Chapter 151: Chapter 151 New Situation

Since Chu Shuyuan mentioned wanting to change locations, Ji Yang also returned to the village.

As soon as he arrived home, the local police chief, Zhang Feng, knocked on the door.

"You really are something; I just got home," Ji Yang said jokingly.

Zhang Feng smiled, "Currently, security is a major issue, and my men happened to see you coming back from there."

Ji Yang didn’t talk more about it and asked with a smile, "What brings you here?"

Zhang Feng looked around and checked outside the door before becoming serious, "There’s a situation I think you should know about."

Zhang Feng had long been aligned with Ji Yang himself, so Ji Yang took what he said seriously and asked, "What is it?"

"There are many investors in Qingyuan Village now, and a new large entertainment club has just opened."

Ji Yang didn’t say a word and just looked at Zhang Feng, knowing that he wouldn’t just mention this without a reason.

Sure enough, Zhang Feng continued seriously, "The new club is huge, luxuriously decorated, with baths, entertainment, and uses a membership system."

Ji Yang handed a cigarette over and lit one for himself, "What’s inside?"

"They’ve brought in a lot of beautiful women from somewhere and many foreign women too. From what I’ve covertly found out, basic sexual services are provided, and there’s even gambling inside."

Ji Yang was noticeably uneasy, not expecting such issues in Qingyuan Village.

"Does everyone know about it?"

Zhang Feng knew Ji Yang was referring to the village leaders.

"Secretary Chu and Chief Li have both been there, and they go frequently."

Ji Yang’s expression turned firm as he asked, "Who’s behind this?"

"From what I understand, it should be the Armed Forces Director Wang Yongcheng."

Ji Yang fell silent. He knew Wang Yongcheng from when Chu Shuyuan mentioned him; a playful person not keen on politics, and importantly, from the provincial military Wang Family.

"Chief Ji, I’m worried about the repercussions of this matter..." Zhang Feng remarked.

Ji Yang replied, "Just keep investigating secretly for now, don’t take any action yet."

"I couldn’t even if I wanted to. Initially, only people from the village used to go, but now leaders from the county and city come specifically, business is booming."

Ji Yang nodded, "It’s good that you informed me, be careful."

"Alright then, I won’t disturb your rest anymore."

After Zhang Feng left, Ji Yang sat in deep thought. He hadn’t been back to the village in a while, so even if Wang Yongcheng wanted to involve him, there hadn’t been a chance. He figured that if he stayed here a while, Wang might drag him there eventually.

Ji Yang inwardly smirked bitterly; if he accidentally ended up there, corruption might very well be awaiting him.

Mixing with those young masters seemed truly perilous!

If he felt somewhat reluctant about Chu Shuyuan’s suggestion to transfer him, now, knowing this situation, Ji Yang wanted to leave even sooner.

With Wang Yongcheng’s supported activities drawing various leaders into enjoyment, there emerged a stronger protective shield. With such a robust shield, nobody in the village could touch them.

Ji Yang had also considered the consequences of uncovering this affair—it was unthinkable. If he proceeded, the number of people he’d offend would be too many. Even though he might achieve short-term results, it wouldn’t be long before he’d be destroyed.

Thus, he hadn’t even thought about exposing the affair.

So, should he just let it continue to develop?

That idea gave Ji Yang a headache.

He was in the village, and as long as Wang Yongcheng knew he was back, he’d likely pull Ji Yang into that place to have some fun. Whether to give in to him then or not, if he did and later a situation arose, he really wouldn’t be able to clear his name.

Thinking this, Ji Yang didn’t linger; he gathered his things and headed straight for Wushu Village.

Ji Yang decided that, before being reassigned, he would simply stay in Wushu Village and not go anywhere else.

Of course, he would have to discuss this matter with Chu Shuyuan, since she had asked him to watch over Chu Ning.

After walking a bit, he found a spot and called Chu Shuyuan.

"Why are you calling?" Chu Shuyuan was a bit surprised.

"Sister, that task you gave me, to help the Chu family people, seems to be getting difficult."

"Tell me."

Ji Yang explained the situation at the club and the fact that people like Chu Ning often went there.

After he finished, Ji Yang said, "This issue seems to be getting bigger. If that place turns into a central hub and many people start heading there, do you think it might lead to big trouble?"

Chu Shuyuan cursed under her breath.

Ji Yang knew she was cursing at the Chu family people.

After a pause, Chu Shuyuan said, "Pretend you don’t know this, and don’t speak of it."

"I know. I just got back and upon learning this, I felt I couldn’t stay and rushed off straight to Wushu Village. I’m afraid Wang Yongcheng will drag me there, and then it’ll be tough to explain."

"You don’t need to be so cautious. Just make sure you’re not caught with any compromising evidence."

Ji Yang replied, "Who knows, I might fall into a trap without even realizing."

"What, can’t you hold your own?"

"I’m worried he might drug my drink or something."

Chu Shuyuan then laughed, "Still thinking about those kinds of good fortunes like the Wu family?"

They chatted casually for a bit more before hanging up the phone.
