shell, not bothering to inspect them right away. She then threw out a Puppet, commanding, "If someone comes to deliver something, go out and receive it."

"At your command, master," the Puppet intoned woodenly.

Xie Jiuniang changed into a maidservant’s dress and styled her hair like a maidservant’s.

Suddenly, her petite stature grew taller.

Her features also shifted, eventually replicating the appearance of one of the maidservants in the palace exactly.

Whether it was her appearance, height, or even aura, they were nearly identical, making it very difficult to distinguish between the real and the fake with the naked eye.

She pinched out a Water Mirror.

Looking at her reflection, Xie Jiuniang was quite pleased with herself, "This face-changing technique from Mo Chuan is truly formidable."

She added a Concealment Jade Talisman for good measure.

She walked confidently out of her bedroom and strode openly through the palace, then exited the Demon Emperor’s Palace without hesitation.

Once she was far enough away.

She was just about to take out the Broken Sword to use as a flying instrument when she realized to her dismay that all ten boxes of spare Spirit Stones she had kept in her Storage Ring had turned to dust.

Xie Jiuniang, "..."
