After arriving in the provincial capital, Ji Yang realized he was essentially invisible; he had no real business of his own there.

This was, in fact, a large-scale exhibition. Businesspeople from Southeast Asian countries would come, high-level leaders’ talks were ongoing, and some of the city’s important companies also had their exhibition halls there. The leaders who came tried to talk business with the merchants at their exhibition spots as much as possible.

The young man following Ji Yang, named Wei Jun, was quite capable. He stayed close to Ji Yang, proactively filling him in on the situation.

"Ji, you have only one goal in coming here: understand as much as you can about this place, broaden your horizons, and make friends," Zhang Aimin said, knowing his actions this time weren’t quite fair, as he patted Ji Yang on the shoulder.

"Mayor Zhang, rest assured, I will study diligently. It’s just that we don’t have an exhibition space of our own, which isn’t ideal."

Ji Yang still felt compelled to express his dissatisfaction.

After an awkward moment, Zhang Aimin said, "Well, the exhibition space for our city isn’t fully occupied. It’s always like this. I’ll have someone squeeze in a spot for Chunshui County. As for how and what to promote, that’s up to you."

Ji Yang was speechless. With at most two days’ time, whatever he wanted to do, he was already running late.

However, since that was the case, Ji Yang still decided to give it a try.

With instructions from Zhang Aimin, an exhibition spot was quickly arranged.

Looking at the space, Ji Yang was momentarily at a loss for what to do.

"County Chief Ji, do you need me to do anything?" Wei Jun asked.

"Let me think."

When he returned to his accommodation, Ji Yang sat there deep in thought. The exhibition space had been provided, but he knew the current state of Chunshui County; there was nothing to promote, let alone negotiate any deals.

Glancing again at Wei Jun, who was staying with him in the same room, he thought to himself that the surveillance was really thorough, literally sharing a room with him.

After smoking a cigarette, Ji Yang had an idea. Since there was nothing to promote, he might as well publicize the Xincheng project he was working on, hoping it would possibly attract investors.

The entire project, personally devised by Ji Yang, included several initiatives that could be profitable if executed well.

He pulled out his cellphone and browsed through the photos saved there, containing many pictures.

"Do you know where I can get pictures made up and stuff?" Ji Yang asked.

"The organizing committee can do it; they’re professionals in that area."

"Come on, let’s go to them."

Although Wei Jun was tasked with watching Ji Yang and reporting his activities promptly, he still had to assist with Ji Yang’s work. Without further comment, he led Ji Yang outside.

Soon, they found a company specializing in photo production. Following discussions with Ji Yang, some of the photos from his phone were chosen for reworking.

Pressed for time, Ji Yang even bore the brunt of the expense.

A colored map of Xincheng and an effect picture of Xincheng were produced after some editing.

Ji Yang also quickly designed a promotional brochure for Chunshui County’s Xincheng, complete with pictures and text, which described how the whole new city would look after completion.

It had to be said that the Xincheng effect that Ji Yang produced was impressive; anyone who studied it carefully could see the potential of the new city.
