Chapter 279: Chapter 279: Entering the Party School

Ji Yang had stayed in the county for half a day before setting off for the provincial capital.

Upon arriving at the party school, Ji Yang discovered that this class was indeed specially set up by the province to solve the degree problems of some leadership cadres.

In fact, many leadership cadres, for the sake of their resumes, had obtained higher education degrees beyond the master’s level, making them look impressive to the public. Many of these cadres had only low educational qualifications originally and had become PhDs after attending such classes several times, commanding respect from the unaware.

Being a bachelor’s degree graduate himself, Ji Yang felt it was appropriate to attend this postgraduate class; however, he realized that some of his classmates could even be old enough to be his father.

Of course, Ji Yang also knew that the lowest rank among them was Director Level, while he himself was only at the Deputy Director Level.

The party school was well constructed with ample dormitories. Even though there were thirty people in his class, each person had a room to themselves.

After completing the procedures, Ji Yang settled into the party school.

The class teacher, a middle-aged woman who appeared very stern, told Ji Yang that once he was here, he would need to request leave to enter the party school.

As it happened, Ji Yang hadn’t thought about taking leave; he was here to focus on studies and improve his theoretical knowledge.

After taking a shower, Ji Yang turned on the computer on the desk.

Each room was equipped with a decent computer.

After turning it on, Ji Yang opened a novel website.

Recently, due to being busy, he hadn’t been very committed to writing books for income, and his writing had even seen sporadic updates, sometimes only managing one Chapter in a few days.

Looking at the backend data, Ji Yang was somewhat surprised to find that, despite his sporadic writing style, his book still had decent subscriptions.

When he opened his messaging tool, he found a message from his novel editor.

He quickly read the editor’s message, which had actually been sent yesterday. It said that a film company was interested in the novel he wrote and wanted to purchase the film rights, seeking Ji Yang’s opinion.

Ji Yang linked up with the editor, who replied almost instantly, somewhat resentfully saying, "Sir, your updates are too slow, and you don’t respond when contacted; has something happened?"

"Nothing’s wrong, just been busy with work," he replied.

"Okay, the reason I was contacting you is because someone is interested in buying the rights to your book. The website is negotiating for you, just letting you know, it’s almost settled."

Ji Yang knew that according to the contract he’d signed, the website was responsible for handling such negotiations, so he didn’t need to be involved.

"Sir, I leave it all in your hands."

"Good, just wait for the good news; we guarantee to get you a good price."

The two chatted for a while longer before ending the conversation.

Ji Yang looked at his book, somewhat dazed; he hadn’t expected a book written this way to attract a film company.

From his conversation with the editor, it seemed highly likely that the deal would go through.

If it had been before, Ji Yang would definitely have been excited, but now he felt none of that; money was not an issue for him nor was fame. What he was considering was what it would be like if it really went into production.

After spacing out for a while, Ji Yang felt he really needed to wrap up the novel’s ending soon.

Recalling the plot of the novel, the overall structure was still good; Ji Yang felt that as he hadn’t been focusing on performance lately, he had been writing more meticulously, which improved quality.

Thinking over the entire book’s situation, Ji Yang got his motivation back and started writing again.

The party school probably didn’t have much else going on, which gave him space to write.

While he was writing, a message was sent in a contact group, summoning everyone; it was a message from the class teacher.

Ji Yang didn’t shut down his computer; instead, he tidied up a bit, changed his clothes, and then headed outside.
