Chapter 601: 601

Ji Yang and a team had driven into Myanmar.

The SUV navigated the complex roads. Ji Yang sat without much expression, his Divine Sense extending around, now capable of detecting the surroundings within about a kilometer.

Since breaking through that barrier, Ji Yang had found that his cultivation speed had increased, generating a large amount of True Yuan every day.

There were over twenty people in their team, but they were escorted by hundreds of soldiers dressed not in military uniforms, but in ordinary Myanmar civilian clothes.

Initially, Ji Yang had been worried about potential dangers; yet, the journey was smooth, and they soon arrived in Mancity.

Upon arrival, their team scattered; Ji Yang headed straight into Mancity, while the others dispersed to different cities.

Ji Yang wasn’t aware of their missions; he knew only that their tasks were similar—visiting various cities.

Soon, Ji Yang reached the Hua Country group’s base.

Upon arrival, he was greeted by over ten young people.

Indeed, in such times, the older comrades with connections still wouldn’t risk coming. There was war throughout Myanmar, and many chose not to come.

"Chief Ji, hello. I’m the interim leader here, my name is Huang Benzhang," a young person introduced themselves.

"You all have worked hard. Gather everyone, so I can meet them all."

Ji Yang immediately took over the leadership, being the chief of this location, he naturally wanted to gauge the situation.

In a short while, everyone gathered, totaling twenty-one people.

In a small conference room, Ji Yang spoke of the higher-ups’ directives and then told everyone, "Appointed by the organization, I am now your leader. Please, share what each of you knows."

Looking around, Ji Yang noticed that none of the people from his previous times were there; these were all new faces, unfamiliar with him.

Although the young people were curious about Ji Yang’s age, they each reported the situation here to him.

From their reports, Ji Yang gathered some insight. Although these were working group members, they actually hadn’t done much here, nor had they established contact with various local forces; they were essentially just biding their time.

"So, you mean to say that the work here has not advanced?" Ji Yang asked.

Huang Benzhang hesitated before saying, "The previous chief was also supposed to meet with one of the forces, but en route, they were ambushed by an unidentified force and were all killed."

Ji Yang’s gaze flickered in surprise, guessing that it must have been for this reason he had been brought here.

Another young person added, "Things in Mancity are relatively better. In other places, people can’t even go out to buy groceries without being escorted. The whole area is chaotic, and there are factions specifically targeting and assassinating foreigners, presumably to provoke our country and further destabilize the situation."

Ji Yang had to admit that their analysis made some sense. The various local factions might indeed be attempting to exploit the chaotic situation.

"Alright, it’s commendable that you all have managed to hold your posts under these circumstances. Do your jobs well. I will handle the negotiations with the different parties myself."

Hearing Ji Yang speak thus, everyone seemed to breathe a sigh of relief.

Ji Yang then realized that no one dared leave the camp at such times. Seeing him volunteer for this dangerous task must have been a relief for them.

Ji Yang, having his own base in this location, naturally wouldn’t stay put. After communicating the general situation back to the domestic side, he drove an SUV out of the camp.

While the workgroup members seemed to want to say something, no one spoke up. In their eyes, they would let Ji Yang do as he pleased—even if Ji Yang were to die, it wouldn’t greatly affect them.

Currently, the situation was complex, and domestically, anyone with some connections refused to stay here; thus, if young people wanted this job, they’d have to remain.

Ji Yang didn’t want them to sacrifice needlessly. Moreover, with his self-defensive ability in this place, there was no need for them to take risks.

As he was driving, suddenly, Ji Yang’s heart tightened; ducking his head, a bullet whizzed past.

The car window shattered, and the vehicle was damaged.

Bang!

More gunfire followed. Ji Yang’s vehicle was totaled, the tires shot out, leaving the car immobile.

Ji Yang had spotted several of his ambushers. Though he didn’t know their motives, he couldn’t let them off. His gun was ready in his hand.
