Chapter 360 The Excited Zhou Feng
Chapter 360: Chapter 360 The Excited Zhou Feng
Facing the police, Mo Chengguo and his associates were about to say something when they saw Zhou Feng, the Secretary of the Provincial Discipline Inspection Commission, stride in.
Along with him was Xu Mingwei, the Director of the Public Security Department.
As soon as everyone saw them enter, they knew this matter was being handled directly by the provincial authorities, and their expressions turned even uglier.
The cadres from Chunshui County, seeing Ji Yang walking up to Zhou Feng and even sharing a laugh with him, belatedly realized everything was related to Ji Yang.
Could it be that this young man had orchestrated the entire affair from behind the scenes?
If it really was his doing, it would be terrifying.
Wu Dahui and the others also looked towards Ji Yang, their faces full of confusion.
Mo Chengguo, however, fixated his gaze on Liu Piaoxue, who was following closely behind Ji Yang; he understood that this woman had thrown in her lot with Ji Yang.
Thinking of the many secrets this woman knew, his face had already turned ashen; he knew he was finished.
None of the cadres dared to speak a word, trembling all over as they watched those around them being taken away one by one.
Ji Yang did not concern himself with their behaviors, instead, he looked towards Zhou Feng.
Zhou Feng knew Ji Yang was inquiring about the collection of evidence; in fact, despite the great fuss made to apprehend these individuals, the evidence was still somewhat lacking. If they could not find more evidence from the homes of those involved soon, the whole affair might not conclude as smoothly as hoped.
Without saying much, Zhou Feng stepped up to the podium and announced loudly, "We have obtained evidence that reveals certain situations in Chunshui County. I would ask everyone to cooperate with the investigation. If you are not involved, you will be released, so there is no need for undue concern."
Who wouldn’t be worried!
Despite Zhou Feng’s assurance that there was no need for undue concern, many people still felt their legs go weak. They were all too aware of their own misdeeds and knew that the likelihood of escaping unscathed was slim.
If it were a time without talented individuals, maybe they wouldn’t apprehend so many people; some had to be left to do the work, right? Unfortunately, in modern society, everything is in shortage except for talent. Even if they were all arrested, there would be no shortage of people to carry on the work.
After Zhou Feng finished speaking, his phone rang.
Standing right there, Zhou Feng answered the call, a smile spreading across his face after listening.
"Got results?" Ji Yang asked.
"Yeah, we found many surprising things at the vocational school. Who would’ve thought that it would be the most crucial place."
Wu Dahui, who had already been apprehended, was not far away and heard this. His face instantly contorted.
Wu Dahui knew his own affairs. Aside from the evidence known to others, he had also hidden some in his office as a safeguard.
Wu Dahui had always believed no one could enter the school; he considered the vocational school his secure fortress. Now, hearing Zhou Feng say they had breached the vocational school and obtained many pieces of evidence, he surmised they must have seized the items he had stashed away.
The items were not ordinary; they involved many people, some of whom held high positions.
With the evidence now in Zhou Feng’s hands, those individuals would surely be out of luck, and as for himself, he reckoned many would want him dead.
Ji Yang was also pleased, saying, "That’s great!"
In truth, Ji Yang had been worried that they might not find anything useful, but now with such evidence in hand, he knew Zhou Feng would make a big move, and the situation at the provincial level would undoubtedly change.
Zhou Feng added, "I never expected the political and legal systems to have degenerated to this state. A large amount of material was also found in Mo Chengguo’s office."
Mo Chengguo, who had been looking at Liu Piaoxue, turned pale when he heard this news.
In the Public Security Bureau’s office, he, too, had stashed away many things. That place had always been his palace, where he hid countless items. Now hearing Zhou Feng say they had raided the place and seized many things, he knew he was truly finished; those were items not meant for public exposure.
Ji Yang remarked, "The urban management enforcers also have quite a few problems."
"Don’t worry. This time we’ve netted them all," Zhou Feng, although of a much higher rank, was in a good mood when addressing Ji Yang. After all, it was Ji Yang who had created this opportunity, which greatly benefited his own career advancement.
Ji Yang said no more and simply watched the disciplinary officials take away a large number of cadres.
Facing the cadres who could not even stand up, Ji Yang said, "Alright, the work in Chunshui County must continue. Those of you who haven’t been taken away should focus your energies on your duties."
"Temporarily!"
Everyone looked silently at Ji Yang; what did he mean by "temporarily not taken away"? It seemed to suggest there was still a chance they might be taken away.
Then, their eyes followed Liu Piaoxue, who was closely trailing Ji Yang.
Wasn’t this woman always following Mo Chengguo and his group? How come she was unaffected?
With this thought, a glimmer of realization dawned on them.
